(p. 47) adhōmukhamu adhō-mukhamu. [Skt.] n. The face turned downwards: a downcast countenance. కిందికి వంచుకొని యుండే మొగము. అధోముఖముగా adv. With the face turned downwards, with a downcast countenance; headlong. తలవంచుకొని, తలక్రిందుగా. దివిటీని అధో ముఖముగా పట్టినాడు he held the torch with the flame downwards. అధోముఖుడు [Skt.] n. He who is downcast. ashamed or crest fallen. అతడు అధోముఖుడై ఉండెను he hung his head.

(p. 92) avataṃsamu avatamsamu. [Skt.] n. A flower put on the ear for ornament; a crest, a ring worn at the tip of the ear. కర్ణభూషణము, సిగబంతి, శిరోభూషణము. స్త్రీ పురుషులు చెవికొననుంచే పుష్పపల్లవాదులు, శేఖరము, శిఖయందు కట్టిన పూల దండ. అవతంసితము adj. (p. 149) ukku ukku. [Tel.] n. Steel. Strength, courage, pride, vigour, potency. అయస్సారము, బలము, శౌర్యము. Steadiness. స్థైర్యము. తెలగ ఉక్కు. A very tough sort of steel. R. v. 197. ఉక్కు తీగె ukku-tīge. n. Steel wire. ఉక్కుతునక or ఉక్కుముక్క ukku-tunaka. n. A bit of steel, a brave, sharp or active man. ఉక్కు ముఖి ukku-mukhi. n. A bush in a carriage wheel ఇరుసుతగిలించే బండికంటి నడిమిగుబ్బ. కుండగోకరి kunḍa-gōkari. [కుండగోకు+అరి.] n. The tip or end of a bow వింటికొన. తిరుపతి కొప్పులు bald heads so used because people have their heads shaved when they visit Tirupati. కొప్పుగువ్వ koppu-guvva. n. The Indian hoopoe.
