(p. 160) unmūlamu un-mūlamu. [Skt.] adj. Radical. or from the root వేరుతెగిన. ఉన్మూలముగా radically, by the roots. ఉన్మూలించు un-mūlinṭsu. v. t. To root up, eradicate, destroy. పెల్లగించు. ఉన్మూలితము unmūlitamu. adj. Eradicated, pulled up by the roots. వేరుతో పెల్లగింపబడిన.

(p. 557) togaru togaru. [Tel.] n. Red colour, scarlet. ఎరుపు. Scarlet thread ఎర్రమాలు. (There are three species of red dye. The best sort is called చిరువేరుతొగరు; the next sort is మారుబేరము తొగరు; and the worst, మడ్డితొగరు.) A certain fragrant flower. adj. Red. ఎర్రని. తొగరుమల్లి togaru-malli n. A sort of crystal. తొగరు ముక్కుపులుగు the scarlet beaked bird, i.e., a parrot. తొగరుచెట్టు togaru-cheṭṭu. n. A tree from which a red dye is made. Logwood Morinda citrifolia. తొగరుకొను togaru-konu. v. n. To become red. ఎర్రనగు.

(p. 1005) mudra mudra. [Skt.] n. A seal: a seal ring, or signet. The stamp, print, or impression of a seal. A distinguishing mark impressed or burned upon a man or beast. Coinage. మునుపటిముద్ర రూపాయి a rupee of the old coinage. Gesticulation, attitude. మౌనముద్ర the seal of silence, i.e., silence. నిద్రాముద్ర the seal of sleep, i.e., sound sleep. జ్ఞానముద్ర a particular position of the fingers used in religious ceremonies. ముద్రలు marks impressed upon sand or clay placed on heaps of grain, the permanent marks made on the shoulders representing the insignia of Vishnu which are the shell and the wheel, &c. వాడు ముద్రాధారణము చేసికొనినాడు he received the seals, i.e., his shoulders were sealed with the shell and wheel of Vishṇu. మధ్యులు గోపిముద్రలు వేసికొందురు they wear patches of brown clay. వానికి శునకముద్ర వేసినారు they stamped him with the figure of a dog. ముద్రకర్త mudra-karta. n. An apparitor, the lowest local officer attached to a Guru or priest, ఆయా స్థలములలో గురువుయొక్క తాబేదారుగానుండేవాడు. ముద్రకోల mudra-kōla. n. A stamp to mark or seal with. The insignia of Vishnu, being the shell and wheel made in copper. ముద్రవేయు సాధనము, ముద్రధారణముచేయు సుదర్శన పాంచజన్యములు. ముద్రగడ mudra-gaḍa. n. A sceptre, a royal staff. 'తన ముద్రగడవేరుతలగ బట్టించి.' Pal. 450. A wooden stamp. ముద్రగరిటె mudra-gariṭe. n. A ladle shaped mace or large spoon borne in state before a person in authority, దేశాయీలు మొదలైనవారిముందర బిరుదుగా తీసికొనిపోవు గంటలుగల యిత్తడిగరిటె. ముద్రణము mudraṇamu. n. Setting one's seal to. ముద్రించుట. Dooming, giving a decision, సిద్ధాంతప్రతిపాదనము. 'కనకాద్రిముద్రణగ్రంథకర్త.' A. ii. 45. టీ మేరుపునందును తన ముద్ర చెల్లించువాడు. ముద్ర తీసివేయు mudra-tīsi-vēyu. v. a. To unseal. ముద్రాధారణము mudrā-dhāra-ṇamu. n. Sealing , i.e., the act of impressing the shell and wheel of Vishnu on either shoulder. చక్రంకనము చేసికొనుట. ముద్రపలక mudra-palaka. n. A wooden stamp for sealing a heap of corn. ధాన్యరాశిమీద ముద్ర వేసేపలక. ముద్రమనిషి mudra-manishi. n. A sealer, i.e., a bailiff who seals heaps of corn. అంబారములకు ముద్ర వేయు బంట్రౌతు. ముద్రవేయు mudra-vēyu. v. a. To seal. ఈబోగమువాండ్లు ఆగుడికి ముద్రవేయబడినారు these dancing girls are dedicated to that temple. ముద్రాంకితము mudr-ānkitamu. adj. Sealed, marked with a seal. ముద్రవేయబడిన. ముద్రాంకితుడు mudr-āankituḍu. adj. One who is impressed with shoulder. సమాశ్రయణము. చేసికొన్నవాడు. ముద్రాక్షరశాల mudr-āksharu-ṣāla. n. A press or printing office. అచ్చుయిల్లు, అచ్చుకూటము. ముద్రించు mudrinṭsu. v. a. To seal. ముద్రవేయు, అచ్చువేయు. 'మృషావాదింజేయుదు ననుతలంపు ముద్రించి.' HN. v. 176. ముద్రిక mudrika. n. A seal ring, శిఖాఉంగరము. ముద్రితము mudritamu. adj. Sealed, marked, stamped, closed. ముద్రవేయబడిన, మూసికొనిన, ముకుళితమైన.

(p. 1224) vēru vēru. [Tel.] n. A root. మూలము. plu. వేరులు or వేళ్లు. వేరిడి vēr-iḍi. [వేరు+ఇడి.] n. A fool, a mad man. అవివేకి, వెర్రివాడు, వెర్రిస్త్రీ.' వృథాబోధకుండు వేరిడికాడే.' P. i. 729. వేరిడించు vēriḍintsu. v. n. To cause to become foolish, అవివేకమునుపొందజేయు. వేరుపారు or వేరుతన్ను vēru-pāru. v. a. To take root. వేరుపనస vēru-panasa. n. [Skt.] (In composition,) with, together with సకుటుంబముగా together with one's family. సగుణము having (or endowed with) properties or qualities. సజాతీయము of the same tribe, of the same species. సటీక accompanied with a commentary. సదియుడు one who is kind or good. స పత్రము having wings, రెక్కలుగల. సమర్మకముగా in full detail, circumstantially, with all the particulars, minutely, దాచకుండా. సమూలము together with the root, having a root, entire, వేరుతోకూడా, యావత్తు. వారు సమూలముగా నాశమైనారు they are ruined, root and branch. సమేలంపు derisory, satirical. Pref. 87. సవిస్తారముగా at full length, extensively, with all the particulars, completely, to the full, వివరముగా. సవినయముగా respectfully. సవినయుడై modestly. సహిరణ్యోదకపూర్వకముగా entirely; (lit. with money and water) - a phrase used in making gifts. సహృదయుడు a good hearted man. సహేతుకము reasonable, well grounded. కారణముతోగూడిన. సహేతుకముగా with the reason or the grounds, కారణసహితముగా. సాకూతము significant, అభిప్రాయసహితమైన. సాకూతస్మితము a wanton glance. A. iv. 41. సానుకూలము favour or kindness, success, ఉపకారము. ఆ పని వానికి సానుకూలమైన తరువాత when he succeeded in that affair. అది సానుకూలముకాక పోయినది it did not succeed. సానుకూలము favourable, kind, ఉపకారమైన. సానుకూలమైన మాట favourable word. సానుకూలముగా favourably, kindly, ఉపకారముగా. సాపత్న్యము the condition of a co-wife, the state of being or having a rival wife, సపత్నీభావము, సవతితనము. 'నీకనుపమసాపత్న్య సంపాదనంబు.' A. ii. 24. 'సాపత్న్యమునను గాకసైరింపగలదెయేకడపపత్నీ.' N. iii. 122. సాపత్న్యుడు an enemy, శత్రువు; the son of a co-wife. సుపత్నీపుత్రుడు. సాపరాధి a culprit, offender, sinner, he who is guilty, నేరస్థుడు. సావకాశము leisure, spare time, an interval, తీరిక, వ్యవధానము. సావధానముగా carefully, diligently, attentively, with due heed, జాగ్రతతో.

(p. 1269) saṃ or సమ్ sam. [Skt.] prefix. When used with Skt. nouns and adjectives, it means beautiful, చక్కని. Much, very, మిక్కిలి. Places before verbs, it means Well, చక్కగా. See. సంక్షోభము, సంక్షోభించు, సంఘటిల్లు, సంచరించు, సంచలించు, సంతుష్టి, సందర్శించు, సంపూర్ణము, సంపూర్తి, సంప్రాప్తి, సంప్రీతి, సంయుక్తము, సంయుతము, సంయోగము, సంరక్షించు, సంస్తుతి, &c. It also means With, together with. సమంచితము worshipped, revered, పూజ్యమైన. సమధికము exceeding, abundant, plentiful, ఎక్కువైన, మిక్కుటమైన, మిక్కిలి అధికమైన. సమన్వితము joined, united, combined, కూడుకొన్న. సంయుక్తమైన. సమర్పించు to give to the great, to offer presents to superiors. పూజ్యులకు ఇచ్చు. సమర్పితము offered, presented, given to superiors, పూజ్యులకు ఇవ్వబడ్డ. సమర్పణ giving to superiors, a thing presented to the great, an offering, పూజ్యులకు ఇయ్యడము పూజ్యులకు ఇచ్చిన వస్తువు. సమవధానంబుతో attentively, జాగ్రతతో. సమాకర్షి far spreading, as scent. సమాకీర్ణము dishevelled, shed, scattered, sprinkled, intersprersed, చల్లబడ్డ, వెదచల్లబడ్డ. సమాగతము that which is come right, చక్కగావచ్చిన; got, obtained, పొందిన. సమాగమము union, junction; a coming, arrival. coming together, meeting, assembling. చేరడము, కూడడము. కలియడము. రావడము. సమాదరము respect, esteem, honour, సన్మానము, మర్యాద. సమాదృతము respected, esteemed, సన్మానించబడ్డ. గొప్పచేయబడ్డ. సమాశ్లిష్టము embraced, కౌగిలించుకొన్న. సమాశ్వాసము consolation, condolence, soothing, comforting, సాంత్వనము, ఓదార్చడము. సమిద్ధము shinning, glowing, blazing, ప్రకాశమానమైన. BX. 68. సముచితము proper, right, fit, యోగ్యమైన, న్యాయమైన. సముచ్ఛ్రయము height, elevation, ఔన్నత్యత; opposition, వినోధము. సముచ్ఛ్రాయము height, elevation, ఔన్నత్యము. సముచ్ఛ్రితము high, tall, lifted up, raised, పాడుగైన, ఉన్నతమైన. సముచ్ఛ్రితుడు he who is high or elevated, ఉన్నతుడు. సముఝ్ఘితము abandoned, left, quitted. త్యజింపబడ్డ, విడువబడ్డ. సమత్కటము much, excessive; drunk, mad, furious; superior, high, మిక్కుటమైన, తాగి మదించిన, వెర్రి, శ్రేష్ఠమైన, ఉన్నతమైన, సముత్సుకము high, lofty, tall, ఉన్నతమైన. నముతుకము zealously active, fond of, attached to, మిక్కిలి అభిలాషగల. సముత్సుకుడు one who is eager, ఆశగలవాడు. యాత్రా సముత్సుకుడై wishing to make a journey. సముదంచితము worshipped; thrown up, tossed. పూజితమైన, విసరబడ్డ, వ్యాపింపబడ్డ. సముదగ్రము high, tall, large, vast, ఉన్నతమైన, స్థూలమైన, సముదగ్రత height, tallness, largeness, ఔన్నత్యము, స్థౌల్యము. సముదీర్ణము generous, great, excellent, intense, దాతయైన, దివ్యమైన. 'సముదీర్ణవాహుదర్పోజ్వలులైన పుత్రులు.' M. XV. ii. 185. సముద్గతము produced, born, పుట్టిన, ఉత్పన్నమైన. సముద్గమము birth, production, ఉత్పత్తి, కలుగడము, సముద్దండము violent, fierce, ప్రచండమైన, సముద్యతము ready, prepared, సిద్ధమైన. సముద్ధతము rude, ill mannered, misbehaved, మోట, పెడసరమైన, ధూర్తమైన. సముద్ధతి ill behaviour, effrontery, audacity, misbehaviour, ధుర్తత, దుర్మార్గము. 'తనరొమ్ముకరసముద్ధతి గ్రుద్దుకొనుచు.' Sar.
