(p. 269) kāḍu or గాడు kāḍu. [Tel. for వాడు.] (an affix.) He, that man. సొగసుకాడు a pretty fellow. వేషగాడు a masker. Added to names, it denotes meanness or low station in life, thus: అబ్బిగాడు, సుబ్బిగాడు, as in English, a fellow named so and so. It is also part of the names of some animals as ఇబ్బందికాడు a leopard. బావురుగాడు a he cat. పసులుపోలిగాడు the bird called a drongo or kingcrow.

(p. 873) bavani or బవిని bavani. [Tel.] n. A kind of dance accompanied by story telling. సుద్దులు చెప్పుచు ఆడేనృత్యము. బవనీ. బవనీడు, or బవినీడు bavanī. n. A kind of dancer, వేషగాడు, ౛ాతరలో వేషమువేసే మాలదాసరి. 'వాకట్టునివనీలపాముకూన, యనగవిఖ్యాతిగాంచె నయ్యాడుబూచి.' Suca. iii. 19. 'నెయ్యంబువాటిలనీపాలికి దేవుడింక బవనీడేయంచుతానాడగా.' ib. ii. 451.

(p. 1226) vēṣamu or వేశము vēshamu. [Skt.] n. Dress, garb, habit, a fashion or manner of dress, costume, a disguise or guise. వస్త్రభూషణాదులు అలంకరించుకొనడదము. మారువేషము a false garb, a disguise. 'తక్షకుండునగ్నవేషధరుడై.' M. 1. i. 151. వేషమువేయు to put on a disguise. కృష్ణవేషమువేసినాడు or కట్టినాడు he dressed or disguised himself as Krishna. తలనొప్పిగా నున్నదని వేషమువేసినాడు he feigned a head-ache. వేషగాడు vēsha-gāḍu. n. An actor: an impostor, వేషములువేసేవాడు. వేషధారి vēsha-dhāri. n. A person in disguise, a hypocrite, an impostor, మారువేషమువేసుకొన్నవాడు. వేషాలమారి vēshāla-māri. n. One who feigns, a pretender, a cheat, మాయలమారి. వేషి vēshi. n. One who is disguised. వేషధారి. 'ఇంద్రుడు ప్రియంబుగ గౌతమవేషియైనవాడని.' BRY. v. 37.
