(p. 67) abbu abbu. [Tel.] v. n. To come into one's enjoyment, possession, or reach; be obtained or gained. చిక్కు, దొరుకు, లభించు. ప్రాప్తించు. ఇది వీనికి అబ్బేసొమ్ము కాదు the luck is too good to last; that is, he is not worthy of such good fortune, and it will not stick by him. దీన్ని వానికి అబ్బనియ్యరు they will prevent his getting it.

(p. 499) tampi tampi. [Tel.] n. A fire pit, used for boiling water. దాలిగుంట. A quarrel or squabble. కలహము. తంపిపెట్టు tampi-peṭṭu. v. n. To make a slow fire. To create a quarrel. వానికి వీనికి తంపిపెట్టినాడు he made them quarrel.

(p. 729) pasa pasa. [Tel.] n. Sap, essence, సారము. Bloom, vigour, brilliancy, నిగ్గు. కాంతి. సత్త, సారస్యము. Abundance, సమృద్ధి. Skill, చాతుర్యము. 'వగుమొగము మెరుంగులు దశదిశలంబసలు కొలుప జిరునగవుమెరయ.' B. viii. 419. 'ఇవ్వెలదులయందు కూర్మిపస వీనికి నేమియులేదు.' Swa. vi. 74. టీ. కూర్మిపస. అనురాగాతిశయము. పసపడు pasa-paḍu. To be inclined, addicted to, devoted to. రుచిమరుగు. 'పంచేంద్రియముల పసబడకున్న, ముంచువిధంబున మాయునామాయ.' L. v. 2.

(p. 898) beḍiyu beḍiyu. [Tel .] v. n. To separate or fly off as a splinter or a bit. తప్పు, వికలమగు. వీనికివానికి బెడిసినది they are now on bad terms.

(p. 1110) loccu or లొ౛్జు loṭsṭsu. [Tel.] adj. Inferior, less, deficient. తక్కువ. 'మ ఇచ్చెలు లెల్లన్ మనలక్ష్మణాసతికిలొచ్చే సుమ్మురమ్యాకృతిన్.' Chamatk. Manj. ii. 9. 'ధాత్రిగల సార్థివులెల్లను లొచ్చచువీనికిన్.' Chatu. i. 52. line. 10. ఎక్కినవానికి ఏనుగులొజ్జు an elphant is nothing when you are upon it.

(p. 1187) vilakṣaṇamu or విలక్షణత vi-lakshaṇamu. n. Difference. భేదము. 'శక్రాదులందు నొకడు గాడనుచుశ్రుతియేవిలక్షణతదెలిపె.' A. iii. 13. టీ విలక్షణత, వైలక్షణ్యము. విలక్షణము vi-lakshaṇamu. adj. Other, different. భిన్నమైన. Handsome, beautiful, elegant, excellent, select. విశేషలక్షణముగల, సుందరమైన, ఉత్తమమైన, దివ్యమైన, యోగ్యమైన ఇది విలక్షణమైనపడుచు she is a handsome girl. విలక్షణముగా vi-lakshaṇamu-gā. adv. Properly, with propriety, handsomely, excellently. చక్కగా, అందముగా, దివ్యముగా. ఆ పెండ్లి విలక్షణముగా జరిగినది that marriage went off very well. విలక్షణుడు vi-lakshaṇuḍu. n. One who is highly accomplished, a model of excellence. One who differs from the common order, one who has some distinguishing qualities, భిన్నుడు, ఉత్కృష్టుడు. వాడు విలక్షణూడుకాడు he is not a man of strict religious habits. 'వీనికత్యంత విలక్షణుండునునక్షయుండును నట్లగుట నింతయనర్థమూలంబగు.' A. iii. 82.

(p. 1224) vēlu or వ్రేలు vēlu. [Tel.] n. A finger, a toe, a claw. An inch. అంగుళము. పెనువేలు or బొటనవేలు the thumb or great toe. చిటికెనవేలు the little finger or toe. ఆ విద్యలో వాడు వీనికంటె రెండువేళ్లు మించినవాడు that man is a little above this one in learning. వేలువిడిచిన మేనమామ an uncle removed by one step of relationship, lit: by the omission of one finger. ఏమైనా వేలుకు వేలు ఎడమే every two fingers are separate: a proverb, meaning that there is a difference even between those (son, nephews, &c.) who appear to be equally in favour. నోట్లో వేలుపెట్టుకొని పోయినాడు he went off with his finger in his mouth, i.e., he was disappointed or cheated.
