One of the mythica, elephants that support the corners of the world. దిగంతము dig-antamu. (దిక్+అంతము.) n. An end of the earth. దిగంతఖ్యాతి world wide fame. దిగంబరుడు dig-ambaruḍu. (దిక్+అంబరుడు.) adj. Lit. 'Sky vested,' having the air as a robe. Naked, stark-naked, undraped. దిసమొలవాడు. n. An epithet of Siva. దిగంబరురాలు she who is naked. దిగ్గజము dig-gajamu. n. One of the eight elephants (గజ) the guard the cardinal points (దిక్కులు) of the world. A poetical phrase answering to the poles of heaven. దిగ్గజములుమ్రోయ making the welkin ring. కవిదిగ్గజము a leading or classical author. దిగ్బంధము dig-bandhamu. n. A magic rite, restraining by spells the influence of certain stars. cf. Job. XXXVIII. 31. దిగ్భ్రమము dig-bhramamu. n. Giddiness, stupor, amazement. దిక్కులతబ్బిబ్బు, భ్రమము. దిగ్బ్రమితాత్ముడై bewildered, horrified, amazed. దిగ్గిజయము dig-vijayamu. n. Dominion, empire. Universal conquest. (p. 642) nāḍu nāḍu. [Tel.] n. A day. Time. That day, ఆనాడు. That time, ఆకాలము చిన్ననాడు when he was young, in infancy. ఒకనాటికీ వినడు he will never consent. ఆనాడు at that time. తాతనాడు in my grand-father's time. నాటినుండి since that time. తండ్రినాటనుంచి from the time of his father. సంవత్సరమునాటికి చెల్లించే రూకలు the money payable at the end of the year. నాటివారు the people of that time. నాటిపుస్తకము the book of those times. అది యెన్నాళ్లనాడు how long ago was it? నాలుగేండ్లనాడు four years back. నాటికి on that day, by that time, to that day. నాడే oh I dare say! to be sure! నాటిపని the matter you wot of, you know what I mean. ఇది శానా దినములనాటిది this is very ancient. నానాడు nā-nāḍu. adv. Day by day, now and then. నానాటికి nā-nāṭiki. adv. Day by day, by degrees.

M. పొద్దుతిరుగుడు పువ్వు the sun flower or heliotrope. రెండుగడియల పొద్దుఉండగా while two hours of daylight yet remained. శానాపొద్దుపోయినది it is very late. పొద్దున early in the morning. పొద్దుపొడిచెను the sun arose. పొద్దుగూకె (or క్రుంకెను) the sun has set. పొద్దు గూకులు the livelong day, all day long. పొద్దుపుచ్చు to while away time. పొద్దుపోకుండా ఉన్నది the time passes slowly, or it is very dull. పొద్దు సరసముగా గడిపితిమి we passed the time merrily. పొద్దుతిరుగు బాటున at noon. చాలా పొద్దుగలుగలేచినాడు he rose very early. ఒక్క పొద్దు ఉండు to take only one meal a day, to fast for a period. ఇప్పుడు (lit: ఈ+పొద్దు) now. అప్పుడు (ఆ+పొద్దు.) then. ఆపెకు ఇప్పుడు పొద్దులు She is near her time. దేన్ని పొద్దు పోకచేస్తివి surely you did this out of mere idleness!
