'గుబాదెబ వీధుల వెంటజంటలై' H. v. 191. వాణ్ని గుబాదెబగుద్దినారు they beat him thoroughly. గుబాలు or గుబేలు gubālu. n. A bang! a loud sound. గుబాలను to bang, to make a noise. గుబాలున or గుభాలున all at once. Bang! crashingly. నీళ్లలో బాలునదుమికినాడు he leapt slapdash into the water. గుబాలుమన్న ధ్వనివింటిని I heard an explosion or a bang. గుబాళించు gubā-ḷ-inṭsu. v. n. To be emitted or burst forth, as scent. 'కమ్మతావిగుబాళించు తమ్మికొలను' a pond perfumed with lilies. Vijaya. i. 162.

(p. 560) toppadōgu toppa-dōgu. [Tel. తోగు+తోగు.] v. n. To plunge, to be drenched. తొప్పదోగిన drenched, soaked. Bedewed, moist. వానలలో తొప్పదోగ తడిసిరి they were soaked in the rain.

(p. 584) davamu davamu. [Skt.] n. A conflagration, wildfire. కార్చిచ్చు. Ardent feelings, the consuming heat of hunger or fever. A forest అడవి. దవానలము or దవదవానలము dav-ānalamu. n. Wildfire, a scorching blaze, a conflagration.

(p. 590) dāvamu dāvamu. [Skt.] n. A forest. అడవి. A burning forest, a conflagration, wildfire, కారుచిచ్చు. దావాగ్ని or దావానలము dāv-āgni. n. Wildfire, a devouring flame, a conflagration, burning heat.

(p. 611) doppa See దొన్నె. దొప్పలబోవు doppala-bōvu. [Tel.] v. n. To bag out with wet, as leather does with damp. To shrivel up: to contract as the hands in pain. దొప్ప చెవులుగల flap-eared, having large ears. దొప్పగా నుండే doppa-gā-nunṇē. adj. Channelled, like a dish. దొప్పదోగు doppa-dōgu. v. n. To plunge, to be drenched. దొప్పదోగిన drenched, soaked bedewed, moist. వానలో దొప్పదొగ తడిసిరి they were soaked in the rain.

(p. 727) pallaṭa or పల్లటము pallaṭa. [Tel.] n. Movement. చలనము. Difference, వ్యత్యాసము. Confusion, perturbation, perplexity, agitation. తారుమారు, తల్లడము, దొర్లడము. 'డుల్లెడు తలయును తునిసెడు, విల్లును ధరకొరగు మేను విరిగెడు సిడమున్, బెల్లుదొరుగు నెత్తురునై, పల్లటిలం దొడగెనపుడు పాండవబలముల్.' M. VI. i. 340. 'ఇపుడు నామనము పల్లటిల్లుట, హిత భాషణంబుల డిందుపరపు.' M. (p. 989) mīḍu mīdu. [Tel.] n. The upper surface; top, head. ఉపరిభాగము, ఊర్ధ్వము. Futurity. భవిష్యత్కాలము. What is vowed, or set aside for sacrifice, దేవతకు నియమించిన ముడుపు. That which is next, the next thing, పరము. మీదుకట్టు mīdu-kaṭṭu. v. a. To devote, sanctify, set aside in the name of God. మీద or మీదను mīda. postposition. After. ఇకమీదట in future. అటుమీదట after which, then. వారుపోయనమీదట after they went away. ఇకమీదట నీకు వారిసహవాసమువద్దు do not have any thing to do with them hereafter. మీదటి mīdaṭi. (Irreg. infl. of మిదు. See మీది.) adj. Subsequent. ఆమీదటిపనులు the subsequent acts. మీదటికి mīdaṭiki. adv. In future, next year. మీదటికి వానలేకుంటే if there should be no rain next year. మీది mīdi. (infl. of మీదు) adj. Upper, higher, the next, above, on. మిదికొమ్మ the top branch. నా మిది ప్రేమ (her or his) love towards me మీది మాట the next word. మీదిపనులు what is to be done afterwards. మీదిమన్ను the upper layer of earth. మీదిగుడ్లు staring eyes: (as in the song దొప్పచెవులు, దోసెకడుపు, మిట్టనొసలు, మీదిగుడ్లు.) దాని మీది సొమ్ములు the jewels which were on her. పాలమిదిమీగడ the cream upon milk. మీదికి mīdiki. (Dative of మీదు) Upon, against. ఆదండు ఏఊరిమీదికి పోయినది against which village is the army gone? ఆ తప్పు మామీదికి వచ్చినది that fault was laid upon us. మీదుమిక్కిలి mīdu-mikkili. adj. Very much, కడు మిక్కిలి.

(p. 1131) varapu varapu. [Tel.] n. Drought, want of rain. అనావృష్టి, వానలేమి. 'వరపునలతకూన వాడినయట్లు.' Abhi. D. 317.

(p. 1152) vāna vāna. [Tel.] n. Rain, a shower, వర్షము. Plu. వానలు showers. The rainy season, వర్షాకాలము. వానలేనివట్టిపిడుగు lit: a thunderbolt without rain: i.e., mere words without deeds. వానకాళ్లు vāna-kāḷḷu. n. A harmless water snake of a brown colour, with two light green stripes down the back. వానకురుసినప్పుడు బైటపడే నీళ్లపాము. 'వడిగొని భీతితో వర్షంబురాక కోరుచుండెడివానకోయిలభంగి.' Pal. 15. వాన౛ాలిపులుగు vāna-dzāli-pulugu. n. A swan. హంస. 'అనియలవానజాలిపులుగావనజాక్షిని జీరివేడినన్.' H. iv. 67. వానతరి vāna-tari. n. The rainy season. వర్షాకాలము, వర్షఋతువు. an epithet of the cuckoo. వానపాము or వానవేగు vāna-pāmu. n. An earthworm; (lit: a rain worm. గండూపదము, మహిలత, ఎర్రపాము. వానరాయి vāna-rāyi. n.
