(p. 815) posagu posagu. [Tel.] v. n. To agree, fit, suit, be consistent with. To happen, take place, occur, befal. ఒనగూడు, ఒప్పు, పొందుపడు, చక్కబడు, ఇముడు, సరిపడు, అనుకూలించు. To be got, obtained. సంభవించు, దొరకు, లభించు. వీరికి వారికి పొసగదు they do not agree, they are on bad terms. వానికేమి పొసగినది what happened to him? ఈ కర్మము నీకెట్లు పొసగినది how did you get into this trouble? 'భోజనవేళల పొసగునే మాట,' Pal. 44. 'పరసమినుము సోకిబంగారమైనట్లు, కప్పురంబుజ్యోతిగలసినట్లు, పుష్పమందుతావి పొస గినట్లగుముక్తి.' Vēma. i. 81. పొసగ posaga. adv. Duty, fitly. 'చంపదగిన యట్టి శత్రుడుతనచేత, జిక్కెనేనికీడుసేయ రాదు, పొసగమేలుచేసి పొమ్మనుటేచావు.' Vēma. i. 23. పొసగించు posaginṭsu. v. a. To cause to agree or fit. A squabble, wrangle, plague, scrape. పీకులాట, రచ్చ, కలకలము, పోరు ఏవేళ యిదేవానిరంపు this is his constant theme. ఏవేళను దీనిరంపేరంపు she has an endless tongue, she is a constant plague. రంపిల్లు or రంపిలు rampillu. v. n. To contend. వాపోవు, పోరాడు. 'సీ తెగిన సోకుడుమూక మగిడి నాబలువిద్దె పెంపున బ్రదికిరంపిల్లుచుండ.' Yayati. iii. 107. To spread, extend, వ్యాపించు. To increase. వర్ధిల్లు, అతిశయించు, విజృంభించు. To chatter, prattle, make an uproar.

(p. 1107) lē lē. [Tel.] The base of the negative forms లేక, లేని, లేదు, &c. లేక lēka. past participle of లేదు. Not being, not being present, without, wanting. అతడు అక్కడ లేకపోవుటవల్ల by his not being there. వానికి రూకలు లేకపోవుటవల్ల by being in want of money. దాన్ని అణిచేవారులేక యిట్లు విడబడి తిరిగినది she played these pranks as there was no one to check her. కూటికిలేక being in want of food. When added to the infinitive, it means Unable. రాలేక unable to come. దానిని చూడలేక unable to look at it, unable to bear the sight of it. లేకుండ or లేకుండా lēk-unḍā. is used in much the same way as లేక; e.g. అతడు లేకుండ నావల్లకాదు I cannot do it without him లేకుండాచేయు lēk-unḍā-chēyu. v. a. To do away, to get rid of, to turn out. నివృత్తిచేయు. వారిని ఆ యింటిలోలేకుండా చేయుము turn them out of the house. అది వాడు ఇవ్వనక్కరలేకుండా చేస్తిని I relieved him from the necessity of giving it. లేకుండు lēk-unḍu. v. n. To be absent, to be wanting. లేడు lēḍu. He is not; he is not present. ఇంటిలోలేడు he is not in the house. చేయలేడు he cannot do it. వీక్షంపగలేడయ్యె. he could not behold it. లేదా lēdā. It it not? or, or else. అది అక్కడ లేదా is it not there? లేదు lēdu. It is not. అది అక్కడ లేదు. it is not there. లేనట్టు lēn-aṭṭu. As if it is not అతడు లేనట్టున్నది it appears he is not there. అతడు లేనట్టు తెలిసి knowing that he was not there. లేని lēni. adj. Devoid of. తెలివిలేనివాడు he who is devoid of sense. వాడు నోరులేనివాడు he is a dumb creature, a mere fool. తప్పులేని faultless. దోవలేని అడవి a pathless forest. వెలలేనిమాణిక్యము a priceless gem. లేనిపోనిపని nonsense, a fool's errand. లేనిపోనిసౌఖ్యములు vain deluding joys. లేనిమాటలు slanders, falsehoods. లేనిపోనిసాకు a false pretence. పోరులేని పోరుపుట్టె నీప్రొద్దు a dispute arose without cause. 'అదియుగాక రాజ్యమును మహాభూతంబు సోకినప్పు డెట్టిసుజనులకును లేనిచీకుదనములేనిమూగతనము, లేని చెవుడు గొంతయైనకలదు.' K. P. v. 248. లేనివారు the absent; the poor. లేమి lēmi. n. A combination of several words into one, all but the final being devoid of the signs of case, a compound word, రెండుమూడు శబ్దముల నేకపదముగా చేర్చడము. విభక్తి లోపము చేసిన పదము, సమర్థములగు పదముల యేకీభావము. సమాసకము samāsakamu. n. A compound word formed out of pure Telugu words, శుద్ధాంధ్రపదములసమాసము. సమాసోక్తి a compound word.

(p. 1307) sarasamu sa-rasamu. [Skt.] adj. Juicy, tasty. Sapid, soft. Good, virtuous. Charming, agreeable, pleasant, elegant, sweet. Jocose, funny, merry. Easy, cheap. రసయుక్తమైన, సుస్వాదువైన, అందమైన, మనోహరమైన, పరిహాసమైన, లలితమైన; చవుకైన. సరసోక్తి a jocose; amusing or agreeable expression. n. A joke, jest, fun, merriment, amusement, sweetness, pleasantry. Cheapness. పరిహాసము, ఉల్లాసము, వినోదము, సారస్యము; చవుక. సరసమాడు to make jokes, to jest. సరిసమాడవద్దు do not jest. సరసము విరసమవును a jest may turn to a strife. సరససల్లాపము jocose talk. ఇప్పుడు బంగారు సరసముగానున్నది now gold is cheap. చెయ్యి సరసము bear's play, a scuffle. 'సరసోరుకాండముల్ సౌకర్యమేపార.' Ila. i. 2. సరసత sa-rasasa. n. Delicacy, taste, sweetness, elegance, brilliancy of thought, beauty of composition. మాధుర్యము, సారస్యము, లాలిత్యము. ఆ సద్యముయొక్క సరసత the sweetness of the verse. To be possessed by a demon, to be affected by the evil influence of stars or demons, గ్రహమావేశించు. n. Touching. A touch, contact; a sensation, తాకుట, స్పర్శము. A blow, దెబ్బ, పోటు.
