(p. 18) aṃsamu amsamu. [Skt.] n. A shoulder, భుజశిరస్సు. అంసకూటము, a bull's hump. అంసపాదికట్టె a small forked prop which supports the woodwork on which a roof is laid. A small forked stake used at intervals to relieve the shoulders of those who bear a car, &c., in procession. అంసఫలకము, the upper part of the spine.

(p. 92) avataṃsamu avatamsamu. [Skt.] n. A flower put on the ear for ornament; a crest, a ring worn at the tip of the ear. కర్ణభూషణము, సిగబంతి, శిరోభూషణము. స్త్రీ పురుషులు చెవికొననుంచే పుష్పపల్లవాదులు, శేఖరము, శిఖయందు కట్టిన పూల దండ. అవతంసితము adj. (p. 128) āśīrvacanamu , ఆశీర్వాదము āṣīr-vachanamu. [Skt.] n. A blessing or benediction. ఆశిర్వదించు āsīrvadinṭsu. v. a. To bless, give a benediction. ఆశీస్సు āṣīssu. n. A blessing.

(p. 178) ṛtuvu ṛituvu. [Skt.] n. A season. The Hindu year is divided into six seasons, each lasting two months, viz., వసంతము the spring, గ్రీష్మము summer, వర్షము the rainy season, శరత్తు autumn, హేమంతము the dewy season and శిశిరము the cold season. ఋతుకాలము ṛitu-kālamu. n. The menstruous period. A. ii. 22. ఋతుమతి ṛitu-mati. n. A menstruous woman. ముట్టుది. ఋతుస్నాత ṛitu-snāta. n. A woman who has bathed after menstruation. ఋతుస్నానము ṛitu-snānamu. n. (p. 227) kampanamu kampanamu. [Skt.] n. Tremor motion. Nodding కదలుట, వణకుట. కంపము kampamu. n. Trembling, tremor, vibration, agitation,. వణకు, భూకంపము an earthquake. శిరఃకంపము nodding the head (in approbation or admiration.)

(p. 279) kāviñcu kāvinṭsu. [Tel. causal of అగు.] v. a. To make, do, compose, invent, perform. -- తునకలుకావించు to break to bits. శిరఃకంపంబు కావించి shaking the head. తీర్థయాత్రకావించె he went on pilgrimage. ప్రశ్నకావించు to put a question. బాగు కావించు to trim, to set in order.

(p. 531) tirumala tiru-mala. [Tel. తిరు+మల.) n. The sacred hill of Tirupati వెంకటాచలము. Any sacred hill. తిరుమలేశ tirumal-ēṣa. n. The Lord of Tirumala, a name employed in the chorus used by a poet who wrote a set of riddles: like this one; 'మూడుశిరములున్ను ముదమొప్పపదికాళ్లు గల్గు; తోకలురెండు కన్నులారు చెలగి కొమ్ములు నాల్గు చేతులు రెండయా, దీనిభావమేమి తిరుమలేశ.' The meaning of this is:--'a man ploughing with a pair of oxen.' See తిరు.
