(p. 302) kūku kūku. [Tel. for కుంకు.] n. To set (as the sun or moon.) క్రుంకు. పొద్దుకూకినది the sun has set. పొద్దుగూకేవేళకు by sunset.

(p. 733) pāṭamu pāṭamu. [Tel.] adj. Proper, fitting, ఇది కెంపులు చూడడమునకు పాటమైన వేళకాదు this is not a proper time of day to examine the rubies.

(p. 779) pūṭa pūṭa. [Tel.] n. A time. కాలము. A part of a day. సంధ్య. A day, దినము. Security, surety, bail. ప్రతిభూత్వము. One who stands bail for another. పూటకాపు. పగటిపూట in the day time. రాత్రిపూట at night. తెల్లవారుపూట in the morning. నాలుగుపూటలు మందిచ్చినాడు he administered medicine two mornings and two evenings. పూటకాపు pūṭa-kāpu. n. One who stands security. ప్రతిభువు. ౛ామీనుదారుడు. పూటకూడు food obtained by paying for each meal, boarding. ఏపూటకు ఆపూట సొమ్ము ఇచ్చి తినుట, వెలతీసుకొని వేళవేళకు పెట్టెడు అన్నము. పూటకూళ్లయిల్లు an inn or boarding house. పూటకూళ్లమ్మ a woman who makes her living by preparing food for daily wages. పూటపెట్టు or పూటవెట్టు. v. a. To give bail. పూటబడు or పూటబడు pūṭa-baḍu. v. n. To stand bail. అతడు నాకు పూటబడినాడు he stood security for me, అతడు నాకు ౛ామీనుగానున్నాడు. పూటసాక్షి a hired or false witness. దొంగసాక్షి, బూటకపు సాక్షి. పూటపూటకును ఇదే రచ్చ this is the daily plague, ఎల్లప్పుడు ఇదే పోరు or రంధి. పూటవాటు pūṭa-vāṭu. n. The act of standing security for another.

(p. 1205) vekali or వెక్కలి vekali. [from Skt. వికలః.] n. A foolish woman or man, వెర్రిది, వెర్రివాడు. మూఢుడు. An eager man, ఆసక్తుడు. 'ఒకవేళకూనరాగము లొక వేళన్ వెకలినవ్వు.' Satyabhama. iii. 126.

(p. 1225) vēḷa vēḷa. [Skt.] n. Time, a time, period or opportunity. కార్యోచితసమయము. కాలము. తరి. ఈవేళ to day, this time. ఆవేళ that day, that time. ఇంకొకవేళరండి come another time. ఒకవేళ perhaps. గంటవేళ one hour's time. రాత్రివేళ night time. సంధ్యవేళ the evening. ఆవేళన్ at that time. వేళలు (or సమయములు) కాచుచుండెడివారు they who watch for an opportunity. అట్లుచెప్పేవేళకు on his saying so. వాడు వేళాపాళాచూడడు he does not care for time or season. వేళము vēḷamu. [from Skt. వేళ.] adv. Quickly, త్వరితముగా.

(p. 1303) samīpamu samīpamu. [Skt.] n. Nearness, proxiṃity, దగ్గిర, చేరువ. ఆయన సమీపమందు నిలిస్తిని I stood near him. adj. Near. దగ్గిరనున్న, మధ్యాహ్నము సమీపమైనది it is near noon. సమీపస్థుడు samīpa-sthuḍu. n. A bystander. దగ్గిరనున్నవాడు. సమీపించు samī-pinṭsu. v. n. To come near, approach, be imminent. దగ్గిరకువచ్చు. వానితండ్రికి కాలము సమీపించేవేళకు when his father was about to die, when death was near at hand.
