(p. 165) uppu uppu. [Tel.] n. Salt. పెట్లుప్పు saltpetre. రాతి ఉప్పు rook salt. వెదురు ఉప్పు a sort of gum (tabasheer. Ainslie 1. 420.) found in the hollows of the bamboo. కప్పురంబు పెట్టి ఉప్పు కొనుట. (A. vi. 75.) To give camphor for salt, that is, what is valuable for what is worthless. ఉప్పుకండ uppu-kaṇḍa. n. Dried flesh, salt meat. ఉప్పుకాయ uppu-kāya. n. Salted fruit, pickle. ఉప్పు కాపడమిచ్చు to foment with heated salt. ఉప్పుకల్లు or ఉప్పురాయి a grain of salt. ఉప్పుచేప uppu-chēpa. n. A salted fish. ఉప్పుటేరు uppu-t-ēru. n. A salt stream. ఉప్పుపర్ర uppu-parra. n. Salt marsh. పర్ర ఊప్వ salt which effloresces on marshy places. బూడిదె ఉప్పు. ఉప్పుమడి uppu-maḍi. n. A salt pen, salt-bed. ఉప్పు మిడత uppu-miḍata. n. A kind of large black cricket. ఉప్పు రేవు uppu-rēvu. n. A place where salt is manufactured: ఉప్పురియు upp-uriyu. v. i. To moulder. ఉప్పురిసిపోయిన mouldering, dilapidated. కప్పురిసిన యిల్లు a house that sweats salt or that is going to decay. ఉప్పు సముద్రము uppu-samudramu. n. The ocean or salt sea.

(p. 218) ōmanakāyalu ōmana-kāyalu. [Tel.] n. Pieces such as tamarind seeds, &c., used in a game called ఓమనగుంటలాట. ఓమనగుంటలు ōmana-guṇṭalu. n. A kind of game అచ్చనగండ్లు ఓమనపీట a small table which is hollowed out in a number of places, to be used in this game.

(p. 243) kannu or కను kannu. [Tel.] n. The eye. నేత్రము. Sight చూపు. An orifice, small hole or hollow రంధ్రము. The abl. is కంట thus కంటబడు to fall into the eye, to be in view. వానికి కండ్లు అగుపడవు he cannot see కన్నుకనబడనివాడు a blind man. కండ్లు తిరిగినవి I turned giddy. పెద్దకండ్లుచేయు to look angry. కన్నులెర్ర చేసికొను to make one's eyes inflamed with wrath. కన్నుగట్టు kannu-gaṭṭu. n. Fascination, deluding. కన్నుకట్టుట to delude, or blind the eyes. కన్నుకట్టువిద్య magic,legerdemain. The art of being invisible. కన్నుగవ or కన్నుదోయి A pair of eyes. కన్నునీరు or కన్నీరు tears. కన్నుబ్రాము (R. 1. 107.) To evade, delude. కన్నుమూసినగంత a blindman's buff. కన్నుమొరగు as though blind. కన్నుమెరగు or కనుమొరగు to delude వంచించు. కన్నులారచూచు to see with one's own eyes, view distinctly. కన్నువేయు to cast an eye on, to long for ఆశించు, కన్నులమ్రాను the sugar cane చెరకు. కన్నులవిలుకాడు Cupid మన్మథుడు .

(p. 275) kāremu kāremu. [Tel.] n. The hollowed trunk of a palm tree shaped like a canoe and balanced like a see-saw to draw up water. మళ్లకు నీళ్లెత్తెడు తాటిదోనె.

(p. 279) kāvu kāvu. [Tel.] n. Cawing, the sound of crows: a hollow booming sound. A well or pit. పాతర. A black mark on the forehead worn for good luck కావలిబొట్టు.

(p. 285) kīcakamu kīchakamu. [Skt.] n. A hollow bamboo. కీచకతండులము (Kalahas. Mah. iii. 48.) the pearls of gum (tabasheer) found inside bamboos. కీచకస్వనము a hollow groaning sound, as that of the wind passing the mouth of a tube.

(p. 291) kuccetīyu kuchche-tīyu. [Tel.] v. t. To hollow the back of a jewel so as to increase its lustre when set రత్నములకు సానపట్టు. కుచ్చెతీసినకెంపు a ruby hollowed behind.

A hollow cylinder used in making vermicelli. జంతికలుచేసే సాధనము. అప్పడాల కొడువు a cylindrical stick used in flattening cakes. బలపపుకొడుప a slate pencil. జమ్ముకొడుపు the pod or cylindrical head of a bulrush. బొడుకొడువు or బల్లలకొడుపు (BD. iii. 2240.) a clog fastened to the neck of a bad tempered cow గదికొయ్య.

(p. 325) kōṭaramu kōṭaramu. [Skt.] n. The hollow of a tree. చెట్టుతొర్ర.
