Study, reading, especially of the sacred books. గురుముఖాను పూర్వశ్రవణము, పఠనము, The word అధ్యయనము is commonly used for the study of the Vedas or for the Veda itself thus: ఆ చిన్నవాడు నాలుగేండ్ల నుంచి అధ్యయనము చేయుచున్నాడు the boy has been studying the Vedas for four years. నాకు అధ్యయనము రాదు I have not studied the Vedas.

(p. 68) abamuśubhamu abhamu-ṣubhamu. [Skt. శుభము] n. (Conversational) Evil and good, right and wrong. ఆ పిల్లకాయ అభముశుబము ఎరగకముందు before that boy was old enough to know good from evil.

(p. 327) kōmaṭi kōmaṭi. [Tel.] n. A man of the merchant caste. A shopkeeper. adj. Belonging to the shopkeeper-caste. కోమటి మనిషి a man or woman of this caste. కోమటి చిన్నవాడు a shop boy. కోమటిసరుకులు wares. కోమటి సాక్ష్యము doubtful evidence, saying neither one thing nor another. See కన్యకాపురాణము.
