(p. 32) aṭṭu or అట్టుగా aṭṭu. [Tel.] adv. (A particle) So that, as, according to. అతడు వచ్చేటట్టు వ్రాయుము write a letter so that he may come. మీరు చెప్పినట్టుగా చేస్తిని I did as you bid me. ఆయన చెప్పినట్టు according to his order. వాడు ఇంకా అవతలకు పోవునట్టు అగుపడ్డాడు he seemed as though he would go further. నేను చెప్పినట్టు చేసినాడు he did as I said. వారు సాగిపోయినట్టుగా చెప్పెను he said that they had passed on. అట్టు గాక or అట్లాకాక aṭṭugāka. adv. Without being so. అట్టుల aṭṭula. adv. As soon as, soon after. వెంటనే. 'చెట్టు దిగి వచ్చినట్టుల.' H. ii. 47. Just as. ఆప్రకారము. అట్టే (for అట్లాగే) aṭṭē. [Tel.] adv. Thus. So. In the same manner, as it was. అట్టే ఉండనీ leave it as it is. నొప్పి అట్టే ఉన్నది the pain is in the same state. అట్టే పోయినాడు he went off straightway. అట్టే మాట్లాడుతూ ఉండినాడు he was talking straight on. ఆ గుర్రములట్టే ఉన్నవి the horses are as they were: they are untouched.

(p. 54) anucaruḍu anu-charuḍu. [Skt.] n. A follower, an attendant, సహాయుడు, తోడు, వెంటనుండువాడు.

(p. 98) avyavadhānamu a-vyavadhānamu. [Skt.] n. Absence of interval. వ్యవధానములేమి. అవ్యవధానముగా adv. Immediately. వెంటనే, తోడుతోనే.

(p. 353) gaḍḍigamu gaḍḍi-gamu. [Tel.] n. The tube of a drill plough, through which the seed drops. చాలు వెంటనే గింజలుపడడమునకు సాధనము, కొర్రున కూర్చియుండే గొట్టపురీతిసీల.

(p. 1152) vāna vāna. [Tel.] n. Rain, a shower, వర్షము. Plu. వానలు showers. The rainy season, వర్షాకాలము. వానలేనివట్టిపిడుగు lit: a thunderbolt without rain: i.e., mere words without deeds. వానకాళ్లు vāna-kāḷḷu. n. Dark or black streaks in the sky, which are a sign of rain, a Nimbus or raincloud, a water spout, వర్షధారలు. 'శ్యామలోపరినిబిడచ్ఛదాభ్రములకు కాండషండంబుదిగువానకాళ్లు .' Swa. iii. 109. ఉదకధారలు. 'మింటిపైనుండి తనవెంటనంటి వచ్చు కాలసర్పంబులనవానకాళ్లుదనర.' Paidim. iv. 13. వానకోకిల, వానకోయిల or వానకోవెల vāna-kōkila. n. The Coel or Indian Cuckoo. Also used for a swallow or martin. చాతకపక్షి. A harmless water snake of a brown colour, with two light green stripes down the back. వానకురుసినప్పుడు బైటపడే నీళ్లపాము. 'వడిగొని భీతితో వర్షంబురాక కోరుచుండెడివానకోయిలభంగి.' Pal. 15. వాన౛ాలిపులుగు vāna-dzāli-pulugu. n. A swan. హంస. 'అనియలవానజాలిపులుగావనజాక్షిని జీరివేడినన్.' H. iv. 67. వానతరి vāna-tari. n. The rainy season. వర్షాకాలము, వర్షఋతువు. an epithet of the cuckoo. వానపాము or వానవేగు vāna-pāmu. n. An earthworm; (lit: a rain worm. గండూపదము, మహిలత, ఎర్రపాము. వానరాయి vāna-rāyi. n. A hailstone. వడగల్లు.

(p. 1204) veṇṭa venṭa. [Tel. from వెను.] n. Business, కార్యము. An affair, విషయము. A way, మార్గము. Manner, విధము. Hunting , the chase, వేట. adv. and postposition. With, along with, in company with, behind, following after, వెంబడి. ఏవెంట in what manner or way? ఏరీతిగా. నావెంటవచ్చినాడు he came along with me. వీధ్వెంటసరుగెత్తినా he ran along the street. ప్రవాహమువెంట కొట్టుకొనివచ్చిన మానులు the trees that came down the river. వానినోటి వెంట వచ్చినమాటలు the words that slipped out of his mouth. వానిముక్కువెంట నెత్తురుకారుచున్నది he is bleeding at the nose. 'కాలువ వెంటబూచు మల్లికలవనంబనంగ.' Swa. ii. 24. వెంటనంటు or వెంటబడు venṭa-n-anṭu. v. a. To follow, pursue. వెంబడించు. వెంటనే venṭan-ē. adv. and postposition. Immediately, at once, వెంబడిగానే. వారు వచ్చినవెంటనే as soon as they arrived. వెంటబెట్టుకొను venṭa-beṭṭu-konu. v. n. To take along with.

(p. 1210) vennu vennu. [Tel.] n. The back. వీపు. An ear of corn, వరిమొదలైనవాటి ఎన్ను. 'వెనుకచిక్కితిరోయని వెన్నుచరచి.' Lavan. 30. 'చెరకువెన్ను పుట్టిచెరచదాతీ పెల్ల.' Vēma. 17. వాడు నా వెన్నుదన్నుకొని పుట్టినవాడు he was born next after me. వరి వెన్నుతీసినది the crop of grain sprouted. వెన్నుకట్టె or వెన్నుగుదియ vennu-kaṭṭe. n. A back breaker: that is a cudgel. నడుమువిరగకొట్టే కర్ర, భంజకము. 'కుచ్చితవృత్తులకును వెన్నుగిదియ.' L. xv. 107. వెన్నాడు or వెన్నడు venn-āḍu. v. a. To follow closely, to pursue, వెంబడించు. 'ఇట్లు వెన్నాడియలసి కాదిదిమృగంబుమాయయోయేమొ.' R. v. 160. v. n. To toss about (supine) on the back. వీపున ఇటుఅటుకదలు. 'గుదిగొనివెన్నాడు కుసుమపుంజముతోడ.' (Ila. i. 10.) టీ వెన్నాడు. వీపునకదలుచుండే. వెన్నిచ్చు venn-iṭsṭsu. v. n. To retreat, run away. వెనుకదీయు. 'పగతురకు వెన్నియ్య పాటిగాదయ్య' Pal. 419. వెన్నదంతి vennu-danti. n. A kind of harrow. చోడకంకి జొన్నకంకి మొదలైనవి నూర్చునప్పుడు బయలుదేరు బూగరపోవుటకును నేముటకును సాధనమైన గొడ్డలివంటి నాలుగైదు పండ్లుగలమాను. వెన్నుదన్ను vennu-dannu. v. n. To stand behind, వెనుకనిలుచు. v. a. To follow, pursue, వెంబడించు. వెన్నుపట్టె, వెన్నుగాడి, వెన్నుబద్ద or వెన్నుమ్రాను vennu-paṭṭe. n. The roof tree, the chief beam or ridge of the roof. మొగటివాసము ఇంటినడికొప్పుమ్రాను. వెన్నుపట్టె vennu-paṭṭe. n. The spine or backbone, వీపు వడిమియెముక. వెన్నుపాము vennu-pāmu. n. The spinal marrow, కుండలి, వెన్నుఎముకలో నుండేమూలగ. వెననుపూస vennu-pūsa. n. The spine, వీపునడిమియెముక. One joint of the backbone. వెన్నెముకలోన ఒక గణువు. వెన్నెముక venn-emuka. n. The spine or backbone. కశేరుక. వెన్నంటు or వెన్నంటిపోవు venn-anṭu. v. a. To pursue closely, to follow. వెంబడించిపోవు. వెన్నడి or వెన్నడిని venn-aḍi. adv. Along with. వెంటనే, వెంబడి. 'ఇక్కడ ప్రాణముల్ విడిచియేదివికేగెదు నీదువెన్నడిన్ నిక్కమునీవు నవ్విడిచి.' BRK. 340. వెన్నడించు or వెన్నడికొను vennaḍ-inṭsu. v. a. To follow after, వెంబడించు. See వెను and వెనుక.

(p. 1222) vēmuḍu or వేమడు vēmuḍu. [Tel.] n. A name used for God. దేవుడు. 'ఆమడ కామడకడవులు, గ్రామములున్ జెరువునదులుకర్మములిమతే, తామెందులోన దిరిగిన, వేమడుతోడగుచువచ్చు వెంటనె.' Vēma. 2150.
