The stem or stalk of grain; any straight rod whether of wood or not. పొగకర్ర or జాలకర్ర a sunbeam. ఇనపకర్ర a bar of iron. కర్రపచ్చినికోసినకోత reaping while the stalks are green. Blackness నలుపు. A dark stain మరక. See కర. కర్రకుట్లు karrakuṭlu. n. A piece of flesh fried over a fire. ఇనుపశలాకయందు గ్రుచ్చి కాల్చే మాంసఖండము.

(p. 1245) śalāka or సలాక ṣalāka. [Skt.] n. A thin bar or rod, a ramrod, the rib of an umbrella, one of the bars of a cage, a slip of bamboo, a probe. A pin or peg, a small stake, a fibrous stick used as a brush or pencil. లోహదండము. కమ్మి. పుడక, తూలిక. కుందనము చెక్కె ఆయుధము. కనకశలాక a slender rod of gold. పుంటిలో శలాకవేయు to probe a wound. శలాకపరీక్ష probing, a critical examination.
