Rate, standard, fixed number. ఆయకట్టు āya-kaṭṭu. ఆయము+కట్టు.] ఆయము, లేక, ఆదాయము యొక్క నిర్ణయము, ప్రమాణము. A yard, an enclosure. Quantity, extent of land, an account specifying the varieties of kinds of soil in a certain field. ఆ యింటి ఆయకట్టుకులోగా within the compound of the house. ఆయమునకు వెచ్చమధికమైన if the expense is greater than the income. ఆయంపాటిగాయం or ఆయంపట్టుగాయం a mortal wound. ఆయముల సోకన్ to the quick.

(p. 1021) meṭṭu meṭṭu. [Tel.] v. a. &n. To step, walk, tread. అడుగుపెట్టు, నడుచు, త్రొక్కు. 'మెల్ల మెల్లన మెట్టుచుదొలగి అల్లనల్లనతలుపులండకు జేరి.' BD iv. 1523. To tread on, to trample on. To kick, to thrust with the foot. To wear, as sandals. తొక్కు, కాలితోతన్ను, పాదుకలు వేసికొను. 'ఏయేతీర్థములందు గ్రుంకిడితి రేయేద్వీపముల్ మెట్టినారు.' Swa. i. 26. 'మింటన్ మ్రోసినమ్రోత తాలిమిని లో మెట్టింపమున్నీపునా యింటన్ బుట్టెదవంచుకంసుడుతొడిన్ హింసించె నీయన్నలన్.' B. X. 102. మెట్టిక meṭṭika. n. A step , మెట్టు, సోపానము. See also మెటిక. మెట్టిమల్లాడు meṭṭi-mall-āḍu. v. a. To trample down or all over, to ruin, హతముచేయు, ధ్వంసముచేయు. 'కర్మంబుల కట్టడలకులోనుగాక మాయలనుమెట్టి మల్లాడి నిర్మలలింగసేవ నెట్టిభక్తిఘటించు.' L. xvi. 229. మెట్టుకు meṭṭu-ku. adv. On the whole, altogether. In fact, in all, at the most, at least, at any rate. (p. 1248) śāyi ṣāyi. [H.] n. Ink. సిరా, ఇంకి. Duties, tolls, సుంకము. [Skt.] n. One who reclines, పండుకొనియుండువాడు రంగశాయి he who dwells at Rangam; this is a name of the god at Ṣrirangam close to Trichinopoly.

(p. 1255) śulkamu ṣulkamu. [Skt.] n. A toll, duty, impost, సుంకము. The present bestowed on a bride by her husband. Purchase money given to a bride's parents. Earnest money. ఓలి, ఉంకువ. విద్యాశుల్కము a wager or stake for the victor in an argument.

(p. 1325) sāyamu sāyamu. [from Skt. సహాయము.] n. Aid, assistance, help. సహాయము. [Tel. anuk.] as ఆయసాయమ్ములు custom house duties and the like. సుంకములు గింకములు. 'ఆయసాయమ్ములు, అవిగొని.' Pal. 313.

A custom house officer; an exciseman. సుల్కహారి, సాయీరుదారుడు, సుంకము వసూలు చేయువాడు. సుంకరిమెట్టు sunk-ari-meṭṭu. n. A toll or custom-house. సుంకము పుచ్చుకొనే స్థలము.
