(p. 390) gōkulamu gō-kulamu. [Skt. గో = cow] n. The caste of herdsmen. A herd of cattle ఆవులమండ. The ox genus or family ఆవుల జాతి. గోకులాష్టమి gō-kul-āshṭami. n. The anniversary of the birth of Krishna which falls on శ్రావణబహుళాష్టమి about September.

(p. 910) bōḍa , బోడి or బోడు bōḍa. [Tel.] adj. Bald, bare, hornless, cropped. n. A monk. సన్యాసి. బోడితల bald-head. బోడితలతో వచ్చినాడు he came with his head bare or uncovered. బోడిఆవు a hornless cow. బోడిఅమ్ము a blunt arrow, an arrow without a point. వారిని బాగా బోడిచేసినాడు he stripped them bare, or plundered them. బోడియేనుగు a tuskless elephant. బోడిచెట్టు a pollard or a tree with the boughs cut off. బోడతీరువ gross tax (as on a crop) without deducting charges. 'ఆసపడిబోడవైన నేనగుదుగాని యింటి సొమ్మెక్కకాసైన నియ్య.' S. ix. 3. బోడడు a bald headed man, బోడివాడు. బోడతరము bōda-taramu. n. A plant, Sphœranthus indicus. శ్రావణీ, ముండినిచెట్టు. Ainslie. 167. బోడలు bōḍalu. n. Hornless cattle. కొమ్ములురాని పశువులు. బోడసరము Same as బొడ్డసరము. (q. v.) బోడికోడి bōḍi-kōḍi. [Tel.] n. A coot, Fulica atra (F.B.I.) బోడించు or బోడిచేయు boḍinṭsu. v. a. To make bald to crop the hair on the head entirely, to shave the hair on the head entirely, to shave the head entirely bare. బోడింపు boḍimpu. n. The act of removing the hair on the head entirely. బోడిచేయుట.

(p. 981) māsamu māsamu. [Skt.] n. A month, either of the lunar, solar, or any other computation of the year. నెల. The Telugu months are చైత్రము, వైశాఖము, జ్యేష్ఠము, ఆషాఢము, శ్రావణము, భాద్రపదము. ఆశ్వయుజము, కార్తీకము, మార్గశిరము, పుష్యము, మాఘము, ఫాల్గునము. అధికమాసము an intercalary month. క్షయమాసము a lost month. నిజమాసము the month proper. నక్షత్రచంద్రమాసము the time wherein the moon moves through a sidereal revolution. Also, same as మాషము a small weight.

(p. 1042) mola mola. [Tel.] n. The waist, the middle, కటిప్రదేశము. A wedge, pin, large nail, or spike. The pin or needle of a balance, త్రాసుముల్లు, చీల. మొలత్రాసు a balance which has a tongue. 'ధమనియుశ్రావణంబు మొలత్రాసునుపట్టెడ నీరుకారు' H. ii. 200. దిసమొల or మొండిమొల starknakedness, utter nudity. మొలకట్టు mola-kaṭṭu. n. A girdle or waist-band. నడుముకు కట్టుకొనేత్రాడు, మొలమాలు. A waist cloth, కట్టుకోక. మొలకత్తి mola-katti. n. A dagger, బాకు. మొలకులికి or మొలకొలికి mola-kuliki. n. A kind of grain, ధాన్యవిశేషము. మొలతాడు mola-tāḍu. n. The small string tied round a Hindu's waist whence is suspended the bit of cloth which serves as a modesty piece. కటిసూత్రము. బంగారుమొలతాడు a woven cord of golden wire. మొలతాటిగోడ mola-tāṭi-gōḍa. n. A parapet, or rail wall. మేలుగోడ. మొలనూలు mola-nūlu. n. A girdle, a zone: a cestus of gold or silver, worn by women. ఆడువారికటిమాత్రము.

(p. 1261) śrāvaṇamu ṣrāvaṇamu. [Tel. for స్రావణము.] n. The pincers or nippers used by goldsmiths. కంసలవాని ఆయుధములలో నొకటి.

(p. 1261) śrāvaṇamu or శ్రావణమాసము ṣrāva-ṇamu. [Skt.] n. The fifth lunar month. అయిదవనెల. శ్రావణాలపౌర్ణిమ ṣrāvaṇāla-paurṇima. n. The full moon in the month of Sravana, (July - August.) This is among Hindus the great day of atonement. Certain ceremonies if duly performed on this day are supposed to procure pardon for all the sins of the past year. ఉపాకర్మము. శ్రావణి ṣrāvani. n.
