(p. 207) oṭṭu oṭṭu. [Tel.] n. An oath శపథము. A penalty, curse, ban, interdiction నిరోధము. నిద్రపట్టితే ఒట్టు a curse on me if I slept! ఆ దారి చూపు, నేను పోకపోతే ఒట్టు shew me the way and it shall be my fault if I do not go. See ఆన. ఒట్టుపెట్టుకొను oṭṭu-peṭṭu-konu. v. i. To take an oath. ఒట్టుపెట్టు oṭṭu-peṭṭu. v. i. to adjure, to impose a vow or solemn promise. T. ii. 98. To ban or forbid by a curse. ఒట్టువిడుచు to remove an oath or interdiction ఆనవిడుచు.

(p. 208) oḍikamu oḍikamu. [Tel.] n. Propriety, fitness. Prettiness, beauty, elegance మనోజ్ఞము యుక్తము. A vow, or imprecation. శపథము, పంతము. An expedient. ఉపాయము.

(p. 689) pantamu pantamu. [Tel.) n. A bet or wager, పమదెము. Determination, perseverance. A vow. ప్రతిజ్ఞ, శపథము. Rivalry. పోటి. Courage, heroism, పౌరుషము. Way, manner. విధము. నీకు వారితో పంతమేలు why do you wager against them? పంతము మీరగా emulously, eagerly. పంతకాడు panṭa-kāḍu. n. A man who is under a vow, ప్రతిజ్ఞకలవాడు. A rival, పోటీచేయువాడు. A man of determination, పౌరుషముకలవాడు. పంతగించు pantaginṭsu. v. n. To vow, to wager, ప్రతిజ్ఞచేయు. To persevere. To rival, పోటిచేయు. To lay down a rule, to command, విధించు.

(p. 828) pratijña prati-gnya. [Skt.] n. An agreement, engagement, undertaking, asseveration, solemn avowal, determination, resolution, vow. శపథము. Assent, అంగీకారము. ప్రతిజ్ఞాతము prati-gnyātamu. adj. Acknowledged, admitted. అంగీకరింపబడ్డది.

Opportune, seasonable. యుక్తమైన. 'సమయంబగువేళ.' H. ii. 53. సమయపడు samaya-paḍu. v. n. To attempt, యత్నించు. To watch for an opportunity. To become opportune. To resolve on secrecy, సంకేతితమగు. 'సమయపడి వనవాసంబు చేయవచ్చితిమి.' భార. అర. సమయోచితము samay-ōchitamu. adj. Seasonable, suitable to the occasion, appropriate, కాలోచితమైన. సమయోచితమైన మాట a word in season, an appropriate word.
