The god Brahma, the operative creator of the world. ఇది బ్రహ్మభేద్యముగానున్నది this is invincible even to Brahma. వాడు వట్టి యంబ్రహ్మ he is a mere simpleton. There are said to be nine Brahmas, viz., భృగువు, పులస్త్యుడు, పులహుడు. అంగిరసుడు, అత్రి, క్రతువు, దక్షుడు, వసిష్ఠుడు, మరీచి. బ్రహ్మము brahmamu. n. The deity, పరమాత్మ. The Veda, వేదము. Meditation, తపము. బ్రహ్మకమ్మి brahma-kammi. n. The seam that goes down the middle of a sheet. బ్రహ్మచర్యము brahma-charyamu. n. The bachelor state. A set of musical instruments, వాద్యముల౛త. A band of musicians, a set of dancers or singers. The music used by them. వేషగాండ్రయొక్కయు నటుల యొక్క యుగుంపు, పాటగాండ్రగుంపు. ఆ పెండ్లికి నాలుగుమేళములను పిలిపించినారు they sent for four bands to come to the wedding. అది యిప్పుడు మేళానికి పోవడములేదు she does not now dance. పోకిరిమేళము a pack of rascals. మేళతాళములు instrumental music. మేళవించు or మేళగించు mēḷa-vinṭsu. v. n. To unite, be joined, ౛తగూడు, కలియు. v. a. To mix, unite in harmony, as the sound of various instruments. కలుపు, ౛తకుర్చు, శ్రుతికూర్చు. 'అతడు నపుడు పాటకాయి తముగ, వీణెమేళవించి వెలుపలి మొసలనునిచిలోనికరగి.' KP. ii. 98. 'వీరశృంగారములు మేళవించునట్టి, చెలువమునవిందు ముఖులు.' Jaimini. v. 125.

(p. 1069) rahi rahi. [Tel.] n. Joy, ఆనందము. Beauty, elegance, harmony. సొంపు. సొగసు. Lustre, కాంతి. Affection, love, ఆశ, రక్తి, ప్రియము. Eagerness, ఆసక్తి. Understanding, తెలివి. Welfare, బాగు. Manner, విధము. 'గుజరాతి జగిసిస్తు గోట్లుదాపినడాలు రహిమించుపైఠిణీ రవికదొడిగి.' H. 133. 'సీ రహిపుట్టజంత్ర గాత్రములరాల్గరగించు విమలగాంధర్వంబువిద్య మాకు.' Swa. ii. 46. రహి or రహిన్ adv. Eagerly, affectionately. అశతో, ప్రియముగా. This word is often used as a mere peg to fill the metre. రహించు or రహియించు rahinṭsu. v. n. To bloom, flourish, to be pleasant, to be agreeable, to shine. వెలయు, చెలగు, ఒప్పు, వర్ధిల్లు. 'మెరపుతులకించ జడివాన మెలుపుగాంచ కరకలురహించ నిరులునల్గడలమించ.' Paidimarri vi. 29.

(p. 1328) sāḷagamu sāḷagamu. [Skt.] n. Harmony in music. తిలతండులన్యాయముననైన రాగమేళనము. A certain tune, రాగవిశేషము. 'లాలితశుద్ధసాళగములు మెరయ.' BD. iii. 1364. సాళగించు sāḷag-inṭsu. v. n. To be mixed. or mingled, మిళితమగు. సాళగింపు sāḷa-gimpu. n. Mixing, harmony, మేళనము.

(p. 1340) suti suti. [from Skt. శ్రుతి.] n. An accompaniment to an air, the drone accompaniment in music, the running bass, the diapason, the tone of a chord. సంగీతశ్రుతి, శ్రుతి, సుతికూర్చు to put an instrument in tune, to harmonise chords. హెచ్చుసుతి a note set too high. తగ్గుసుతి a note that is too low. సుతిగాడు or సుతికాడు a drone-player, one who plays the bag-pipe. సుతిపోయువాడు. 'నారద సుతిగూర్పనేరవునీవులెమ్మని వీణెటింగుటింగునను మీటు.' N. iv. 139. సుతిమెత్తనివాడు suti-mettani-vāḍu. n. A meek, soft, patient man. సాత్వికుడు, తిన్ననివాడు.
