(p. 527) tiṭṭu tiṭṭu. [Tel.] v. a. To abuse, rate, scold, rail at, curse. To use obscene language. To express anger: to blame, to condemn. శపించు, నిందించు. n. Abuse, scolding, violent language, a violent rebuke, an abusive or obscene expression. నెయ్యంపుతిట్టు a friendly scolding. Blame, censure నింద. తిట్టుపడు to incur blame or censure నిందింపబడు. తిట్టుపాటు tiṭṭu-pāṭu. n. Blame or censure. నింద. తిట్టుపోతు tiṭṭu-pōtu. n. A scold, a woman who uses obscene language.

The external appearance, the look of the face, ముఖవిలాసము. నిశాముఖము nightfall, evening. సేనాముఖము the front of the army. నఖముఖములు the points of the nails. ముఖమిచ్చు to indulge. అతడు వారితో ముఖమిచ్చి మాట్లాడలేదు he did not speak with them as a friend. 'బల్దూరంబైన శ్మశానవాటి ముఖమాలోకింపగన్.' Bilh. iii. 25. అధోముఖుడుగానుండినాడు he was hanging with his head down. ఆ దివిటీని అధోముఖముగాపట్టినాడు he held the torch with the flaming end downwards. 'అనుఘకథాముఖంబున హితాహిత బోధమొనర్తురింపుగా.' Mand. i. 8. టీ కాథా ముఖంబున by means of a story, కథచేతను అర్ధముఖము the profile or half face. తమరు రామునిముఖముచూచి నన్ను రక్షింపవలసినది I pray that for the sake of Rama you will relieve me. పడమటిముఖముగా towards the west. పడమటిముఖముగా నుండే యిల్లు a house facing the west. ఆడదానిముఖమెరుగనివాడు a youth that as yet knows not the face of a woman, i.e., entirely chaste. అందరును ఏకముఖముగా నుండలేదుగనుక as they were not unanimous or were not all of one mind. By means of, through, ద్వారా. నా తమ్ముని ముఖాంతరముగా పంపించినాను I sent it by my brother. ముఖాముఖి mukhā-mukhi. adv. Face to face. ఎదురెదురుగా. 'వినుముఖాముఖిబల్కెద.' T. iii. 84. ముఖుడు mukhudu. n. A word used in compounds, thus అధోముఖుడై hanging with his face down. సుముఖుడుగా మాట్లాడినాడు he spoke graciously. దుర్ముఖుడైయుండినాడు he was cross. పరాఙ్ముఖుడైయుండెను he turned his face away.

(p. 1128) vathyamu vadhyamu. [Skt. from వధ] adj. Deserving death, condemned to die. చంపదగిన. 'కనుగొనివధ్యశృంగారంబుచేసి.' (BD. iv. 782.) decking out a victim for sacrifice, or adorning a culprit for the halter. వధ్యుడు vadhyuḍu. n. A culprit: one who is condemned to death, చంపదగినవాడు.

(p. 1168) vijayamu vi-jayamu. [Skt.] n. A great conquest, a complete triumph, a great victory. మిక్కిలి గెలుపు. This word is used in the titles of several poems, and can be translated 'Adventures' or 'Tale,' as తారాశశాంకవిజయము the adventures of Tāra and Sasanka, similar to those of Stella and the Genius. విజయ vi-jaya. n. The name of a Telugu year. విజయదశమి vijaya-daṣami. n. The tenth day of the month Asvayuja, being the day after the festival to Sarasvati, when all books, arms and instruments of trade are worshipped. విజయముచేయు or విజయంజేయు vi-jayamu-chēyu. v. n. To come, వచ్చు. To proceed; deign or condescend to come or go. వేంచేయు, విచ్చేయు, వచ్చు, పోవు. ఈవేళ మాయింటికి విజయము చేస్తారా will you do me the honor to come to my house? will you favour me with your company. 'దేవదేవుండువిజయంబు చేసిన యీస్వప్నంబు.' A. pref. 21. 'విద్విషత్సంహారంబునకు విజయంబు చేయుమనుటయు.' lb. iv. 111. విజయస్తంభము vijaya-stambhimu. n. A pillar of victory. జయించి నాటినస్తంభము. 'పొట్టునురివిజయస్తంభోపలోట్టంకిత.' A. iv. 345. విజయి vi-jayi. adj. Victorious, triumphant. జయమును పొందిన, జయముగల. n. A conqueror. జయించినవాడు. విజయాభవ vijayī-bhava. interj. Hail to so and so, here's to the health of so and so. Hallelujah. సర్వోత్కృష్టుడవుగా నుండును. విజయుడు vi-jayudu. n. A name of Arjuna. అర్జునుడు. విజయవిలాసము a poem in his honour. Jaya and Vijaya are the names of the two porters at the gate of the palace of Vishnu, విష్నువుయొక్క ద్వారపాలకులు.
