(p. 707) panasa panasa. [from Skt. పణ్ణాస.] n. A verse in a chapter in the Vēda: వేద భాగము. పనసచెట్టు panasa-cheṭṭu. n. The jack-fruit tree. Artocarpus integrifolia. (Watts.) చెట్టుపనస or వేరుపనస the species of this tree, the fruits of which issue from the root. పనిసమాను the outrigger of a boat, పడవపొరలకుండ పక్కను కట్టేమ్రాను. పనసవాండ్లు panasa-vānḍlu. [Tel.] n. plu. Mountebanks. The name of a caste of men employed in menial offices, particularly to blow trumpets or conches at funerals. కంసాలులను యాచించే వారు. పనసవర్తన fees given to them.

(p. 1224) vēru vēru. [Tel.] n. A root. మూలము. plu. వేరులు or వేళ్లు. వేరిడి vēr-iḍi. [వేరు+ఇడి.] n. A fool, a mad man. అవివేకి, వెర్రివాడు, వెర్రిస్త్రీ.' వృథాబోధకుండు వేరిడికాడే.' P. i. 729. వేరిడించు vēriḍintsu. v. n. To cause to become foolish, అవివేకమునుపొందజేయు. వేరుపారు or వేరుతన్ను vēru-pāru. v. a. To take root. వేరుపనస vēru-panasa. n. A plant called Polyanthes tuberosa. వేరుసెనగ vēru-senaga. n. The ground nut. Arachis hypogœa (Watts.) వేరునకాచే సెనగలు. వేరువిత్తు vēru-vittu. n. A bane, ruin, destroyer. నాశకము, నాశకుడు.
