(p. 807) potti potti. [Tel.] n. A thin soft, old cloth, మెత్తని సన్నని పాత వస్త్రము. An integument, coat; skin, bark. నార, పట్ట. కొబ్బరిగల మొదలైనవారిని పొదిగియుండేది. Also, a torch, దివిటీ. పోకపొత్తి the coat or skin covering the upper part of an areca tree. అరిటిపొత్తి the coat or skin on a plantain tree. పొడుముపొత్తి a snuff box, (literally, a piece of bark folded to contain snuff.) పొత్తి or పొత్తిగుడ్డ baby linen. పొత్తినూలు fibres used in garments made of bark. M. XII. vi. 221. పొత్తిపంచ bombasine cloth, woven of silk mixed with cotton. పొత్తిక pottika. n. Same as పొత్తి. Doll's clothes, a gaudy dress for an idol or for a little girl. 'బొమ్మపొత్తికలడిగితికొమ్మ యిందమనుచునిచ్చె తాదెచ్చిన యుంబరములు.' M. IV. v. 308. పొత్తికడుపు potti-kaḍupu. n. The abdomen, or belly below the navel. వస్తి, క్రీగడుపు. పొత్తిగడ్డ potti-gaḍḍa. n. A species of the lotus flower which does not open wide, ముడుగుతామర, నమస్కారి. పొత్తినూలు potti-nūlu. n. Silk thread. పొత్తినూలికాయ or పొత్తినూలిగూడు potti-nūli-kāya. n. A cocoon. పొత్తిలి pottili. n. Baby linen. పొత్తిగుడ్డలు. 'లీలబొత్తిలిమీద లేచి కుర్చుండుచో తద్దయునొక క్రొత్తముద్దుచెలువు.' KP. vi. 207. పొత్తిలి సొర or నల్లదిండి pottili-sora. n. A kind of gourd, Rhynchobatus ancylostomus.

(p. 1191) viśalyamu vi-ṣalyamu. [Skt.] adj. Boneless. Thornless. Free from care or pain. నిర్గతశూలము, నిష్పీడము. విశల్యకరణి vi-ṣalya-karaṇi. n. A plant, Echites dichotoma, (Rox.) సంజీవి. విశల్యుడు vi-ṣalyuḍu. n. One who is free from thorns or spikes, one who is released from care or pain. నిర్గతశూలుడు, పెరకబడినశూలముగలవాడు, బాధ లేకుండాచేయబడ్డవాడు. 'అంతరఘవరుండు సుగ్రీవాదులంవిశల్యులజేసి యలరుచుండె.' (p. 1210) venna venna. [Tel. వెల్ల+నేయి.] n. Butter, నవనీతము. వెన్నడాయి venna-ḍāyi. n. A kind of bird. వెన్నదొంగ or వెన్నముచ్చు venna-donga. n. Lit. the butter-stealer; a name of Krishṇa. కృష్ణుడు. వెన్నపడిదము venna-paḍidamu. n. A kind of sweet cake, ఒకదినుసుపిండివంట. వెన్నపాలకాయ venna-pāla-kāya. n. A kind of cake. ఒకవిధమైన భక్ష్యము. వెన్నపూస venna-pūsa. n. Butter, నవనీతము: (here పూస means a little or a bit, as a pat or bit or butter.) విన్నప్పము venn-appamu. n. A kind of cake. మధురభక్ష్యవిశేషము. వెన్నమడుగు vennamaḍugu n. A kind of cloth. వస్త్రవిశేషము. H. v. 406. వెన్నముద్ద venna-mudda. n. A lump of butter. వెన్నముద్దలు a superior kind of rice, శాలి ధాన్యవిశేషము. 'పాల మీగడలు శ్రీరంగాలుకామదార్లు రామబాణాలు రెక్కాములు వెన్నముద్దలుచిల్మ బుడుమలుదాళువాలు.' H. iv. 176. వెన్నముద్దకోడి venna-mudda-kōḍi. n. A bird called the Spotted Crake, Poryana marnetta (F.B.I.) వెన్నముద్దరాకు venna-mudda-r-āku. n. A plant called Ommelina bengalensis. వెన్నమెరుగు venna-merugu. n. A kind of cake. వెన్నయుండ venna-y-unḍa. n. A kind of cake. మధురభక్ష్యవిశేషము. వెన్నవెదురు venna-veduru. n. A kind of herb. ఒకవిధమైనకూరాకు, విశల్య.

(p. 1274) sañjīvi sanjīvi. [Skt.] n. That which gives or revives life, జీవమును కలుగజేయునది. A medicine which prolongs life. ఆయుస్సును వృద్ధిచేయుమందు. సంజీవకరణి sanjīva-karaṇi. n. A restorative, a cordial, a reviving medicine, a medicine tending to prolong life, or of sufficient efficacy to raise the dead. మళ్లీ బ్రతికించేమందు. 'ఘనతరసంజీవకరణి మోపగను వనితదిగ్గునలేచివచ్చినజూచి.' Sar. D. 675. 'స్థిరమైనయా యౌషధీశైల మెక్కి, కరమొప్పసంజీవకరణి విశల్య, కరణియు సంధానకరణి సౌవర్ణ, కరణినానాలు గౌషధములుగలువు.' DRY. 1504. సంజీవనము san-jīvanamu. adj. Animating, bringing to life. బ్రతికించే.
