(p. 502) taṭasthamu taṭa-sthamu. [Skt.] adj. Present, near, at hand, proximate, approaching, next, impending, imminent. సమీపమందున్న, ఒనగూడిన. Temporary, occasional, for the time being. తటస్థమగు or తటస్థించు taṭastha-m-agu. v. n. To approach, draw near, or be at hand. to occur, happen, turn up. ఒనగూడు. చేటు తటస్థించియున్నవాడు one who is on the brink of ruin. తటస్థుడు taṭasthuḍu. n. An onlooker, A bystander, a spectator; one who is indifferent or impartial; a just person న్యాయస్థుడు. వాడు మిక్కిలి తటస్థుడు he is very just.

(p. 578) daggira , దగ్గర or దగ్గర daggira. [Tel.] n. Nearness. సమీపము. adv. and postposition. By, at, near, close by, at hand, towards, to, with, in possession of. వద్ద, సమీపమందు. ఎవ్వరిదగ్గర కొన్నావు from whom did you buy it? నా దగ్గిర ఉన్నది I have it by me. అతని దగ్గిరలేదు he has not got it. ఈ పద్యము దగ్గిరనుండి చదివెను he read on from this verse. నేను దగ్గిర ఉంటిని I was by, I was present. దగ్గిరకుతీయు to take (a child) into one's family, to patronise, protect, take into one's keeping. దగ్గిరి or దగ్గరి daggiri. adj. Near. సమీపమందున్న. దగ్గిరించు, దగ్గరించు or దగ్గరు daggirinṭsu. v. n. To draw near, approach. సమీపించు.

(p. 1045) mōḍi mōḍi. [Tel.] n. The act of picking up a thing (kept at one's feet) by bending back like an acrobat, గణికాదులు మొగ్గవాలి కాలికిసమీపమందుంచిన వస్తువు నెత్తుట. Way, manner, air, style, విధము, రీతి. A whim, pettishness, crossness, ill humour, pique, malice, బింకము. Handwriting, దస్తూరి, వ్రాలు, వ్రాతయొక్క వైఖరి. రాజమోడి royal style, pomp, grandeur. A kind of craft, enchantment, connected with the concealment of a jewel or money, మంత్రగాడు పంతమువేసికొనిపెట్టేటిది. మోడివేయు to draw magic lines. మోడితీయు to break such a spell. మోడిఅక్షరములు or గొలుసుకట్టు a running hand. 'మోడిమానిసిన్ బలెజనితెల్పు మంచనిన.' Radha. i. 70. టీ మోడిమానిసిన్ బలె, ముర్ఖుడైన మనిషివలెనే.

(p. 1272) saṅgaḍamu sangaḍamu. [from Skt. సంగతమ్.] n. Dumb-bells, సాముచేయువారు తిప్పేలోడు. Help, assistance, aid, సహాయము. Friendship, ౛త, స్నేహము. Meeting, చేరిక. Nearness, సమీపము. A retinue, పరిచారము. Service, సేవ. An army, సేన. 'అనవుడు వాడునగుచు నీవిక్రమంబునకు నా వెరపు సంగడంబుగాదె.' M. VII. iv. 59. 'ఉ అంచెలుగట్టి కాలి తొడుసైచనననీవుగదమ్మప్రోదిరా, యంచలివేటి సంగడములయ్యెను.' Swa. v. 72. Trouble, annoyance, ౛ం౛ాటము, సంకటము. సంగడమువాడు sangaḍamu-vāḍu. n. A friend or companion. చెలికాడు, నేస్తకాడు. సంగడి sangaḍi. n. A couple, pair, ౛ంట ౛త, ౛ోడు. Friendship, స్నేహము. A friend, a fellow, a playmate, నేస్తకాడు. A raft or boat made of two canoes fastened side by side. రెండుతాటి. బొండులు జతగాకట్టినతెప్ప. Nearness, సమీపము. A side, ప్రక్క. The back, వెనుక. A crowd, సమూహము. Manner, విధము. 'వ సింగంబులసంగడినొరపగు వీరభటులును.' ఉ. హరి. iv. సంగడి బావులు two wells side by side, జోడుబావులు. సంగడికత్తె sangaḍi-katte. n. A female friend or companion. చెలికత్తె. సంగడికాడు or సంగడీడు sangaḍi-kādu. n. A compeer, fellow, companion, friend, స్నేహితుడు, సంగమడుగు sanga-maḍugu. (సంగడి+మడుగు.) n. A lake or pool near a village, ఊరిసమీపమందు ఎవరు తవ్వరకయే ఎన్నటికిన్ని నీళ్లు ఉండే మడుగు.

(p. 1296) sannihitamu san-ni-hitamu. [Skt.] adj. Near, neighbouring, close at hand, adjacent. సమీపమందున్న, సమీపించిన, వానికి కాలము సన్నిహితమైనది his last moment approaches, his end is drawing near. వారు మాకు సన్నిహితదాయాదులు they are our nearest kinsmen. సన్నిహితుడు ṣan-ni-hituḍu. n. One who is near, one who is closely related, సమీపమందుండువాడు.

(p. 1303) samīpamu samīpamu. [Skt.] n. Nearness, proxiṃity, దగ్గిర, చేరువ. ఆయన సమీపమందు నిలిస్తిని I stood near him. adj. Near. దగ్గిరనున్న, మధ్యాహ్నము సమీపమైనది it is near noon. సమీపస్థుడు samīpa-sthuḍu. n. A bystander. దగ్గిరనున్నవాడు. సమీపించు samī-pinṭsu. v. n. To come near, approach, be imminent. దగ్గిరకువచ్చు. వానితండ్రికి కాలము సమీపించేవేళకు when his father was about to die, when death was near at hand.
