Junior, Younger, smaller. చిన్నచూపు humiliation, scorn. దేవుడు చిన్నచూపుచూస్తే యెవరేమి చేయవచ్చును when God withdraws his favour what can man do? చిన్న ఆకురాయి chinna-ākurāyi. n. The Blackheaded Cuckoo-Shrike, Campophaga sykesi. (F.B.I.) చిన్నకారు chinna-kāru. n. Childhood, youth. చిన్నకారుపిల్లలు young children. చిన్నతనము chinna-tanamu. n. Infancy: littleness, smallness. Disgrace, dishonor. ఇందువల్ల కులమునకంతా చిన్నతనము వచ్చినది this is a disgrace to the whole caste. చిన్నది chinnadi. n. A little one. A girl, a lass. ఈ చిన్నది అతనిభార్య this girl is his wife. పెద్ద చిన్నది the eldest daughter; or, a grown girl.

(p. 451) cūpu ṭsūpu. [Tel. from చూచు.] n. Slight, a look, vision, glance. లక్ష్మి అతణ్ని చిన్న చూపుచూచినది fortune frowned on him. చిన్నచూపు humiliation, contempt. బ్రతికే చూపు కనిపించలేదు there was no prospect of his living longer. చూపోపు (చూపు+ఓపు) to endure the sight of. చూడ సహించు. చూపోపక unable to stand before his face. A. v. 78. చూపు or చూపించు v. a. To shew, point out. భయముచూపించు to frighten. అన్నము చూపించు to provide for, give bread to. ఆశ చూపించు to hold out hopes or prospects. చూపుడుకోక a transparent petticoat. చూపుగుర్రము or చూపుడుగుర్రము tsūpu-gurramu. n. Poverty, humility, wretchedness. దీనదశ poverty, humiliation. దీనవదనుడు humble in looks. దీనాలాపము a humble tone, a low voice, pitiful cry. దీనుడు dinuḍu. n. A poor or helpless man. దరిద్రుడు. (p. 795) pēda pēda. [Tel.] adj. Poor, indigent, బీద. Timid, పిరికి. Slender, lean, thin, as the waist. కూటికి పేదయైతే కులానికి పేదా if a man happens to be poor, is he to be regarded as contemptible by his felow castemen? పేదసాదలు the poor and wretched. నిరుపేదనడుము a slender waist. చెవిపేదలు those that turn a deaf ear to complaints, మొరలాలకించనివారు. 'ఆవశ్యంబు రాజులు చెవిపేదలని పలికి.' P. i. 534. పేద or పేదవాడు Pēda. n. A poor person. A powerless or weak man, ఆశక్తుడు. A man of low station in life, అనుద్ధతుడు. పేదలు the poor. పేదరాలు pēda-r-ālu. n. An indigent woman. పేదరికము pēdarikamu. n. Pauperism, poverty. దారిద్య్రము. పేదరిమి or పేదర్మి pēdarimi n. Poverty, Timidity,పిరికితనము. నడుముపేదరిమి slenderness of the waist. 'తే అర్జున యీ పెద్ద తనముమాని, దండివైలెమ్ము మనసు పేదరిమివిడిచి.' M. VI. i. 240. పేదవడు pēda-vaḍu. v. n. To be reduced to poverty, to become poor, దారిద్య్రమును పొందు. To be humbled or humiliated, దైన్యమునుపొందు.

(p. 1291) sat sat. [Skt.] adj. True, good, virtuous. Excellent, venerable, respectable, pure, holy. యథార్థమైన, ఘనమైన, మంచి, పావనమైన. One verse says 'చదువనివాడజ్ఞుండగు చదివినసదసద్వివేక చతురతగలుగున్.' సత్కర్మము or సత్కార్యము a good deed. అపత్ not good, evil. సత్కవి a good poet, మంచి కావ్యకర్త. సత్పాత్రము worthy, deserving, fit. యోగ్యమైన, అర్హమైన. సత్పాత్రుడు one who is worthy, deserving or fit, అర్హుడు, తగినవాడు. సత్పురుషుడు a good man, మంచివాడు, సత్పథము a good way, మంచిదోవ. The final letter undergoes the usual phonetic changes when the word is used in composition: e.g. సన్మార్గము a good way, సమ్మనీంద్రుడు a holy sage; &c. సచ్చరితుడు a virtuous, honest or upright man, మంచి నడతగలవాడు. సచ్చిదానందము God, as the fountain of being, intelligence, and happiness: lit. 'it that is good, wise, and happy.' నిత్య జ్ఞానానంద స్వరూపపరబ్రహ్మము. సచ్ఛుద్రుడు a pious Sudra, సదాచారముగల శూద్రుడు. సజ్జనత్వము magnanimity, goodness, సభ్యత్వము. సజ్ఞనుడు a respectable man, a good man, సభ్యుడు. సదునష్ఠానము a good practice, సదాచారము. సదమలము pure, spotless, నిర్మలము. సదాచారము virtuous conduct, correct deportment, మంచినడత, సదాచారి a virtuous man. సదాచారులు the wise, the good. సదుత్తరము a proper answer or reply, ప్రతివాక్యము సదుపాయము an excellent means, a good expedient, మంచిసాధనము. సద్గతి beatitude, salvation, future bliss, ముక్తి. 'సద్గతియె చేకురు.' Swa. ii. 80. సద్గుణము virtue, a good quality, సుశీలము. సద్భక్తి true religion, zeal strong faith, fidelity, పూజ్యులయందలి మిక్కిలి అనురాగము. సద్భావము goodness, kindness, politeness, విద్యమానత, దయశిష్టాచారము. సద్వినయము true humility, మంచినమ్రత. సద్వ్యాపారము good behaviour, good conduct, మంచివృత్తి. సద్వ్యాసంగము love of good acts, మంచియిచ్ఛ, సున్నుతము praised, applauded, commended, స్తోత్రము చేయబడ్డ, కొనియాబడ్డ. సన్నుతి sincere praise, commendation, laud. చక్కనిస్తుతి, స్తోత్రము. సన్నుతించు to praise, applaud, commend, చక్కగా స్తోత్రముచేయు, మెచ్చుకొను. సన్మహత్త్వము greatness, urbanity, గొప్పతనము, శ్రేష్ఠత. Chenn. ii. 77. సన్మార్గము good or virtuous conduct, మంచినడత. సన్మార్గి or సన్మార్గుడు one of virtuous conduct, one who behaves well, మంచినడతగలవాడు. 'సన్మార్గికి కలియుగమున సౌఖ్యముగలదే.'
