(p. 679) nelakolupu nela-kolupu. v. a. To place, deposit. ఉంచు. నెలత nelata. [నెల+త = తనువుగలది] n. A woman. నెలచూలి or నెలపట్టి nela-ṭsūli. n. The planet. (p. 803) poṭuku or పొటుక్కు potuku. [Tel. anuk] adv. Suddenly, said of sunset or sunrise, or of leaves falling from a tree. 'ప్రొద్దు పొటుక్కునంబొడువ భూధరకూటము లెక్కిడిగ్గుచున్.' Kālahasti. iv. 63.

(p. 1278) sande sande. [from Skt. సంధ్య.] n. Evening, సాయంకాలము. Daily prayers used by Brahmins, &c. సంధ్యావందనము. adj. Vesper; appertaining to the evening, or vesper hour. సాయంకాలపు. సందెచీకటి the evening twilight. సందెదీపమన్నా పెట్టదు she has not so much as a light in the evening. సందెవేళ or సందెకడ at even-tide, in the evening. 'అయ్యలుసందెవేళజని యాడగ నింటికి రాక.' H. iii. 69. సందెవార్చు to perform daily prayers. సందె౛ాము, సందెప్రొద్దు or సందెరేళ sande-ḍzāmu. n. The time of sunrise or sunset, when the night passes into the day or the day into the night. Generally, the evening.

Hence రెండు౛ాములు is midday or midnight, and రెండు౛ాములున్నర is about 2 p.m. ఎనిమిది ౛ాములు the eight watches, i.e., 24 hours; or a day and night. తెల్లివారి౛ామున in the morning. The plural is ౛ాములు or ౛ాలు.
