(p. 62) aparamu a-paramu. [Skt.] adj. Other, another, latter. అన్యము, ఉత్తరము. అపరక్రియలు n. Obsequies, funeral rites. దినవారాలు, కర్మాంతరము. అపరధాన్యములు or అపరాలు or అపరదినుసులు other kinds of grain, miscellaneous grains, all sorts of grain in pods, such as beans, &c. కాయధాన్యములు. One verse says. 'ఉత్తరే పూర్వసస్యాని అపరస్యానిరేవతౌ.' అపరనామము n. A second name. రెండో పేరు. అపర భాగము n. The hind part, వెనుకటి భాగము. అపరమంత్రములు n. Funeral prayers. అపరరాత్రి midnight, the latter half of the night. అపరలోకము another world. అపరవారధి the western ocean. వాడు పూర్వాపరములు చేయించగలడు he is qualified as priest to solemnize both the marriage and funeral rites. అపరాహ్నము or అపరాహ్ణము [Skt. అపర+అహ్నము.] n. (p. 92) avaṭamu avaṭamu. [Skt.] n. A hole in the ground, a cavity, a pit, a well. గొయ్యి, బొక్క, నుయ్యి. అవటువు avaṭuvu. [Skt.] n. The back of the neck. పెడతల, అనగా, మెడ వెనుకటి భాగము, ముచ్చిలిగుంట. 'ఉన్నమి తావటు విలభిహారంబుల బేరెంబులవారెనో యనన్.' Vasu. iv. 39. 'అవటుకచంబువాని.' A. vi. 23. టీ పెడ తలను మాత్రమే వెంట్రుకలు గలవానిని.

(p. 122) āreboṭṭe āre-boṭṭe. [Tel.] n. The sharp claw that is on the back of a cock's leg. కోడి కాలి వేలికి వెనుకతట్టున సూదివలె మిక్కిలి వాడిగానుండే ఒంటిగోరు.

(p. 134) iggu iggu. [Tel.] v. a. To pull, haul, drag, jerk, struggle. Subh. ii. 30. To incline to a side or backwards. ఒరుగు, వెనుకకు ఒరుగు. ఇగ్గులడు iggul-āḍu. v. To pull, to jerk, to struggle. ఇగ్గులాట iggu-l-āṭa. n. Struggling, jerking, pulling backwords. వెనుకకీడ్చుట.

(p. 203) aidu aidu. [Tel. for అయిదు] adj. Five. ఐదుగురు for అయిదుగురు five persons అయిదుమంది. అయిదు పది చేయు to salute, to bow to. నమస్కరించు. To be defeated, to lose ఓడిపోవు (ఓడిపోవువారు చేతులుకూర్చి మొక్కుదురు గనుక దీనికి ఓడిపోవుట అని అర్ధము వచ్చినది) 'సుస్థిరభుజశక్తి నైదుపది చేయరు దత్తిసెతక్క' ఆము. ii. (p. 220) ōhaṭamu ōhaṭamu. [Tel.] n. Withdrawal, retreat వెనుక తీయుట. ఓహటించు or ఓహటిల్లు ōhaṭinṭsu. v. t. To retire, retreat, fall back వెనుకతీయు, to give way తొలగు, to be worsted ఓడు, యుద్ధపరాఙ్ముఖుడగు. 'పంజ్తిముఖుండు సంగ్రామంబున రామునికోహటించిపరాజయ దైన్యంబుసయింపజాలక.' Bry. 941.

(p. 220) ōharisāhari ōhari-sāhari. [Tel.] adv. Pell mell, in a rout, backwards and forwards. వెనుకకు ముందరికి. అటమటముగా పెసగి. తండోపతండము. 'ఉభయబలంబులుంబురికొని యోహరిసాఃరిపెనగుచుండె' M. VII. iii. 148.

(p. 280) kāse , కాస or కాసియ kāse. [Tel.] n. The truss of a man's or woman's outer garment, which is passed loosely between the knees and tucked in the waist behind. A girdle దట్టి హనుమంతకాసె a garb worn by masquers, with a monkey's tail. A truss, or modesty piece. గోచి. A truss, the flap of a garment. ఇనుపకాసె కట్టిన straitlaced, severe in chastity. కాసెలు కొనిరి they girded themselves for battle. కాసెపోయు to tuck up the cloth బట్టను గోచివలె వెనుకకు దోపు.

A puzzle, perplexity, intricacy, confusion, entanglement, difficulty, distress, trouble. సంకటము, ఇబ్బంది. చిక్కులుపడు to be in distress or to get into difficulty సంకటపడు. చిక్కులబెట్టు to entangle, to involve, puzzle, to distress or harass; to pinch or stint. చిక్కతీయు to disentangle. చిక్కుగానున్నది it is puzzling. చిక్కుపడ్డ tangled or dishevelled as hair, చిక్కయిన. చిక్కుపాటు entanglement. చిక్కుపడుట, సంకటపడుట. చిక్కు adj. Puzzling, perplexing, entangled, intricate, confused, difficult, troublesome, baffled. చిక్కుజడలు tangled hair. చిక్కుకంపు a rancid smell (of oil .) చిక్కుతాళము. n. A lock with many wards, and which, like a patent lock, can only be opened by those who know it.
