(p. 399) ghaṇṭa ghanṭa. [Skt.] n. A bell. గంట. ఘంటాపథము ghanṭa-pathamu. n. The king's high way; so called because resounding with elephants' bells. పదిబారలు వెడల్పుగల రాజమార్గము, బాట. ఘంటాపథముగా as clear as the day, openly ఘంటాపథముగా మాట్లాడుట to talk decisively or openly. cf. 'They shall say in all the high ways.' Amos. v. 16. ఘంటారవము ghanṭā-ravamu. n. Ringing: the sound of a bell. The plant crotolaria. W. గిలిగిచ్చచెట్టు.

A brush, కుంచె. తాటిపట్టె a palmyra rafter. నవారు పట్టె a broad tape. పట్టెమంచము a cot the bottom of which is woven with broad tape. పట్టెతీయు to use the harrow. నున్నపుపట్టె a streak of chunam. పట్టెలు తీర్చినకెంపు a ruby cut into facets. ద్వార బంధువుపట్టె the lintel or top of a door. టంగుపట్టె a girth. యోగపట్టె a hermit's girdle. ఒకపట్టెనేల a piece of land. నీరుపారేపట్టె a canal or water course. పట్టెమారుపు check-colors in a cloth. వస్త్రములోని ఒకవిధమైన చిత్రవర్ణము. పట్టె వర్ధనము paṭṭe-vardhanamu. n. A broad caste-mark worn in the forehead, వెడల్పుగా నుండుబొట్టు.

(p. 707) panaṭi or పనంటి panaṭi. [Tel.] n. A cooking pot, వంటకుండ. A pot, కుండ. A large pot or boiler, పెద్దకాగు, మూతివెడల్పుగల యటిక. 'ఘమ్మరనిపన్నీరుదొలికెడు గంటివేయివి గాజుపనటులు.' S. i. 154. 'ఎసరుపెట్టిన పెద్ద పనంటిబోలె.' A. i. 10.

(p. 718) pariṇāhamu pariṇāhamu. [Skt.] n. Extent, breadth, width. విశాలత, వెడల్పు. M. iv. 412. పరిణాహుడు pariṇāhuḍu. n. A great man. విశాలతగలవాడు. 'సమకీర్తపరినా హునకున్.' R. i. 100. cf. 'Broad-based, upon her people's will.'

(p. 802) pokālu, pokālipōvu, pōkālu or పోకాలిపోవు pokālu. [Tel.] v. n. To go off, to be freed, వెడలు, పోవు. To perish, to be ruined. నాశమైపోవు. (The use of this word implied hatred or strong aversion.) 'శా బ్రాహ్మ్యమింకోహోచాలుబొకాలిపోయెదరొ పోరోనోటిక్రొవ్వేటికిన్.' Swa. vi. 51.

(p. 858) baṇḍa banḍa. [Tel.] n. A rock, a block or slab of stone. రాయి, వెడల్పురాయి. A short pounder or pestle without a ferrule, పొన్నులేని రోకలి, పొట్టిరోకలి. A much used block, a worn out stone. అరిగినది. (Meta-phorically), a block head, an obstinate, stubborn man. adj. Shameless, importunate. Mischievous, naughty, wicked, obscene, indecent, ఆకతాయి. బండాట banḍāṭa. (బండ+ఆట.) n. Mischief, naughtiness, ఆకతాయితనము. బండవ్యాజ్యము a litigious case. బండడు, బండ or బండగుడు banḍaḍu. n. A dullard, a mischievous person, a stupid man. బండవాడు banḍavāḍu. n. A class of beggars, who go with a stone in their hands with which they threaten to beat out their brains unless relieved, రాయియెత్తుకొని వచ్చి అడుగుకొనేవాడు.

(p. 867) bayalu , బయిలు or బైలు bayalu. [Tel.] n. The outside. An open place, open country, బహిఃప్రదేశము, చెట్లుచేమలులేని చోటు. The sky, ఆకాశము. adj. Empty, unoccupied, శూన్యము. బయలుతామర bayalu-tāmara. n. The land lotus, మెట్టతామర. బయలుదేరు or బయలువెడలు bayalu-dēru. v. n. To come out, to go out, to start, నిర్గమించు. To come to light, to be discovered. బయలుపడు, బయల్పడు, బయలుపోవు or బయలుమెరము bayalu-paḍu. v. n. To make its appearance, to become visible, ప్రకాశితమగు. A large flat bottomed boat, a raft. వెడలుపైన అడుగుగల పడవ. బల్లకూర్పు balla-kūrpu. n. Wainscotting, planking, joiner's work. బల్లకూర్పుటిల్లు a house built of boards. బల్లకోల balla-kōla. n. A sort of spear of harpoon. పంట్రకోల. 'భ్రమితేంద్రియములను బలునిర్రె నేసి, భాషాప్రణీతమన్బలుబల్లకోల, నీషణత్రయమను నెలుగుకన్నొడిచి.' BD. v. 1443. బల్లగోలలవారు balla-gōlala-vāru. n. Lancers. 'వరుసనుబహుపుష్ఫ వాటికల్ నాటి, జాలవారిని దివ్వటీలను బల్లగోలలవారిని గుడిపూజరులను.' BD. iii. 1016.

(p. 891) buḍuta or బుడత buḍuta. [Tel.] n. A little one, a child. శిశువు, బిడ్డ. బాలుడు. 'ఒక పాటిబుడత, యాకుమాడువులందియ్య.' H. i. 134. A. vi. 159. adj. Little. Short, పొట్టి. బుడతగాడ్పు a gentle breeze. 'క్రూరభుజంగా స్యకుమారంబుననుజొచ్చి వెడలుసాహసియైన బుడుతగాడ్పు.' Bmj. iii. 132. బుడుతడు buḍutaḍu. n. A male child. బాలుడు.
