(p. 143) īḍigilu or ఈడిగిలబడు īḍigilu. [Tel.] v. n. To halt, be weary, to hang back, linger, be reluctant to move. To sit down immovably through fear, etc., refusing to stir.

(p. 170) ullaṅghanamu ul-langhanamu. [Skt.] n. Disregard, disgrace, contempt. అతిక్రమించుట. ఉల్లంఘించు ul-langhinṭsu. v. a. To disregard, to pass over, transgress, refuse, decline, disgrace, browbeat. అతిక్రమించు, తుటారించు. ఆజ్ఞనుల్లంఘించు to disregard an order.

(p. 184) eḍapaḍu eḍa-paḍu. [Tel.] v. i. To break off, to separate. ఎడతెగు; to be pledged for పూటపడు. ఎడపడకునికి dissent, refusal, division. BD. i. 389.

(p. 244) kapi kapi. [Skt.] n. A monkey. కోతి. కపిధ్వజుడు a title of Arjuna. కపిముష్టిన్యాయము a monkey-like grasp, obstinacy, pertinacity. (This alludes to a mode of catching a monkey, by putting grain into a cocoanut with a hole large enough to admit the monkey's hand: he thrusts it in, and after grasping the grain, his fist is caught in the hole: he obstinately refuses to let the grain go, and thus is secured.)

(p. 264) kasavu or కసువు kasavu [Tel.] n. Grass, sweepings. గడ్డి, ఇంటిలో ఊడ్చిన పెంట. కసవుకుప్ప a midden, a heap of refuse. చీపురితో ఊడ్చిచేర్చిన పెంట. కసవుకోడి A snipe, Ainsl. i. 393. కసవుగువ్వ a sort of sparrow.

(p. 270) kādanu kādanu. [Tel. కాదు+అను.] v. a. To deny, refuse, reject, forbid to do. To disapprove; to say it is not right. See కాదు.

(p. 284) killāku killāku. [Tel. కిల్ల+ఆకు.] n. A billet, a memorandum. చీటి. Literally గిల్లిన ఆకు a nipped palmleaf, i.e, a leaf indented with marks of the finger nail and sent by a messenger. An unequal number of debts agrees to a proposal, but an even number is a refusal. గిల్లు పత్ర, ఉల్లాకు.

(p. 285) kīḍisalu kīḍisalu. [Tel.] n. The sweepings or refuse of grain.

(p. 364) gānuga gānuga. [Tel.] n. A mill. An oil mill. చెరుకుగానుగ a mill for sugar cane. కలుగానుగ a stone mill. గానుగపిండి oil cake: the refuse of the seeds after the oil is pressed out. గానుగ రోలు the bowl or mortar part of such a mill. గానుగాడు to mill or to use a mill.

(p. 427) ceṭāyiñcu cheṭā-yinṭsu. [Tel.] v. t. To reject, refuse, disapprove.

(p. 566) tōpu or తోపుడు tōpu. [Tel. from తోయు or త్రోయు.] n. A shove or push. Rejecting, refusing, thrusting away. తోపుడు or త్రోపుడు topuḍu. n. Dismissal, putting away, pushing away. A carpenter's plane; so called because he pushes it from him. తోపుడుకాకితము a cancelled page. తరములేనితోపుడు loss arising from an unsaleable article.

(p. 650) nigrahamu nigrahamu. [Skt.] n. Rejection. త్రోపుడు. Aversion, disfavour: blaming; a threat. బెదురుమాట. Imprisonment, చెర. A limit, మేర. 'దుష్టనిగ్రహముశిష్టపరిపాలనము' discountenancing the evil and cherishing the good. T. iv. 17. నిగ్రహానుగ్రహశక్తి despotism. నిగ్రహించు nigrahinṭsu. v. a. To neglect, disregard, set aside, quash, refuse. To discountenance, disapprove. Swa. vi. 93.

(p. 759) pisaru pisaru. [Tel.] n. Stuff, trash, waste matter. The wash or refuse of grain. Matter in the eye, humour, pus. Any thing worthless, a mere trifle, a small quantity, లేశము. పిసరంతపొడి a pinch of snuff. పిసరువెళ్లతొక్కినారు they beat the stuff out of him. ఆ పని చేయుటలో వానిపిసరు వెళ్లినది he was quite exhausted in doing the business.

(p. 831) pratyākhyātamu praty-ākhyātamu [Skt.] adj. Prohibited, forbidden, denied, refused. Removed, set aside. Discouraged, నిరాకృతము. ప్రత్యాఖ్యాతుండయ్యె he was discouraged or refused. ప్రత్యాఖ్యానము praty-ākhyānamu. n. Rejection, refutation, disallowance, disregard, denial, refusal. నిరసనము, కూడదనడము.

(p. 883) biga or బిగియ biga. [Tel.] adv. Tightly. బిగతొక్కు biga-tokku. v. a. To tread in or tread down tight. బిగపట్టు or బిగబట్టు biga-pattu. v. a. & n. To stop, to withhold, keep back, check, suspend. ఊపిరి బిగబట్టు to hold the breath in. వాన బిగబట్టినది the rain held off. నా జీవితమును బిగబట్టినాడు he kept back my pay. బిగాది bigādi. adj. Penniless, destitute. n. A beggar. 'సీ ఆకతాయబిగాదియడిబండ గుండడుమొండి కట్టె గులాము మొట్టె గోవు.' H. v. 128. బిగి bigi. n. Tightness. Firmness of flesh or body. Rigidity, austerity, superciliousness. దృఢత్వము, బిగువు. adj. Tight, hard, firm. Rigid, austere, proud, arrogant. బిగిబద్ద a stick that holds any two things tight. బిగించు, బిగియించు, బిగుచు or బిగియజేయు biginṭsu. v. a. To tighten to fasten: to stop, suspend. To be stubborn. అత్తవారింటికి పోనని బిగించుకొనియున్నది she stayed at home refusing to go to her husband's house. బిగింపు bigimpu. n. Rigidity, stiffness. Austerity నీ బిగింవులుపనికిరావు your stiffness will do no good. బిగితము bigitamu. (బిగి+ఇతము.) adj. Firm, దృఢము. బిగిమానము bigi-mānamu. n. Tightness, firmness. Rigidity. Austerity. Superciliousness. 'ఈయండజరాజయాన కెనయౌపురుషుండు మదన్యుడీజగన్మండలి నెవ్వడంచు బిగిమానముతో బురికేగెవంతటన్.' N. vii. 67. బిగియు bigiyu. v. n. To be tight. బిగువగు, బిగువుచేయు. To be proud or arrogant. 'వెలుపలవిడిదిలో విచ్చేసియుండి, పి లువబంపినవేళ బిగియకవచ్చి.' L. v. 132. బిగుతు bigutu. n. Tightness, tension, adj. Tight. బిగువు biguvu. n. Tightness, Rigidity, stiffness, austerity. Superciliousness, బింకము. బిగువుకొను biguvukonu. v. n. To become tight, బిగువగు. బిగువులు biguvulu. n. A stays, or rafter in a building. A bundle, sheaf, or rafter in a building. A bundle, sheaf, pack, bale. నీలియాకు రు 1కి 1్ బిగువుల వంతున వేస్తున్నారు they sell indigo stalks at sixteen bundles a rupee. చొప్ప వరహా 1కి బిగువులు వంతున వేస్తున్నారు బిగువులు 30 వంతున thirty packs or bundles of straw per pagoda. బిగ్గ or బిగ్గన bigga. adv.
