(p. 222) ?E0 The Sunna, anuswaram, or circle used for ణ, న, మ: as అండము aṇḍamu, an egg: సంతానము santānamu. Offspring: కంబు kambu, a shell. The half nasal 'ఁ' or semi circle is not used in modern Telugu, though some Pundits have made many efforts to introduce it.

This is translated by the word 'That' or 'so' or the infinitive mood is used, as వారు అక్కడ ఉండినారని అన్నాడు he told me that they were there. అవతల వెళ్లరాదని తిరిగీ వస్తిమి we did not think it right to go on and returned; we thought we must not go further; so we came back. నన్ను పొమ్మని చెప్పెను he told me to go. తన సొమ్మని యెంచి considering it his own. దాన్ని నాకని కొన్నాడు he bought it for me. కావలెనని అక్కడికి పోయినాడు he went there on purpose. పండ్లను పటపటమని కొరికినాడు he gnashed his teeth. ఘమ్మని fragrantly. తళుక్కని brilliantly. గడగడమని మాట్లాడినాడు he spoke rapidly. ఈగలు జుమ్మని ముసురు కొన్నవి the flies covered it buzzingly. నీవు ఈ శాలువ కప్పుకొంటే గుమ్మని ఉండును if you wear this shawl it feels warm: or, you will feel warm.

(p. 58) anusvāramu anu-svāramu. [Skt.] n. The name of the letter (O) the nasal character. సున్న, బిందువు.

(p. 63) apasmāramu or అపస్మారకము apa-smāramu. [Skt.] adj. Nasty, filthy, nauseous, dirty. అసహ్యమైన, రోతైన. అపస్మారము n. Forgetfulness. A confused feeling: violent passion, approaching to madness Nastiness; Epilepsy, కాకిసోమాల, తెరుపు మరుపు మాటలు, (లోకవాడుకలో) రోత, అసహ్యము. అపస్మారకుడు n. A nasty or dirty fellow. రోతమనిషి. అపస్మారి n. An epileptic (vulgarly) he who is nasty or filthy. కాకిసోమాల గలవాడు, రోతమనిషి.

(p. 76) ayācitamu a-yāchitamu. [Skt.] adj. Unasked, unsolicited. అడగని.

(p. 139) ilakarucu or ఈలకరుచు ila-karuṭsu. [Tel.] v. i. and t. To be set, jammed, stuck. వానికి తల యిలకరుచుకొని పోయినది his head is jammed or sunk between his shoulders. 'ప్రాణము ఇలకరుచుకొన్న' P. iii. 196. hard to kill: having stubborn life. అతనికి పండ్లు ఇలకరిచినవి his jaws were set, he gnashed his teeth. A. v. 13.

(p. 146) īla īla. [Tel.] n. Whistling. ఈలకరుచు īlakaruṭsu. v. n. To retain life, to set, or gnash the teeth. ఇలకరుచు. పండ్లు గట్టిగా కరచుకొను. ఈలగద్ద īla-gadda. A vulture; a kind of hawk; a miser లోభి. ఈలవేయు īla-vēyu. v. n. To whistle. ఈలపురుగు or ఈలకోడి īla-purugu. n. Moth. చిమ్మట.

(p. 179) eṅgili engili. [Tel. gen. ఎంగిటి plu. ఎంగిళ్లు.] n. Spittle. Defiled food, leavings. adj. Defiled, nasty. ఎంగిలి అన్నము leavings. ఎంగిలిమాటలు foul language, nonsense. ఎంగిలి ఆకు a leaf on which another has eaten his food.

(p. 193) ekakuḍu ēka-kuḍu. [Skt.] n. An unassisted man. అసహాయుడు.

(p. 199) ēbhyamu ē-bhyamu. [Corrupted from ఎబ్బెము] adj. Nasty. ఏభ్యపడు to be disgusted. ఏభ్యరాసి or ఏభ్యపడు A pack of nastiness. A nasty fellow.

(p. 221) auḍu auḍu. [Tel. properly writtern అవుడు.] n. A lip, పెదవి. ఔడుకొట్టు or ఔదుకరచు auḍu-koṭṭu. v. a. To bite the lips or gnash the teeth through rage.
