(p. 313) koṅku konku. [Tel.] v. n. To be timid, alarmed: to fear, to dread, to hesitate. భయపడు, వెనుదీయు, సంకోచించు. n. Fear. Timidity, shyness. వెనుదీయుట. Hesitation. సంకోచము. Shame, scruple. surmise. Distortion, as that of a cripple. కొంకుకొసరులేని careless and heedless. కొంకుపోవక unterrified. కొంకుపడు konku-paḍu. v. n. To fear. భయపడు. To hesitate సంకోచించు. To trip, stumble, blunder. కొంకుపాటు fearing, hesitation. కొంకుపోవు konku-pōvu. n. To become crooked or bent. కొంకరలుపోవు.

(p. 456) chalamu , ఛలార్థము or ఛలోక్తి chhalamu. [Skt.] n. A trick, a stratagem: an innuendo or covert meaning. A double entendre నెపము, వెనుదీయుట, ఒక అభిప్రాయముతో చెప్పిన పదమునకు మరొక అభిప్రాయము చేసుకొని ఉత్తరము చెప్పుట.

(p. 1232) vyatīpātamu vy-atī-pātamu. [Skt.] n. The seventeenth of the astrological Yogas, ఒకగ్రహయోగము, పంచాంగయోగభేదము. A portent, a prodigy indicating calamity, as a comet, earthquake, &c. అత్యుత్పాతము, ఉపద్రవము. Applied figuratively to a naughty, troublesome, mischievous child. Contempt, అనాదరము. Fleeing from a battle, యుద్ధమున వెనుదీయుట. ఒరేపోరా వ్యతీపాత go along, you fool! 'అలుకహిమరశ్మినిజకిరణాళినించి యామహాతాపమణగింప నప్పుడుష్ణశీత సంయోగమునన వ్యతీపాతసమజ్ఞ బొడమెనొక్కడు ముజ్ఝగంబులువడంక.'
