(p. 41) atiśajhamu ati-ṣayamu. [Skt.] adj. Much, excessive (In Telugu) Marvellous, wonderful, uncommon. అత్యంతమైన, చోద్యమైన n. Excellence, pre-eminence, pride. అతిశయము. ఎక్కువ ఇదియేమి అతిశయము what great matter is this. అతిశయపడు v. To be proud of. గర్వించు అతిశయించు or అతిశయిల్లు v. To overmatch, surpass. To increase, become augmented. మించు, ఎక్కువ అగు. అతిశయోక్తి exaggeration, hyperbole.

(p. 762) puṅgavamu pum-gavamu. [Skt. పుం male+గవము a cow.] A bull. పుంగవుడు pum-gavudu. n. An eminent man, శ్రేష్ఠుడు. This word is only used in composition, in the sense of 'pre-eminent, excellent:' thus మునిపుంగవుడు a venerable hermit.

(p. 768) punnāgamu punnāgamu. [Skt.] n. A white flower like tuberose: the tree termed Rottleria tinctoria. సురపొన్న. A white lotus, తెల్లకలువ. A chief, a pre-eminent man, పురుషశ్రేష్ఠుడు.

In compounds, excellent, best of its kind, pre-eminent. ఋషివృషభము a noble saint, an exalted sage. కవివృషభుడు a noble poet. వృషము vṛishamu. A bull, an ox, ఎద్దు. వృషుడు vṛishuḍu. n. An epithet of Indra. ఇంద్రుడు. వృషధ్వజుడు or వృషభాంకుడు vṛisha-dhvajudu. n. A name of Siva. శివుడు.

(p. 1234) vyāghramu vyāghramu. [Skt.] n. A royal tiger. శార్దూలము. adj. (In comp.) Best, pre-eminent, శ్రేష్ఠము. పురుషవ్యాఘ్రుడు a noble man, పురుషశ్రేష్ఠుడు. వ్యాఘ్రనఖము vyāghra-nakhamu. n. Lit. a tiger's claw. The name of a plant, Galedupa arboria, కరంజము, చక్రకారకము. A sort of perfume. గంధవిశేషము. వ్యాఘ్రాజినము vyāghr-ājinamu. n. The skin of a tiger, used to sit upon at devotions. వ్యాఘ్రాటము vyāghrāṭamu. n. A sky-lark. భరద్వాజము, ఏట్రింత. వ్యాఘ్రి vyāghri. n. A tigress.
