(p. 89) alindamu or అళిందము alindamu. [Skt.] n. The terrace before a native house ఇంటిచోపా, తలవాకిటి తిన్నె, తాళ్వారము. Also a small room in the front part of a house, or a room near the passage that leads into a house. తల వాకిటిప్రక్కనుండు ఒక చిన్న గది; లేక నడవగది.

(p. 317) koṇajamu or కొణజా koṇajamu. [Tel.] n. An alley, passage, gallery, balcony, a portico. ద్వారమును మాత్రము సంరక్షణచేసే యిల్లు, వాకిటికావలి యిల్లు.

(p. 547) tettu tettu. [Tel.] n. A door composed of thorny sticks. వాకిటి ముళ్లతలుపు.

(p. 617) dvāramu dvāramu. [Skt. cf. Eng. 'Door'] n. A door. వాకిలి. An opening, orifice, hole. A medium or way, ఉపాయము. ద్వారపాలకుడు dvāra-pālakuḍu. n. A porter. వాకిటికావలికాడు, ప్రతిహారి. The figures of ' cherubs' put up on each of the gates of a temple. ద్వారబంధము dvāra-bandhamu. n. The frame of a gate, a door frame. వాకిటిమ్రానిచట్టము. ద్వారా dvārā. prep. By means of, through. అతని ద్వారా వింటిని I learned it from him.

(p. 795) pēda or పేదా pēda. [from Skt. పదాతి.] n. A foot soldier, భటుడు. Also, a pawn (in chess.) 'క చనుచో వాకిటిపేదలు, కనిదిగ్గునలేచి' సా. ii.

(p. 808) podikaṭṭu podi-kaṭṭu. [Tel.] n. The ledge of a pandal. పందిలి. The side of a door: a door sill. A pandal or verandah in front of a house, వాకిటిముందరి పంచపాక.

(p. 811) poraka poraka. [Tel.] n. A blade of grass. (గడ్డి.) పోచ, ఈనెపుడక. A broom for sweeping, చీపురుకట్ట. పొరకచేప poraka-chēpa. n. A certain large fish. పొకరటి poraka-ṭi. n. The outside wall of a house. వాకిటిచేరుగోడ, ప్రహరీగోడ. పొరకసుడి poraka-suḍi. n. A bad or unlucky mark or tuft of hair, (సుడి,) found on oxen and other animals.

(p. 825) praghaṇamu or ప్రఘాణము praghaṇamu. [Skt.] n. A covered terrace, or a small portico before the door of a house. తలవాకిటి అరుగుమీదివసారా, చోపా, లేక, చిన్న గది. Vasu. iv. 138. and v. 77. Parij. v. 58.

(p. 912) bōru bōru. [Tel.] adj. Great, large. బోరుతలుపులు or బోర్తలుపులు large doors, పెద్దకవాటములు. 'వారలుతమ తమవాకిటి, బోరుతలుపులెట్టి సమయములదెరవకతా, రారసిపదిలముసేయుచు, వారూఢస్థితివహించిరా సౌధములోన్.' KP. vi. 130. n. A rush or downpour, as of heavy rain, వానకురియుటయందగు ధ్వన్యనుకరణము. బోరున, బోరన, భోరున or భోరన bōruna. adv. Quickly, rushingly, శీఘ్రముగా. Much, grandly, greatly, heavily (as rain.) వాన జోరున కురిసినది it rained heavily. బోరునిఏడ్బినది she wept bitterly. 'మనుజేశ్వరులెల్లనుబోరన దమయంతీ స్వయంవరమునకు నొప్పంజనుదెంచిరి.' M. III. ii. 28. బోరుకలగు, బోరుకలుగు or బోరుకల్గు bōru-kalugu. v. n. To sound loud, మ్రోగు, ధ్వనించు బోరుకొను bōru-konu. v. n. To resound, sound aloud. 'భేరిమొదలగువాద్యముల్ బోరుకొనగ.' Ila. i. 104. బోరుకొలుపు bōru-kolupu. v. a. To sound. ధ్వనించునట్లుచేయు. 'బూరుగల్ కంచుకొమ్ములు కాహళములు బోరు కొలుపుటకు నంబుధులెల్లగలగ.' ND. ii. 552.

(p. 996) mukhamu mukhamu. [Skt.] n. The mouth, నోరు. The face, countenance, మొగము. The commencement, ఆరంభము. The front, ముందటిభాగము. The external appearance, the look of the face, ముఖవిలాసము. నిశాముఖము nightfall, evening. సేనాముఖము the front of the army. నఖముఖములు the points of the nails. ముఖమిచ్చు to indulge. అతడు వారితో ముఖమిచ్చి మాట్లాడలేదు he did not speak with them as a friend. 'బల్దూరంబైన శ్మశానవాటి ముఖమాలోకింపగన్.' Bilh. iii. 25. అధోముఖుడుగానుండినాడు he was hanging with his head down. ఆ దివిటీని అధోముఖముగాపట్టినాడు he held the torch with the flaming end downwards. 'అనుఘకథాముఖంబున హితాహిత బోధమొనర్తురింపుగా.' Mand. i. 8. టీ కాథా ముఖంబున by means of a story, కథచేతను అర్ధముఖము the profile or half face. తమరు రామునిముఖముచూచి నన్ను రక్షింపవలసినది I pray that for the sake of Rama you will relieve me. పడమటిముఖముగా towards the west. పడమటిముఖముగా నుండే యిల్లు a house facing the west. ఆడదానిముఖమెరుగనివాడు a youth that as yet knows not the face of a woman, i.e., entirely chaste. అందరును ఏకముఖముగా నుండలేదుగనుక as they were not unanimous or were not all of one mind. 'బాణకృపాణముఖాస్త్ర శస్త్రములు,' M. VII. ii. 275; arrows, swords, and other weapons. ముఖముమాడ్చుకొనినాడు he looked sulky or angry. వానికి ముఖము చచ్చినది he turned pale, he looked blank or ashamed. ముఖదాక్షిణ్యము complaisance. వానిముఖములో ఈగ ఆడలేదు he was all in a pucker. ఆ రూకలను వాని ముఖముమిద పారవేయుము fling the money at his face. అది వానికి ముఖపాఠముగానున్నది he has got it by heart. వాడు ముఖప్రితి మాటలాడును he talks plausibly. ముఖమెరుగనివాడు a stranger. ముఖమెరుగనిదేశము a strange land, a land where one has no acquaintance. ముఖవాసికలవాడు he is a winning man. వానికి ముఖవశ్యముకద్దు he is a very taking man. ముఖము తప్పించుకొనిపోయినాడు he has absconded or disappeared. ముఖస్తుతి flattery. ముఖస్తుతిచేయు to flatter. వాని కాశ్లోకము ముఖస్థముగానున్నది he knows the verse by heart. ముఖద్వారము mukhadvāramu. n. The mouth. నోరు. నదీముఖద్వారము the mouth of a river. ముఖపట్ట or మొగపట్టా mukha-paṭṭa. n. The headstall of a horse, గుర్రము యొక్క ముఖమునకువేసే తోలుపట్టా. ముఖమంటపము mukha-manṭapamu. n. The porch or pillared entrance of a Hindu temple. మందరిమండపము. ముఖవచనము mukha-vachanamu. n. Verbal communication, word of mouth. నోటిమాట. ముఖవస్త్రము mukha-vastramu. n. A veil. A pall, ప్రేతవస్త్రము. ముఖశాల or మొగసాల mukha-sāla. n. A hall at the entrance of a house, an antechamber, తల వాకిటిచావడి. ముఖాంతరముగా mukh-āntaramu-gā. adv. By means of, through, ద్వారా. నా తమ్ముని ముఖాంతరముగా పంపించినాను I sent it by my brother. ముఖాముఖి mukhā-mukhi. adv. Face to face. ఎదురెదురుగా. 'వినుముఖాముఖిబల్కెద.' T. iii. 84. ముఖుడు mukhudu. n. A word used in compounds, thus అధోముఖుడై hanging with his face down. సుముఖుడుగా మాట్లాడినాడు he spoke graciously. దుర్ముఖుడైయుండినాడు he was cross. పరాఙ్ముఖుడైయుండెను he turned his face away.

(p. 1036) mogamu or మొకము mogamu. [from Skt. ముఖము.] n. The face. ముఖము. Front, ఎదురు. An entrance, door, ద్వారము. adj. Chief, ముఖ్యము. మొగచాటు moga-ṭsāṭu. n. Surfeit, disgust in eating, ముఖముకొట్టడము. 'తినతినజిహ్వకు తీపైన మొగచాటు, సారెకుబలుకుట చప్పదనము.' Venkatēswara. §. 16. మొగతప్పు or మొగతిరుగు moga-tappu. v. n. To have the face turned away, విముఖమగు. మొగదల mogadala. n. The end or butt (of a wall.) ఎదురు, ముందటిభాగము. మొగవట్ట or మొగముట్టు moga-paṭṭa. n. An ornament for a horse's head something like a cavesson ముఖపట్ట. 'మణులమొగపట్ట పన్నిసాహిణియొకండు.' Swa. iv. 37. మొగపడు moga-paḍu. v. a. To see, చూచు. మొగపాళము or మొగవాళము moga-pāḷamu. n. The front portion of a house, &c. ఇల్లు లోనగు వాని ముందటిభాగము. మొగపిరికి moga-piriki. (మొగము + పిరికి.) n. A tortoise, తాబేలు. మొగముతప్పించు to abscond, disappear. మొగపు mogapu. (మొగ + పూస.) n. The front portion of a necklace, హారాదుల ముఖభాగము. A buckle. కంఠభూషణము యొక్క ముఖభాగము. 'ధాత్రీ మహాదేవి తాల్చిన మున్నీటి మొలమాలిరత్నంపు మొగపనంగ.' Prabhavati Pradyumnam, i. 3. మొగమిచ్చు moga-miṭsṭsu. v. n. To show the face, to favour, to be pleased, సుముఖుడగు. మొగమోటమి, మొగమొటము, మొగమోట or మోగమోటమి mogamōṭami. n. Partiality, pity, compassion, దాక్షిణ్యము. Hesitation, doubt, సంకోచము. మొగమోడు mogam-ōḍu. v. n. To be ashamed. సిగ్గుపడు. 'ముంగిటికే తెంచి మొగమోడనగునె.' Abhim. 47. To be partial, దాక్షిణ్యపడు. To hesitate, సంకోచించు. మొగవాడ moga-vāḍa. n. The front door of a temple. గోపుర ద్వారము. 'అరిమురిమొగవాడ దెరచివీక్షింప.' BD. iv. 661. మొగవీణె moga-vīṇe. n. A kind of వీణె, ముఖవీణె. మొగసరి moga-sari. (మొగము + అరి.) Same as మొగముట్టు (q. v.) మొగసాల, మొగసల or మోసాల moga-sāla. n. An entrance hall. నడవ. ముఖమంటపము, నగరితల వాకిటిచావడి. 'నీ తమ్ముండు పెద్ద మొగసాలం జాలు మానసులం గావలివెట్టి.' M. ix. ii. 34. A porch in front of a house, తలవాకిటిపంచ.

(p. 1036) mogali or మొగిలి mogali. [Tel.] n. The Screw Pine, or Mangrove, Mandanus odoratissimus. (Rox. iii. 738.) కేతకి. మొగిలిచాప a mat made of its leaves. మొగలాకుగొడుగు an umbrella made of its leaves. మొగిలిచండ్లు the drooping tips of the branches. మొగిలిపువ్వు the fragrant flower of this tree. మొగిలినాగు a snake said to be found in its flower. మొగలిరేకు a petal of its flower, or an ornament worn by women on the head. మొగలికోడి mogali-kōḍi. n. A watercock. ఒకపక్షి. మొగలిపనస mogali-panasa. n. The pineapple, అనాసచెట్టు మొగలేరు moga-lēru. (మొగలి + ఏరు.) n. The celestial river. ఆకాశగంగ. The name of a stream, also called సువర్ణముఖి. 'మొగలేటిమడువున' Kālahas. ii. 161. BD. iii. 349. మొగలివాకిలి mogali-vākili. n. An entrance to a town, తలవాకిలి. A town hall where criminal cases are tried. కచ్చేరి, హ౛ారము. 'పణిహారులు వేగను వీరచోడునింటను వెలుగొందుగిన్నె కపటంబునగైకొని దొంగవంచు నవ్వవజిదళాక్షినింమొగలివాకిటికీడిచి చోరదండన మొనరింప జూడగ.' Valeswara. v. 85.
