(p. 439) caccu ṭsaṭsṭsu. [Tel.] v. n. To die: to expire. చచ్చుమాట a deadly word, a curse. చచ్చుమన్ను solid earth: mere earth: loose dry earth. ఘోరపుచావుచచ్చె he died a horrid death. చచ్చుఅప్పు a bad debt. కారముచచ్చిన ఆవాలు mustard that has lost its sharpness. చచ్చి బ్రతికినాడు he has had a narrow escape. చచ్చువాయువు ṭsaṭsu-vāyuvu. n. Paralysis, cramp. వాని కాళ్లు చచ్చుఅయిపోయినవి his legs have become paralysed.

(p. 533) tīḍu tīḍu. [Tel.] v. t. To sharpen. వాడిచేయు. To trim or prune, as a bird does its feathers with its beak. To gnash the teeth or bite the lips in rage. మీసాలుతీడి twisting his mustaches.

(p. 564) tōṭa tōṭa. [Tel.] n. A garden. తోటకాపు, తోటమాలి, తోటవాడు or తోటీడు' a gardener. తోటకూర tōṭa-kūra. n. Greens, garden herbs. The green produce of a garden is divided into ఆకుకూరలు or తోటకూరలు vegetables, the leaf of which is eaten, such as spinach and cabbage: and కాయకూరలు of which the pod, fruit, or head is eaten, such as brinjals, cucumbers, &c. కొయ్యతోటకూర or కొయ్యగూర is the phrase for all such plants as sprout after being cut, like camomile: and పెరుగుతోటకూర is the class of herbs which do not send forth shoots after being cut. తోటకూర is also a particular herb, called Braid in French. Amaranthus Tristis, (Rox. iii. 604.) Amaranthus gangeticus, or Amaranthus oleraccus. పెద్దతోటకూర Amaranthus giganteus. దొగ్గలితోటకూర Amaranthus polygamus. ముళ్లతోటకూర or నల్లదొగ్గలితోటకూర the Pricklly Amaranth, Amaranthus spinosus. ఎర్రకోడిజుట్టు తోటకూర or మయూరశిఖి Celosia cristata (Watts.) సిగ్గనగా తోటకూరవంటిది modesty grows anew in the heart like a cropped herb. తోటకూరవంటి like mere green stuff, i.e., weak, feeble తోటకూరవంటిపని a mere greenherb business. తోటకూరగింజవంటిది small as a mustard seed.

(p. 603) duvvu duvvu. [Tel.] v. a. To stroke, finger, or handle. To comb. To run the fingers through the hair. కాలుదువ్వుట to draw the foot slowly over the ground, to paw the ground with the foot. మీసాలుదువ్వు to stroke one's mustaches. కయ్యమునకు కాలుదువ్వు or కాలుత్రవ్వు to paw the ground (in fury.) దువ్వి or దు వ్వు duvvi. n. A tiger, పులి. A leopard, చిరుతపులి. దువ్వెన duvvena. n. A comb.

(p. 634) nara , నరపు or సరువు nara. [Tel.] n. Greyness of hair. పలితత్వము. A grey hair. నరవెండ్రుకలు nara-venḍrukalu. n. Grey hairs. నరపగడ్డము a grey beard. నరపమీసము grey mustaches.

(p. 817) pōca pōḷsa. [Tel.] n. A blade of grass, గడ్డి పరక. A bit, లేశము. జారపోర a bit of hemp. నూలిపోచ a bit of thread. గడ్డిపోచ a bit of grass. వాముపోచ a grain of mustard. ౛ందెపుపోచ a sacred thread.
