(p. 394) gōru gōru. [Tel.] n. A nail, a claw. In A. v. 30. గోళ్లు is rendered అరిటిపువ్వులో నుండే గద్దగోళ్లు అని వాడుకోబడే కుచ్చులవంటివి 'Hawk's claws,' i.e., the inside of a plantain blossom. adj. Slight, little. అల్పము. గోటికన్ను the quick of the nail. గోరుగల్లు or గోరుగొండి or గోర్లొండి gōru-gallu. n. An instrument for cutting the nails. గోరుగాలము gōru-gālamu. n. A kind of fishhook made of iron wire. గోరుచిక్కుడుకాయ gōru-chikkuḍu-kāya. n. The bean called Dolichos fabæformis. Rox. iii. 316. గోరుచిరణము gōru-chīra-ṇamu. n. A chisel with a bent edge. కొనయుండు వంపుగల ఉలి. గోరుచుట్టు gōru-ṭsuṭṭu. n. A whitlow. గోరుచుట్టుపై రోకటిపోటు a blow from a rice pounder on a whitlow, i.e., trouble upon trouble. గోరులి or గోరు ఉలి gōruli. n. A gouge, or round-bladed chisel. గోరువెచ్చ gōru-veṭsṭsa. n. and adj. Lukewarm, tepid, partly warm. గోరొత్తు gōr-ottu. v. a. To pinch. n. Pinching.

(p. 449) cuṭṭa ṭsuṭṭa. [Tel.] n. A ring. A roll of anything, anything rolled up as a leaf, a cheroot or cigar. A ring, a pillar. A relation. చుట్టలు relations, చుట్టములు. అలుకుచుట్ట a roll of cloth dipped in cowdung and water to smear floors with. చుట్టకుదురు a pad placed on the head to support a pail, &c. చుట్టవేసికొను to hem in or surround, to roll oneself into a mass.

(p. 449) cuṭṭamu ṭsuṭṭamu. [Tel. from చుట్టు.] n. Kin, kindred. బంధుత్వము a relation, a kinsman or kinswoman బంధువు. చుట్టపక్కములు kindred, kith and kin--here పక్కము has no meaning. A proverb says. తలచుట్టము తోకపగ I like the head but hate the tail, i.e., I avow one kinsman and disavow another. చుట్టరికము ṭsuṭṭa-rikamu. n. Kinship, relationship.

(p. 449) cuṭṭu ṭsuṭṭu. [Tel.] v. a. To go about, to go round. To roll, wrap up, to wind up, to encircle or clasp in an embrace. To hem in, surround, to overtake (as sin does). To draw a circle. To make small ciphers, thus: సున్నచుట్టు, క్రారావడిచుట్టు to write o or ; పాగాచుట్టు to tie a turban. చుట్టుకొను or చుట్టుపారు to surround, hem in, roll up. To turn, to go round. దోవచుట్టుకొని వేళ్లుచున్నది here the road makes a sweep. చుట్టు n. A turn, a round, a circuit, a circumference. A turn or bout: a time. A toe ring, worn by women కాలియుంగరము, తలచుట్టు a turban. గోరుచుట్టు a whitlow. ఎన్నిచుట్లు చెప్పేది how often am I to tell you? చుట్టు adj. & adv. Around, round about, out of the direct way. చుట్టలుగు, చుట్టువాలు or చుట్టుకైదువు ṭsuṭṭ-alugu. (చుట్టు+అలుగు.) n. The Discus of Vishnu చక్రమనే ఆయుధము. R. iii. 42. చుట్టిల్లు a round hut without posts or pillars: చుట్టివచ్చు to go round anything; ప్రదక్షిణముచేయు. To surround పరివేష్టించు. చుట్టుకొల్లారము, చుట్టుకొల్లారు or చుట్టుమాలె ṭsuṭṭu-kollāramu. n. A house built round an open area, with a chamber at each corner and a gallery between. చుట్టుగుల్ల ṭsuṭṭu-gulla. n. A volute shell. గుండ్రని శంఖము. చుట్టుదల ṭsuṭṭu-dala. n. The act of surrounding చుట్టుట. చుట్టుతిరుగు ṭsuṭṭu-tirugu. v. n. To go the rounds, as a patrol. చుట్టుపట్టు ṭsuṭṭu-paṭṭu. n. All sides. Roundabout. చుట్టుపడు ṭsuṭṭu-paḍu. v. n. To fall out of the direct route: to go round. చుట్టుముట్టు ṭsuṭṭu-muṭṭu. v. n. To encamp around, besiege, hem in, surround. Vish P. viii. 64. చుట్టువేదెము ṭsuṭṭu-vēḍemu. n. Telugu books were usually written on palm-leaves connected by a cord running through: and to tear out a leaf or rescind a bond, the top is torn. Fat-headed, proud, silly. ఇంతపనిచేస్తే వారిలో ఎట్లు తలయెత్తవచ్చును if he did this how could he shew his face among them? తలతో చెల్లించెను he paid for it with his head, it cost him his life. తలకుఎక్కేపని a perilous undertaking. తలకు ఎక్కినది it got into his head, he is intoxicated. తలకొట్టివేయు to decapitate or behead. తల (for తలను) మోయు to carry on the head. శిరసావహించు. (p. 1136) vala vala. [Tel. for వలను.] adj. Right, కుడి. వలచేయి or వలకేలు the right hand. 'అరుదుగావలచేతనక్షమాలికయు.' DR. Aran. 268. 'వలకేల్దలక్రింద జేర్చుకొని.' P. i. 256. వలకట్టు vala-kaṭṭu.
