(p. 845) prāṇamu prāṇamu. [Skt.] n. Air, wind, breath, life, vitality, the living soul. గాలి, హృదయమందలి గాలి, హృదయమందలిగాలి, ఉసురు. In Grammar, a vowel. ప్రాణముతోనున్నవాడు one who is yet living. కొనప్రాణముతోనున్నాడు he is nearly dead. ప్రాణమువిడిచెను he breathed his last, gave up the ghost. పంచప్రాణములు pancha-prāṇamulu. n. The five vital airs, called ప్రాణము, అపానము, సమాణము, ఉదానము, వ్యాసము. అతడు దానిమీద ప్రాణములు విడుస్తున్నాడు or వానికి దానిమీద పంచప్రాణములు he loves her very dearly. ప్రాణముమీదకువచ్చేపని a most perilous affair. వానిప్రాణము మీదికి వచ్చినది he is in danger of his life. ప్రాణముతో పట్టుకొనిరి they caught him alive. నా ప్రాణముపోయినా ఇట్లు చెప్పుదునా I will not say so even if it should cost me my life. వాడు పిడికిట ప్రాణములు పట్టుకొని వచ్చినాడు he arrived half dead. వానికి నేర్పుట ప్రాణసంకటమవును it would cost immense labour to teach him. ఆ విగ్రహమునకు ప్రాణప్రతిష్ఠచేసినారు literally, they gave life to the image, i.e., they performed the ceremony by which the god is supposed to be lodged in the image. ప్రాణత్యాగము suicide, ఆత్మహత్య. ప్రాణాతురము or ప్రాణసంకటము deadly peril. 'ప్రాణాతురమైనచో పరిణయంబులయందును బల్కుబొంకు సత్యాతిశయంబు.' M. III. v. 67. ప్రాణాపాయము mortal danger. ప్రానావనము saving the life. ప్రాణావసానకాలమున in his last moments. ప్రాణాహుతి the five morsels offered to the five vital principles. ప్రాణస్నేహము intimate friendship. ప్రాణదానముచేసినాడు he gave them their lives, he spared their lives. నా ప్రాణము ఉండేమట్టుకు as long as I live. ప్రాణగొడ్డము prāṇa-goḍḍamu. n. The loss of life, death. చావు, ప్రాణహాని, ప్రాణాపాయము. 'వినునృపరాజ్యామిషముంగొనపలువురచేత ప్రాణగొడ్డంబైయున్నను ధీరుడే మరమినది దనకునుదక్కించుకొను బుధస్తుత్యముగాన్.' M. XII. ii. 208. ప్రాణదుడు prāṇa-duḍu. n. The giver of life, the creator. బ్రహ్మ. ప్రాణనాధుడు or ప్రాణేశుడు prāna-nādhuḍu. n. The lord of (her) life, i.e., a husband or lover, మగడు. Yama, యమధర్మరాజు. ప్రాణవాయువు prāṇa-vāyuvu. n. Oxygen gas. ప్రాణాచారము prāṇā-chāramu. See ప్రాయోపవేశము. ప్రాణాయామము prāṇā-yāmamu. n. A ritual mode of breathing, while mentally reciting certain prayers, stopping one nostril and inhaling or exhaling with the other: నాసికారంధ్రము లవద్ధనుండు వాయువును మంత్రపూర్వకముగా నిరోధించుట. A. iii. 88. ప్రాణి prāṇi. n. A being, or living creature. జంతువు.

(p. 1091) rōlu rōlu. [Tel.] v. n. To weep or cry aloud. రోదనముచేయు, విలపించు. 'రోలు చుబోరలగిలంబడి నాలుకవెడలంగబెట్టి యవుడు గరుచుచున్ లాలలు గ్రమ్మగరక్షపాలుడు వికృతాస్యుడగుచు బ్రాణమువిడిచెన్.' M. (p. 1170) viḍi vidi. [Tel.] n. A red tint, అరుణకాంతి. Clearness, transparency, brilliancy, నైర్మల్యము, స్వచ్ఛత. Heroism, courage, valour, ప్రతాపము, పరాక్రమము. Anger, క్రోధము. The pods in a cotton fruit, ప్రత్తికాయలోని జెడ. 'విడిగలమానికముంబుత్తడితోడం గూర్చినట్లు.' P.iii. 285. adj. Red, అరుణము. Clear, transparent, స్వచ్ఛమైన, నిర్మలమైన. Separate, distinct, Single, odd, extra, spare, unoccupied, unemployed, loose. ఒంటి, ప్రత్యేకమైన, మిగతగానుండే, పనినుండి విడిచిన. That can be untied, విడువదగిన, 'విడికెంపుపడగగొడుగులు, కడువేడుకశేషు డూన.' N. ix. 219. విడాకు viḍ-āku. (విడి+ఆకు.) n. A loose leaf. Divorce. విడిసం౛ viḍi-sandza. n. The ruddy dawn or evening, ఎర్రసం౛. విడిపుష్పము an unstrung flower. విడిముత్యములు loose pearls. విడిమనిషి a single man, an extra man, one who is unoccupied or unemployed. విడిఆకులు loose leaves, not stitched. విడిఖండువ a single cloth (meaning one of a pair.) విడిపావకోడు one sandal, an odd shoe. విడిపూస an odd bead. విడిమేను naked, దిసమొల. విడియైదువ a loose woman, లంజె. విడికథ a riddle to be solved, విడువదగినకథ. విడికోడె a bullock that is set free from work, పనినుండివిడిచిన కోడె విడి viḍi. (past p. of the verb విడు.) Setting aside, leaving off. విడిచిపెట్టి. adv. Alone, ఒంటరిగా. విడిగానుండే viḍi-gā-nunḍē. adj. Single, unoccupied, unemployed, loose. ఒంటరిగానుండే, మిగిలియుండే, ఒకటి నొకటి చేరకుండా ఉండే. విడిగోలు viḍi-gōlu. adj. Spare, unemployed. మారుపు, పనిలేని. విడిగోలు ఎద్దులు spare bullocks. వఅడు విడి గోలుమీద దున్నును he ploughs with different yokes of cattle in turn. విడిదల viḍi-dala. (విడిది+తల.) n. A halting place. విడియుచోటు, విడిసినచోటు, దండుదిగినస్థలము. 'విడిదలకుపోయినపుడు నీకొడుకులెల్లనాపగా నందునునికడరుగుదెంచి.' M. VI. iii. 70. విడిది viḍidi. n. Halting, విడియుట. A lodging, a residence, దిగుబస. విడిసినచోటు. 'ఈ విడిదింటిలోనీకేలమాయ.' L. iv. 240. విడిదిచేయు viḍidi-chēyu. v. n. To halt, stay, abide, దిగు, బసచేయు, విడిపట్టు viḍi-paṭṭu. (విడిది+పట్టు.) n. A halting place, విడిదిచోటు. A lodging, inn, బస. 'అమర విభుండు చేరి వినయానతుడై విడిపట్టువైజుయంతమునకు జిత్తగింపుమన.' Parij. iii. 76. విడిమట్టు viḍi-maṭṭu. n. A dwelling place, వాసస్థానము, కాపురస్థలము. Also, same as విడిది. విడిమట్టుచేయు viḍi-maṭṭu-chēyu. v. n. To halt, stay, lodge, దండుదిగు, బసచేయు. విడిపడు or విడిపడు viḍi-paḍu. v. n. To separate, విడు, విడబడు. To slip, ౛ారు, To escape, get free, break loose, to shake off (shame), విడిపించుకొను, జంకువిడుచు. విడిపోవు or విడివోవు viḍi-pōvu. v. n. To cease or terminate. తనకుతానే వదలు, విడివడు. విడిముడి viḍi-muḍi. n. Wealth, riches, ధనము, ఐశ్వర్యము, విడియత్తము viḍi-y-attamu. n. The glove or leather worn on the huntsman's arm for the hawk to perch upon. డేగమొదలైనవి కూర్చుండడమునకై వేటకాని చేతికి కట్టుకొనేచర్మము. 'విడియత్తెమునందల యెత్తి చూచుబల్ సాళువమున్ వడింజనుశశంబుపయిన్ విడిచెన్ మహోద్ధతిన్.' Swa. iv. 82. విడివేట viḍi-vēṭa. n. Falconry, డేగవేట.

(p. 1172) viḍucu or విడ్చు viḍuṭsu. [Tel.] v. n. &a. To relinquish, leave, quit, abandon, give up, loosen, slacken, untie, undo, To cease, to terminate. చాలించుకొను, మానుకొను, వదలుకొను. ఆ చెట్టు నాలుగు కొమ్మలు విడిచినది that tree has produced four branches. వానవిడిచెను the rain is over. గ్రహణము విడిచినది the eclipse is now over. చీడవిడిచినది the plague has ceased. అంటువిడిచినది the impurity has passed away. దయ్యమువిడిచినది the demon has quitted him or let him go. క్రోధమునువిడిచినాడు he has laid aside his wrath. చేనిలో ఆవును మేయవిడిచినాడు he let the cow go to graze on the crop. ఆహారమునువిడిచెను he gave up eating. ప్రాణమునువిడిచెను he gave up eating. ప్రాణమునువిడిచెను he gave up the ghost. ఆమె కన్నీళ్లువిడిచెను she shed tears. బాణమువిడుచు to discharge a rocket. ఆ కోటును విడిచిపోయిరి they quitted the fort. తర్పణమువిడుచు to perform a certaian rite. పట్టినపట్టు విడువడు he will never let go his hold.కుమార్తెను అత్తవారియింట విడిచినాడు he left his daughter at the house of her mother-in-law. దినమువిడిచి దినము on alternate days, every other day. బట్టలువిడుచు to strip. ఊపిరివిడుచు to breathe. వారిని చెయ్యి విడిచినాడు he abandoned them. 'కొంగుకాసువిడిచిగొబ్బుననీరాదు.' Vema. 171. విడిచిపెట్టు viḍichi-peṭṭu. v. a. To relinquish, leave, quit, abandon, give up. To loosen, untie, undo, చాలించుకొను, వదలు. విడిపించు viḍipinṭsu. v. a. To loose, let go, release. విడిచిపెట్టు, వదలు, పోనిచ్చు. విడిపించుకొను viḍipinṭsu-konu. v. n. To escape, get free, break loose, విడివడు, వదలించుకొను. విడుత viḍuta. n. A time, తడవ. ఒకవిడుత once. రెండువిడుతలు twice. విడుదల, విడుపు, విడ్పు or విడుమర viḍu-dala. n. Release, liberation, setting at liberty, freeing, కడతేరడము, నివృత్తి, విమోచనము. విడుదలసన్నదు a deed of surrender or relinquishment. విడుపు also means Almsgiving, దానము. విడుపరి viḍup-ari. n. One who abandons a friend, &c. పరిత్యాగశీలుడు. A liberal man, త్యాగశీలుడు. విడువడు viḍu-vaḍu. (విడుపు+పడు.) v. n. To separate, to be severed. వీడియెడబాయు.

(p. 1212) veravu or వెరువు veravu. [Tel.] n. A contrivance, expedient, device. ఉపాయము. Skill, cleverness, నేర్పు. Livelihood, జీవనోపాయము. Manner, mode, way, విధము అక్కడ జీవము చేయువెరవులేక without the means of living there. 'వెరవునులావులేని ప్రజ వేయువిధంబుల దివ్యబాణవిస్ఫురణము సూపిమాపి.' M. VII. v. 444. 'కాశిబోవువాడు కడగివేడుకతోడవెరవెరింగి మేనువిడిచెనేని.' Vēma. 1018. adj. Proper, యుక్తము. Dependent on, అధీనము. వెరవరి verav-ari. n. A clever, adroit, skillful person; an adept or expert, ఉపాయశాలి, నేర్పరి. వెరవిడి verav-iḍi. n. An unskillful man. ఉపాయహీనుడు.

(p. 1358) sorugu sorugu. [Tel.] n. The drawer of a table or box. పెట్టెలు మొదలయినవాటిలోని అర. A swoon, మూర్ఛ. v. n. To faint, to swoon. మూర్ఛిల్లు. To fade or languish, to fall down. To run away, వాడు, కూలు, పడు, పారిపోవు. 'విషాణశిఖాహతిచే నెమ్ములు విరిగి సొరిగిజీవనము విడిచెన్.' P. i. 241. 'తొలుతపుత్రుని నెచటికో తొలగనంపి, యడవిలోపాము మార్కొన్నదనుచుమొరిగి, కలయేడ్పుల నేడ్చుచు కపటవృత్తి, వెదకుసందునసొరగజూచెదవునీవు.' N. H. v. 53.
