(p. 647) nāsīramu nāsīramu. [Skt.] n. The van of an army. అగ్రేసరసైన్యము, ముందర వెళ్లుదండు, సేనాముఖము. Pride, దర్పము. నాసీరుడు nāsīruḍu. n. A leader, a captain. A. vi. 171. సేనాముఖమందు నిలిచినవాడు.

(p. 1072) rājyamu rājyamu. [Skt.] n. Rule, government. Administration of government, sovereignty. దొరతనము, ఏలుబడి, ప్రభుత్వము. A kingdom, principality, country, ఒక రాజు ఏలే దేశము. అతడు రాజ్యము చేయుచుండగా while he reigned. మారాజ్యమునకు వెళ్లుచున్నాను I am going to my own country. ఇది అడవి రాజ్యము this is a forest country or land. రాజ్యభ్రష్టులై being expelled from the kingdom.

(p. 1074) rātri rātri. [Skt.] n. Night. As an adverb, at night. This means to night or last night according as the verb is past or future. రాత్రివచ్చిరి they came last night. రాత్రివెళ్లుతాడు he goes to night. అర్ధరాత్రి midnight. రాత్రియిల్లుచొచ్చచి entering the house at night. 'రాత్రి కాదిదికాలరాత్రి కాబోలు' (Dab. 206.) this is not night but the shadow of death. Plural రాత్రులు or (vulgurly) రాత్రిళ్లు. రాత్రించరుడు or రాత్రిచరుడు rātrin-charuḍu. n. A night wanderer, i.e., a goblin or fiend. రాక్షసుడు, దయ్యము. A thief, a patrol, దొంగ, రాత్రిళ్ల నగరశోధనచేయు తలారివాడు. రాత్రింబగళ్లు rātrim-bagaḷḷu. n. Night and day. అహర్నిశము, రరేయిబగలు. రాతిరి Same as రాత్రి. 'పగలురాతిరి రాతిరి బగలుజేసె.' A. iv. 146. రాత్రము rātramu. n. Night. A word only used in compounds as త్రిరాత్రము three whole days. అర్ధరాత్రము midnight. అహోరాత్రము a day and night, i.e., a whole day.

(p. 1211) veyyi , వెయి or వేయి veyyi. [Tel.] n. A thousand. సహస్రము. వెయిమంది a thousand persons. పదివేలు ten thousand: (this in many places means many.) వెళ్లుమని పదివేలమాట్లు చెప్పినా వాడు వెళ్లలేదు though I told him to go a thousand times he did not go away. వెయ్యేల or వెయిమాటలేల why a thousand words? why say more? i.e., in a word, after all. వెయ్యి కాళ్లజెర్రి veyyi-kāḷḷa-jerri. n. Lit: a thousand-legged centipede. A restless wanderer. వాడు వెయ్యికాళ్లజెర్రి. వానికి ఎక్కడ తీరును he has a thousand jobs in hand, he has no leisure. పదివేలకైనా or పదివేలకున్ను వాణ్ని నమ్మవచ్చును we may trust him in every thing.

(p. 1217) veḷlu vellu. [Tel. short for వెడలు.] v. n. To go, proceed, depart. To pass, or elapse. To be emitted. పోవు. కడువువెళ్లుచున్నది the bowels are loose. నాలుగుదినములు వెళ్లినతర్వాత after four days passed. కడవెళ్ల చదివినాడు he read it to the end. పొలిమేర వెళ్లదొక్కు to read the boundary line, i.e., to settle the boundary. వెళ్లగక్కు veḷl-gakku. v. a. To vomit up, disgorge, refund, వమనముచేయు, మళ్లియిచ్చివేయు. వెళ్లజేయు, వెళ్లగొట్టు or వెళ్లించు veḷla-jēyu. v. a. To drive out, chase away, eject, expel, పోవజేయు.' తిరిగిపోయిన మరితెలియంగజెప్పి భూమి వెళ్లింతుముపొందైనభంగి.' Pal. 449. వెళ్లదీయు veḷḷa-dīyu. v. a. To take out or extract, బయటికితీయు. వెళ్లిపోవు veḷḷi-pōvu. v. n. To go away, depart.
