(p. 32) aṭṭaḍi aṭṭaḍi. [Tel.] n. A chamber built over the gate of a fort. కోటవాకిటిమీది యిల్లు. See అట్టము. 'అక్కజంబుగ గాలి యట్టళ్లుగూలె.' DRY. 1518.

(p. 37) aḍucu aḍuṭsu. [Tel.] v. n. To close, to shut. మూసివేయు. అందులో నాలుగు వాకిళ్లు అడిచియున్నవి four of the gates are closed, ఆ గుడ్లను ఈ పెట్టెలో అడుచు (here అడుచు is for అణచు) cram the clothes into the box. Also, v. a. To beat, strike, thrash. To destroy కొట్టు, వళింపచేయు. 'ఎమ్ములిరియుగ శిలతో నడిచిన.' P. i. 729. అడుచుకొను aḍuṭsukonu. v. To contract, choke, be stopped. ఆ కాలవలో ఇసుక అడుచుకొన్నది the channel is choked with sand. వాని రొమ్మడుచుకొన్నది he has a contraction of the chest. గొంతు అడుచుకొన్నది, మాట్లాడకూడలేదు his throat is hoarse, he cannot speak.

(p. 89) alindamu or అళిందము alindamu. [Skt.] n. The terrace before a native house ఇంటిచోపా, తలవాకిటి తిన్నె, తాళ్వారము. Also a small room in the front part of a house, or a room near the passage that leads into a house. తల వాకిటిప్రక్కనుండు ఒక చిన్న గది; లేక నడవగది.

(p. 218) ōra ōra. [Tel.] n. The side, border, edge. అంచు. A whole day and night అహోరాత్రము. ఒక ఓరను ఉంటిమి we stood on one side. ఓరగా sidelong, sideways. తలుపోరగా చేసెor ఓరవాకిలి చేసినది she opened the door a little, or, set it a jar. ఓరబోయి becoming crooked వంకరపోయి. BD. vi. ఓరచూపు ōra-ṭsūpu. n. A sidelong glance. బెళుకుటోర యొయారపు చూపు leeringly. ఓరంతపొద్దు ōranta-poddu. (ఓర+అంత+ప్రొద్దు) the livelong day, all day long, దినమంతయు, ఆసాయము. Also, a little రవంత, ఇసుమంత. 'ఉప్పులేకుండన నోరంతప్రొద్దు చప్పిడితాగిన సాగునే కాళ్లు? రాలేకొదుగబడి రాకయున్నాడు.' Pal. 316.

(p. 317) koṇajamu or కొణజా koṇajamu. [Tel.] n. An alley, passage, gallery, balcony, a portico. ద్వారమును మాత్రము సంరక్షణచేసే యిల్లు, వాకిటికావలి యిల్లు.

(p. 341) kṣaumamu kshaumamu. [Skt.] n. Linen cloth. నారచీర. చెట్టునారలతో చేసిన వస్త్రము, దూకూలము, వెలిపట్టువస్త్రము. Woven silk. A room on the top of the gate of a fort. కోట వాకిటిమీది యిల్లు. H. iii. 85. Vasu. iii. 224.

(p. 352) gaḍapa or కడప gaḍapa. [Tel.] n. A threshold. A gateway. (metaph. a house). వాకిటి క్రింది భాగము, ఇల్లు.

(p. 361) gavanu or గవిని or గవకు gavanu. A city-gate. A. ii. 33. గవనులు or గవకులు fort gates. కోటవాకిళ్లు.

(p. 379) gummamu gummamu. [Tel.] n. A door way, gate-way or entrance. వాకిలి, ద్వారము.

(p. 392) gōpuramu gōpuramu. [Skt.] n. An arch, a dome, a pinnacle. A portal door, a city gate. గవను, వాకిలి. A high pyramidal tower over the gates of a temple. A steeple. (Figuratively) Elysium. స్వర్గము. R. i. 151. గోపురము (in Telugu for మాపురము) is also the hump on a bullock. వాడు ఊరక నన్ను గోపురముమీద ఎత్తిపెట్టినాడు he flattered me grossly.

(p. 436) cēru chēru. [Tel.] v. n. To arrive, reach the destination, come to hand. To be close or in contact. To lean ఒరగు. To draw near or approach సమీపించు. To be connected with, united to. To be added, joined, included. To belong, appertain. To be assembled or collected. ఆపద్దు ఈ లెక్కలో చేరదు that item does not belong to this account. ఇది ఆ చట్టములో చేరదు this does not fall under that rule. వాకిలి చేరమూసినావా have you shut the door? తలుపుచేరదెరిచి (BD. v. 234.) setting the door ajar. చెచ్చెరనారాజు చేరంగపిలిచి calling him near or close. చేరపట్టు to bring close (as a boat to ship.) n. A string, a cord, a string of pearls or flowers. సరము, త్రాడు, గొలుసు. A row or a string of spawn in fish. ఉట్టిచేరు the cord on which a net hangs. పాలచేరులు the milk glands. కురువిందచేరులు necklaces of Kuruvinda seeds. కనకపుచేర్లు gold chains. చేరుచు or చేర్చు chēruṭsu. v. t. To put together, to join, unite, mix, combine, include, add. చేరజేయు. To assemble, accumulate. To admit, as a member, to introduce. కౌగిటచేర్చు to embrace. చేరుకొను chēru-konu. v. a. To touch, to lean upon, to join. శత్రువులతో చేరుకొన్నాడు he joined the enemy. చేరుగడ chēru-gaḍa. n. Nearness సమీపము. A refuge, దిక్కు, శరణము. adj. Near సమీపమైన. చేరుగొండి chēru-gonḍi. adj.
