(p. 780) pūnu pūnu. [Tel.] v. n. To attempt. యత్నించు, ఉద్యమించు. v. a. To take; to undertake; to wear; to bear; to feel or suffer. పొందు, వహించు, పైనవేసికొను, ధరించు, ఆరంభించు, అంగీకరించు. 'పనినవిస్మయ రసమున, మానినిమృగివైచరించి మదియంగనవై.' Swa. vi. 101. దానికి శివము పూనినది a spirit or goddess has taken possession of her. పూనిక, పూనికి or పూన్కి pūnika n. Assumption, hope, persistence. ఆవహింపజేయడము, వహించడము, కోరక, ఆశ. An attempt, endeavour, ప్రయత్నము, ఉద్యమము. పూనుచు, పూన్చు or పూనించు pūnuṭsu. v. a. To cause to bear or wear. ధరింపజేయు, వహింపజేయు. To cause to undertake, పూనుకొనునట్లుచేయు. To tie, కట్టు. బండికి గుర్రములను పూన్చెను he harnessed the horses to the carriage.

A particular kind of pill made of factitious cinnabar. లింగాకారముగాచేసిన రసవస్తువులగుళిక. లింగకాయ linga-kāya. n. The solitaire or small case usually made of silver to keep the lingam or phallus in and worn on the breast, suspended by a cord round the neck. స౛్జకాయ. లింగడు lingaḍu. n. Heroic, brave, exalted. శురమైన, శౌర్యముగల, ఉత్తమమైన. వీరస్వర్గము the Olympus or Elysium of heroes. వీరగోష్ఠి the company of heroes, 'వీరకేదారంపుపాగ.' (Vasu. pref.) అనగా రణరంగోచితమైన శీరస్త్రము. వీరక్షామము a severe famine. విరసాతివ్రత్యము stern chasity, rigid purity వీరకత్తియ or వీరకత్తె Same as వియ్యంకురాలు (q. v.) వీరకాడు Same as వియ్యంకుడు.
