(p. 56) anupānamu anu-pānamu. [Skt.] n. A vehicle in medicine, anything taken with medicine to make it less nauseous. మందుతో కూడా తీసుకొనే మధురమైన వస్తువు. 'తద్వచనౌషధంబు ప్రియానుపాన సహితంబై.' Anir. ii 108. యీ మందుకు పాలును అనుపానము చేసి పుచ్చుకో you must take milk as a vehicle to this medicine, you must take this medicine in milk.

(p. 73) abhrakamu abhrakamu. [Skt.] n. Tale, Mica. భూమిలో నుండు అద్దపు పెంకులవంటి వస్తువు. కాకి బంగారము.

(p. 78) araṇamu araṇamu. [Skt.] n. A present given by a father-in-law to his son-in-law or by a father to his daughter, at the nuptials. పెండ్లికొడుకునకు మాములు ఇచ్చే వస్తుసామగ్రి పెండ్లికూతురికి తండ్రి యిచ్చే దిన్ని 'అల్లునికి రైవతుడొసంగెయరణమపుడు.' Balarama. vi. 157.

(p. 111) āṭu āṭu. [Tel.] v. n. To suffice: to last, to be enough దాన్ని పోడిమిగా వాడితే యింకా నెల దినములకు ఆటివచ్చును with caution it may suffice for a month. అది ఆటదు or ఆటి రాదు it is not enough. కట్టెలు ఒక మాటుగా తీసికొంటే ఆటివస్తుంది, చిల్లరచిల్లరగా తీసికొంటే ఆటిరావు if you buy your firewood in the lump it will last; if you buy only a little at a time it will not. ఆటు n. Striking. కొట్టుట. Shooting, or rheumatic pain: పోటు (M. VIII. i. 218:) throbbing. నాకు ఆటుపోటుగానున్నది I am in great pain. ఆ పుంటిలో ఆట్లుపోట్లు ఎత్తినవి the boil throbbed much.

(p. 200) ēru ēru. [Tel.] v. t. To glean or pick up one after another ఎదుటనుండు వస్తువుల నొకటొకటిగా ఎత్తు. To attain age as in ఈడేరు ఏరించు ērinṭsu. v. t. To cause to pick up one after another. ఏరునట్లుచేయు. ఏరుకొను ēru-konu. v. i. To pick up. ఏరుపిడక ēru-piḍaka. n. A cowdung cake that is picked up and is not mixed with bran, &c., for fuel.

(p. 211) oddika oddika. [Tel.] n. Concord, union, friendship అనుకూల్యము. The weights in a pair of scales, a counterpoise col ఒక వస్తువునకు సరియెత్తుగానుంచి తూచేరాళ్లు మొదలైనవి ప్రతిమానము

(p. 328) kōru kōru. [Tel.] v. a. To desire, ask, propose, pray, demand, beg. ఇచ్ఛించు. కోరిక or కోరికి or కోర్కి kōrika. n. A wish. desire. ఇచ్ఛ. Love, hope. అభీష్టము. A vow వరము. కోరు kōru. n. A share. The king's or government portion. ధనేతర వస్తురూపమైన కప్పము. సంగోరు a half share. ఇరుగోరు both shares, i.e., all the crop. మేటికోరు the share due to the farmer.

(p. 346) gaṇṭa ganṭa. [Tel.] n. A stub, a stump of corn stalks. గడ్డిదుబ్బు. పైరు బాగా గంట కట్టుకొనివస్తున్నది the crop thrives well. గంటపిట్ట ganṭa-piṭṭa. n. The Grass Warbler, Chactornis locustelloides. (F.B.I.)

(p. 515) tala tala [Tel.] n. The head. శిరస్సు. The hair on the head. తలవెండ్రుకలు. The top కొన. The front ముందుభాగము. Height ఎత్తు. Whole మొత్తము. An occasion, a time సమయము, ఎడ. An attempt, endeavour పూనిక. A field, place రంగము. A side పక్షము. Telugu books were usually written on palm-leaves connected by a cord running through: and to tear out a leaf or rescind a bond, the top is torn. Hence తలచించిన denotes Rescinded. తలతో నడిచి వస్తున్నాను I will come even though I walk on my head. తలకొవ్విన tala-kovvina. adj. Fat-headed, proud, silly. ఇంతపనిచేస్తే వారిలో ఎట్లు తలయెత్తవచ్చును if he did this how could he shew his face among them? తలతో చెల్లించెను he paid for it with his head, it cost him his life. తలకుఎక్కేపని a perilous undertaking. తలకు ఎక్కినది it got into his head, he is intoxicated. తలకొట్టివేయు to decapitate or behead. తల (for తలను) మోయు to carry on the head. శిరసావహించు. BD. v. 309. ఒకతల on the one hand. తలకట్టు tala-kaṭṭu. n. The crest, tire, top, head-dress. పోగా. Chief ముఖ్యము. The head or leader. (p. 523) tāyamu tāyamu. [Tel.] n. A rare thing. a rarity. అరుదగు వస్తువు. ఇదో ఓవకతాయము నీకిస్తాను here, I will give you a rare thing.

(p. 528) tinu tinu. [Tel.] v. a. To eat. భుజించు. To suffer or undergo (blows, abuse, hardship, or punishment.) వానివద్ధ దెబ్బలు తిన్నాను I was beaten or flogged by him. గడ్డితిను to eat grass, i.e., to make a beast or fool of oneself. అన్నము తింటారా గడ్డి తింటారా are you men or brutes? తినివేయు to devour (one's property.) తినిపించు tini-p-inṭsu. (caus. from తిను.) v. t. To cause to eat. వాణ్ని మన్ను తినిపించినాను I made him eat dirt. తినుబండములు tinu-banḍamulu. n. Eatables. తినుబండారపువస్తువులు provisions.

(p. 542) tūgu tūgu. [Tel.] v. n. To nod. To bow down, to be weighed down. To weigh తూనికపడు. To move or rock backwards and forwards. ఊగు, చలించు. To be paid or got. To sleep. కూరు. To be carried on నడచు. సరితూగు to be equal in weight, to rival in excellence. పచ్చిమిరపకాయలకన్న ఎండుమిరపకాయలు నిండా తూగును dried chillies weigh heavier than the green ones. ఆ రూకలు తూగిరాక as he could not obtain payment. పనితూగకపోయె the work was not carried through. n. Nodding: moving backwards and forwards; equipoise. ఊగుట. Weight. బరువు. Drowsiness, sleepiness. కూరుకుపాటు. పదితూగుల రవలు ten carats weight of diamonds. నాకు తూగువస్తున్నది I am drowsy. ఠూగించు tūginṭsu. v. a. To accomplish, to carry through. తూగుముంచము or తూగుటుయ్యెల tūgu-manṭsamu. n. A swinging cot, a cradle, ఉయ్యాలమంచము. తూగువాడు or తూగుడు the animal called a sloth.

(p. 566) tōyumu tōyamu. [Tel.] n. A marvel or wonder. చిత్రమైనవస్తువు. A band, or company తెగ, పరివారము. 'తోయజనేత్రుడు హరితనతోయము గోపకులు దాను దోతెంచె నృపా.' B. X. § 22. A delicacy, a tit bit, something nice కమ్మనివస్తువు, వింతవస్తువు Manner విధము. A time or opportunity తడవ, సమయము. తోయమువారు companions.

(p. 594) dinusu or దినుస్సు dinusu. [H.] n. An article, thing, drug, ingredient. వస్తువు. Manner, kind, sort, ప్రకారము. విధము.

(p. 626) naṃzu , నం౛ుకొను or నం౛ుకొను nanḍzụ. [Tel.] v. n. To eat by small morsels, to nibble, to pick at to eat a little of any thing like pickle, &c., as a relish the principal food. శూరలోనగువ్యంజనములను కొద్ధి కొద్దిగా తినుట నంజుకొనేవస్తువు a relish or thing so eaten. 'తచ్ఛాకంబునంజుచుం దలంచు కొనియె.' A. iv. 243. టీ నంజుచుం=ఆస్వాదించుచు, అనగా నంచుకొనుచు. 'చందుపుటంబులనంజనిచ్చుచున్.' Parij. iv. 27. నం౛ or నం౛ు nanḍza. n. A tart. నం౛ుకొను వస్తువు. A pickle, ఉపదంశము, ఊరుగాయ. Smacking with the lips, చప్పరించడము. నం౛ు nandzu. n. Poison. విషము. Beri-beri, blood poisoning, నెత్తురుచచ్చి తెల్లపారుట. A lingering, indolent or dormant disease. నంజకురువు an indolent ulcer. నంజు చిగురు a gum boil. నం౛ుడు nanḍzuḍu. n. Flesh, flesh meat. మాంసము, ఎరచి. పిల్లకాయకు నంజుడు పెరిగినది the boy has outgrown his age or strength. నం౛ుడుతిండి nanḍzuḍu-tinḍi. n. A flesh-eater, a carnivorous being. మాంసముతినువాడు. A demon, రాక్షసుడు. నం౛ుపారు nanḍzu-pāru. v. n. To becomne pale, through the blood having deteriorated; to become anaemic, నెత్తురు చచ్చి తెల్లపారు. వాని శరీరము నంజుపారినది he became anaemic. నం౛ులు nanḍzulu. n. Pickles or any thing eaten as a relish with food. 'మోనినంజులం జవిగొనుచుం గ్రోలిసోలి.' Parij. ii. 60. her lips being sauce for the dish.
