The point on which an affair turns. తిరుగుడుబండి a return cart. లెక్కలో తిరుగుడు వచ్చినది or తిరుగుళ్లుపడినవి there is a difficulty, a question, a point to be cleared. తిరుగుడుచీల or తిరుగుడునొక్కు a screw, మర. తిరుగుడు పువ్వు tiruguḍu-puvvu. n. The turning flower, i.e., the sun flower. A sort of gold jewel worn by women. తిరుగుడుత్రాడు a noose, ఉరి, ఉచ్చు. తిరుగుదల tirugudala. n. A turn. మరలుట. వ్యాధి తిరుగుదలగా నున్నది the disease is on the turn. తిరుగుడుపడు to turn, to be giddy పరిభ్రమించు. తిరుగుడుపాటు tiruguḍu-pāṭu. n. Rebellion, resistance. తిరుగబడు or తిరగబడు tiruga-baḍu. v. t. To turn against, to rebel against, to oppose, to attack angrily. తిరగబాటు or తిరుగబాటు tiraga-bāṭu. n. Disobedience, rebellion, turning against. తిరగబోయు or తిరుగబోయు tiraga-bōyu. v. a. To spice, or season (a curry.) తిరగబోత or తిరుగబోత tiraga. n. (p. 729) pasandu pasandu. [H.] n. Comeliness, beauty; an ornament or decoration, సొంపు, సొగసు. adj. Comely. handsome, pleasing, nice. పసందగు to become handsome. పసందుచేయు to make handsome, pretty or nice; to prefer or like. ఆయన దీనిని పసందుచేసినాడు he liked this. పసందుగా pasandu-gā. adv. Nicely, agreeably, fashionably.

(p. 1079) rimma rimma. [Tel.] n. Giddiness, perturbation, ఉన్మాదము, దిమ్మ. 'జ్ఞానమెన్నగురువు జ్ఞానహీనముబుద్ధి రెంటిసందునుండు రిమ్మచూడ, రిమ్మతెలిసెనేని రెచ్చితానుండడా.' Vēma. iii. 39. వాని రిమ్మతిరిగినది his giddiness is gone off.

(p. 1277) sandu or సంది sandu. [from Skt. సంధి.] n. A small opening, a fissure, crack, hole, బొత్త, చిల్లి, బీటిక. Space, an interval. ఎడము, మధ్యప్రదేశము, మధ్యకాలము. A lane, a narrow street, చిన్నవీధి, గల్లీ. A nook, corner, మూల. A backyard, పెరడు. A period of time, an opportunity, సమయము, సందర్బము. A direction or quarter. చంకసందు the armpit. వేళ్లసందు the space between two fingers. ఇక్కడ సందు విడువు leave a space here. సందిచ్చు to give room or opportunity. వాడు ఎవరికిని సందియ్యకుండా మాట్లాడుతాడు he will let nobody else get a word in, he gives no one an opportunity of speaking. వారిద్దరిసందున వీడు నలిగిపోవుచున్నాడు between the two this man is ruined. సందులు గొందులంతా వెతికినాడు he hunted in every hole and corner. సందుచూచి లోగా చొరబడినాడు he took an opportunity and rushed in సందువాకిలి the back-door, పెరటిగుమ్మము. సందుముట్టు menses occurring at intervals, that is, at irregular periods. 'నేటికి నబ్బెసందు.' T. iii. 87. అనగా నేడు సమయము చిక్కెను. సందిక్రంతజగడములు petty disputes, అల్పమైనజగడములు. సందుకట్టు sandukaṭṭu. n. An interval, మధ్యకాలము. గ్రహణపు సందుకట్టు the time that an eclipse lasts. అమావాస్య సందుకట్టు the period of new moon. నేను పోయి వీడు వచ్చే సందుకట్టులో in the interval between my going and his coming. సందుకొను sandu-konu. v. n. To take or seize an opportunity, సమయము చూచుకొను. To extend spread, వ్యాపించు. v. a. To unite with, కూడు. To be joined to, to marry, పరిగ్రహించు. సందుకొట్టు or సందుతగులు sandu-koṭṭu. v. n. To be injured by a ghost. సందుదోషము sandu-dōshamu. n. Demoniac possession. బిడ్డలకు మాససంధియందు కలుగు బాలగ్రహదోషము. ఆ బిడ్డకు సందుదోషము తగిలినది, సందుకొట్టినది or సందుతగిలినది the child is fairy-struck or injured by a ghost that haunts a particular spot. సందుసీసము sandusīsamu. n. A certain feat in wrestling.

A doctrine, సిద్ధాంతము, శివసమయము the Saivite sect. విష్ణుసమయము the Vaishnavite sect. సమయము చూస్తూ ఉన్నాడు he is looking for an opportunity. సమయములో సహాయము చేసినాడు he helped me in time of need. సమయపుసందుకట్టు a time of difficulty. సమయములో చెయ్యివిడుచు to forsake a man in the time of need. సమయమైనప్పుడు when an opportunity arises.నేను లేని సమయమునందు when I was absent. నాలుగు గంటలసమయమందు when it was about four o' clock. సమయముకొద్దీ మనిషి a time server, a fickle man. సమయస్ఫూర్తి a quick memory or understanding. సమయస్ఫూర్తిగలవాడు a quick-witted man. సమయమైన or సమయమగు samayam-aina. adj. Opportune, seasonable. యుక్తమైన. 'సమయంబగువేళ.' H. ii. 53. సమయపడు samaya-paḍu. v. n. To attempt, యత్నించు. To watch for an opportunity. To become opportune. To resolve on secrecy, సంకేతితమగు. 'సమయపడి వనవాసంబు చేయవచ్చితిమి.' భార. అర. సమయోచితము samay-ōchitamu. adj. Seasonable, suitable to the occasion, appropriate, కాలోచితమైన. సమయోచితమైన మాట a word in season, an appropriate word.

(p. 1358) sorugu sorugu. [Tel.] n. The drawer of a table or box. పెట్టెలు మొదలయినవాటిలోని అర. A swoon, మూర్ఛ. v. n. To faint, to swoon. మూర్ఛిల్లు. To fade or languish, to fall down. To run away, వాడు, కూలు, పడు, పారిపోవు. 'విషాణశిఖాహతిచే నెమ్ములు విరిగి సొరిగిజీవనము విడిచెన్.' P. i. 241.
