To pound or beat. To throw, fling or toss. గందపొడిగుప్పిరి they threw powder in handfuls. 'అతనుడునృపతిగుప్పుచున్నాడు పువ్వుకోలలను' L. X. 98. To place ఉంచు. To sprinkle చల్లు. To throw as a missile or an arrow విసిరివేయు, ప్రయోగించు. To thrust as a calf does at the udder పొదగును పొడుచు. గుప్పు n. A blow, a dash. గుప్పన guppana. adv. Sweetly, fragrantly. (గుప్పు+అనునట్లు) గుప్పనమేనితావి వగగల్కగ కమ్మనికందిపప్పు మాపప్పన మీకురాదు.' Balaram. Cha. 135. గుప్పున guppuna. adv. Quickly, hastily. Clearly. గుప్పున కనిపిస్తున్నది it is seen clearly or boldly.

(p. 451) cūcu ṭsūṭsu. [Tel.] v. a. To see, to look, view, observe, perceive. To consider, meditate, think on. To visit. To wait. To take care, be on one's guard. To regard, care for. To try, to attempt, to see to. To experience, try, prove by any sense. చేతితో చూస్తిని I felt it with my hand. చవిచూస్తిని, రుచిచూస్తిని I tasted it. To estimate, to judge. రాజూచు to acknowledge the receipt. మరలిపోవజూచు to think of going back. అతని ప్రాణముచూడక not caring for his life. సమయముచూచు or తరిచూచు to watch for an opportunity. ఉండజూచు to overhaul,to see that a thing is there. నన్ను చంపజూచిరి they tried to kill me. ప్రేమలొలుకు చూపుల జూచి casting glances that beam with love. సరిచూచు to examine, to see if a thing is right, to check. వాసనచూచు to smell. చెయ్యిచూచు to feel the pulse. వాడు చెప్పే మాటలు చూడు attend to what he says. అతని పని చూస్తున్నాను I am acting for him. నెలదినములమట్టుకు చూస్తిని I waited for a month. చూచుకొను ṭsūṭsu-konu. v. a. To see or perceive. To look silently, look for ourself.

(p. 730) pasi pasi. [from Skt. పశువు.] n. Cattle. పశుసమూహము, గోగణము. The smell of cattle, పశ్వాదులమీదిగాలి, వాసన. పసిపట్టు pasi-paṭṭu. To scent or follow by the nose, as a dog does a fox. పసిగొను to trace out or smell out. వాసనపట్టు. మొసలి కుక్కను పసిపట్టి when the crocodile scented the dog. పసులు pasulu. n. plu. A meat offering, an offering of food to a god, నైవేద్యము. బోనకత్తె, బోనకత్తియ. బోనపుకత్తె or బోనముకత్తె bōna-katte. n. A cook woman, వంటకత్తె. A housemaid or slave girl. దాసీది. బోనకాడు bōna-kāḍu. n. A cook. బోనకావిడి bōna-kāviḍi. n. A yoke (కావడి) on which baskets containing food are carried. 'కర్పూరమాదిగా వాసనలమరుపెట్టెలును బొక్కసంబును బలుబోనగావిళ్లు.' Pal. 256. బోనపుటిక bōna-puṭika. n. (p. 922) bhāvamu bhāvamu. [Skt.] n. Mind, soul, heart, ఆత్మ. Thought, idea, feeling, disposition, nature. Import, meaning, drift. Motive, aim, view. అభిప్రాయము. Temperament, humour, passion, sentiment, state or condition of being. మనోవికారము. A property or power of matter. స్వభావము. An act, gesture. ధాత్వర్థరూపక్రియ. A learned man, (నాట్య పరోభాషాయాం) విదుషి, విద్వాంసుడు. నన్ను తల్లిభావముతో నెంచిరి they looked upon me as a mother. అవి దొంగసొమ్ము అని మీ భావమా do you mean that these were stolen goods? భావగర్భము bhāva-garbhamu. adj. Having a secret import or a mysterious meaning: intelligible, as a glance conveying a certain impression. బావజారి bhāvajāri. n. The 'Amoricide' or slayer (అరి) of Cupid, i.e., Siva. భావజుడు bhāvajuḍu. n. Lit: 'Born in the heart,' an epithet of Manmadha. భావన bhāvana. n. Mental perception, recollection, consciousness of past ideas or preceptions, imagination. తలపు. Observing, investigating. వాసనపట్టుట. Steeping, maceration of a drug in a liquid. Thus భావనశొంఠి, భావనకరక్కాయ are ginger or aloes prepared by being repeatedly dipped in certain fluids and dried again. అల్లపురసావయేడు భావనలుచెయ్యి let these drugs be stepped seven times in the juice of ginger. భావనచేసుకొను bhāvana-chēsi-konu. v. n. To imagine or figure to oneself. బావభవుడు bhāvabhavuḍu. n. One who exists (భవ.) in the heart (భావ): i.e., Manmadha. భావార్థము bhāv-ārthamu. n. Implication, inuendo, a sense not expressed, an affirmative sense. The affirmative form of the verb. భావ్యము bhāvyamu. adj. What must, will, or ought to be, కాదగినది. likely, probable, befitting ఆ యింటి౛ోలికి పోవడమునకు మీకు భావ్యముకాదు you must not have anything to do with that house. భావ్యుడు bhāvyuḍu. n. One on whom they meditate.

(p. 1072) rāzanamulu or రా౛నాలు rāḍzanamulu. [Tel.] n. A superior kind of rice of a reddish colour. వడ్లలోభేదము. 'పోతకంటిరా౛నాలు, బూదప్రోల్ రా౛నాలు, జిలకరరా౛నాలు, పొన్నపూరా౛నాలు, జాజిరా౛నాలు, వాసనరా౛నాలు, గంబూరరా౛నాలు.' H. iv. 154.

(p. 1137) valacu or వల్చు valaṭsu. [Tel.] v. n. To smell or emit perfume. వాసనకొట్టు. 'గమగమవలచు చొక్కపుజవాది.' Swa. ii. 59. 'శ్వాపదంబులపదహతి వ్రస్సివలచి, వరుగు దరుచగు మురుత్రోవనరిగియెదుట.' A lover, an amorous person. కామముగలవాడు. కాముకుడు. వలపుకత్తె or వలపుకత్తియ valapu-katte. n. An amorous woman, కామము గలది. కాముకి. వలపుకీలు Same as పోకముడి. (q.v.) వలపుమోపరి valapu-mōp-ari. n. (p. 1160) vāsana vāsana. [Skt.] n. Smell, scent, odour, fragrance. Flavour. పరిమళము. Notion, recollection from memory. Fancy, imagination. మునుపు అనుభవించినదాని స్మరణ. ఇది వాని పూర్వజన్మవాసన this is the influence of his former birth. వానికి సంస్కృతవాసనలేదు he has not the slightest acquaintance with Sanskrit. 'ఉదరార్భకజన్మధురీణవాసనల్.' R. iii. 95. వాసనకొడుపు a scented wick. పెద్దఊదువత్తి. వాసనచూచు vāsana-ṭsūṭsu. v. a. (p. 1195) visaru or విసురు visaru. [Tel.] v. n. To come out, బయలుపడు To blow, as the wind, to spread, as a scent. గాలికొట్టు, వీచు, వాసనకొట్టు. లోగా అణిగి ఉన్న రోగమును బైట విసిరేలాగు చేసేమందు a searching medicine, a medicine that makes a hidden disease appear. లోనికాక బైటికివిసిరినది the latent fever came out. v. a. To wave as a fan, to brandish, whisk, flourish, as a sword or a whip. ఆడించు. వీచు. To throw, fling, hurl, sling, రువ్వు. To turn, to grind. తిరుగలివిసరు to turn a mill. వలవిసరు to cast or let down a net. n. Waving, casting, spreading. ఆడించుట. వీచుట, వేయుట, వ్యాపించడము. కాటకపువిసరుచేత through the spreading of the famine. విసరురాయి visaru-rāyi. n. A grindstone. తిరుగలి. వసరియాడు Same as విసరు. విసరికొట్టు or విసరికొట్టు visari-koṭṭu. v. a. To fling, to dash. రువ్వు. To scorn, to huff. కసురు. ఒకడబ్బు ఇమ్మంటే మూతితో ముఖములో విసిరికొట్టుచున్నది he asked for a penny, she gave him a scolding. ఆ కుండను గోడమీద విసిరికొట్టినాడు he dashed the pot against the wall. విసరివేయు or విసిరివేయు visari-vēyu. v. a. To hurl, fling. రువ్వు. ఊరిబైట విసరివేసినట్టుగానుండే ఒకయిల్లు a house that seemed as if it had been thrown out of the town.
