(p. 249) karakkāya karakkāya. [Tel.] n. The fruit of the కరక (q. v.) వాని నోట్లో కరక్కాయపడ్డది he is ruined: వానినోట కరక్కాయ కొట్టినాను I have ruined him.

(p. 602) dummu dummu. [Tel.] n. Dust. దుమారము, దూళి. దంబోవడి. (దుమ్ము+పొడి.) Currystuff, మెంతి జిలకర్రచేర్చి చేసిన నున్నని కూరపిండి. A bone, ఎముక. వానినోట్లో దుమ్ముకొట్టిరి they ruined him. దుమ్ములగొండి the bone-eater, i.e., the striped Hyaena, Hyaena striata. కొరనాసిగండు, గాడిదపులి. (F.B.I.) దుముదుము thick dust, దుమ్ముదుమ్ము. దుముదుములాడు dumu-dumu-l-āḍu. v. n. To raise dust or fire. దుమ్మురేగు, నిప్పులురేగు. To be gloomy, దుమదుమలాడు. దుమ్మాడు dummāḍu. v. n. To wear or use powder. 'గందవొడితోన దుమ్మాడిమందగతుల.' Ila. i. 149.

(p. 684) nōru nōru. [Tel.] n. The mouth. నక్త్రము, ముఖద్వారము. G. నోటి, నోరి. Abl. నోట. Plu: నోళ్లు నోట with the mouth. నోరు ముయ్యి hold your tongue. నోరులేని dumb, unable to talk. నోరు లేనివాడు a simpleton. నోరుకొట్టు to strike on the mouth, i.e., to silence, check, rebuke; to deprive of one's rights or enjoyment, to plunder, spoil. నోరుకాచు to watch one's lips, to keep a secret. నోరుకట్టు to restrain the appetite. నోటిలో ఆడుచున్నది I have it at the tip of my tongue. వానినోరు మంచిదికాదు he is a foul mouthed fellow. పెద్దనోరుచేయు to talk loud or abusively. నోరుపడిన speechless. నోటిపేద foolish, ignorant, senseless. నోటిమాట a mere word of mouth. నోరుమెంగ nōru-menga. n. A dumb man. మూగవాడు. నోటికి వచ్చినట్టు తిట్టెను he gave them all the abuse that he could think of. నా నోట్లో మన్నుకొట్టినాడు he cast earth in my mouth, i.e., he destroyed my hopes or prospects. నోరూరు nōr-ūru. v. n. To water (as the mouth). To desire, అపేక్షించు. నా నోరూరుచున్నది my mouth waters. వానితో నీవు యేల నోరుచేసుకొంటావు why do you quarrel with him? నోరెత్తు nōr-ettu. v. n. To raise the voice, cry, speak. To try to speak, మాటడ యత్నించు. నోరాడు nōr-āḍu. (నోరు+ఆడు.) v. n. To utter. వానికి ఎటుల నోరాడెనో I can't think how his mouth could utter such words. 'చెయ్యప్పులనుచు నిచ్చినవారు కటువుగా నడుగ నుంకించి నోరాడకరుగ.' Suca. iii. 203.

(p. 769) purapura pura-pura. [Tel. anuk.] adv. Much, greatly, మిక్కిలి. పురపురపొక్కు to sorrow bitterly, deeply, inconsolably. 'గురులార మీరు నాకై పురపుర బొక్కంగవలదు.' G. v. 235. ఆ దెబ్బకు వానిచెంప పురపురవాచినది his cheek swelled much form the blow. పురపురలాడు purapural-āḍu. v. n. To be eager, మిక్కిలి అపేక్షపడు. ఏదైనను తినవలెనని వానినోరు పురపురలాడుచున్నది he is eager for some food.

(p. 1204) veṇṭa venṭa. [Tel. from వెను.] n. Business, కార్యము. An affair, విషయము. A way, మార్గము. Manner, విధము. Hunting , the chase, వేట. adv. and postposition. With, along with, in company with, behind, following after, వెంబడి. ఏవెంట in what manner or way? ఏరీతిగా. నావెంటవచ్చినాడు he came along with me. వీధ్వెంటసరుగెత్తినా he ran along the street. ప్రవాహమువెంట కొట్టుకొనివచ్చిన మానులు the trees that came down the river. వానినోటి వెంట వచ్చినమాటలు the words that slipped out of his mouth. వానిముక్కువెంట నెత్తురుకారుచున్నది he is bleeding at the nose. 'కాలువ వెంటబూచు మల్లికలవనంబనంగ.' Swa. ii. 24. వెంటనంటు or వెంటబడు venṭa-n-anṭu. v. a. To follow, pursue. వెంబడించు. వెంటనే venṭan-ē. adv. and postposition. Immediately, at once, వెంబడిగానే. వారు వచ్చినవెంటనే as soon as they arrived. వెంటబెట్టుకొను venṭa-beṭṭu-konu. v. n. To take along with.
