(p. 63) apahariñcu apa-harinṭsu. [Skt.] v. a. To pillage, plunder, take by violence or deceit, usurp. ముచ్చిలించు, అన్యాయముగా ఎత్తుకొని పోవు. అపహరణము apa-haraṇamu. [Skt.] n. Plundering, purloining, carrying off, stealing. చౌర్యము, ముచ్చిలించడము, అన్యాయముగా ఎత్తుకొని పోవడము. అపహర్త n. One who carries away by force or violence, a thief, rogue. అపహారము apahāramu. [Skt.] n. Pillage, plunder, taking by violence. దోచుకోవడము. సర్వస్వాపహారము robbing of everything. హాదత్తాపపాదము taking back a gift. దత్తాహృతము adj. that which is robbed or stolen.

(p. 111) āṭu āṭu. [Tel.] v. n. To suffice: to last, to be enough దాన్ని పోడిమిగా వాడితే యింకా నెల దినములకు ఆటివచ్చును with caution it may suffice for a month. అది ఆటదు or ఆటి రాదు it is not enough. కట్టెలు ఒక మాటుగా తీసికొంటే ఆటివస్తుంది, చిల్లరచిల్లరగా తీసికొంటే ఆటిరావు if you buy your firewood in the lump it will last; if you buy only a little at a time it will not. ఆటు n. Striking. కొట్టుట. Shooting, or rheumatic pain: పోటు (M. VIII. i. 218:) throbbing. నాకు ఆటుపోటుగానున్నది I am in great pain. ఆ పుంటిలో ఆట్లుపోట్లు ఎత్తినవి the boil throbbed much.

(p. 533) tīpi or తీపు tīpi. [Tel.] n. Sweetness. Love, liking ఇచ్ఛ. A pang, throbbing pain యాతన. adj. Sweet మధురము. తీపిపుట్టించు tīpi-puṭṭinṭsu. v. t. To give an appetite, or sharpen the inclination. తీపిఉలవి or నల్లఉలవి or ఉలవటెంకి tipī-ulavi. n. A kind of fish, Rhynchobatus djeddensis (F.B.I.) తీపుత్రాడు a sweetened string for catching birds with. తీపురము tīpu-ramu. n. A joke. ఆగడము.

(p. 720) parispandamu pari-spandamu. [Skt.] n. Beating, throbbing. Decoration of the hair with flowers. మాల్యాదినిర్మాణము.

(p. 818) pōṭu pōṭu. [Tel.] n. A thrust, a stab, a blow. పొడుపు. కత్తిపోటు. A throb of pain. పోదుపు, నొప్పి. The swell of a river, or of the sea, the flow of the tides, high water, సముద్రోల్పణము, నద్యాదులజలవృద్ధి. Heroism, courage, శౌర్యము. A battle, యుద్ధము. వాడు ఇప్పుడు కొంచెము పోటుమీద నున్నాడు he is now drunk. 'నా కొడుకు పోటుమాటలు, నీకేటికి పొసగవాడ.' M. IV. v. 258. పోటుమాటలు అనగా ఎత్తిపొడుపుమాటలు. చెవిపోటు chevi-pōṭu. n. Ear-ache. ఆ కురుపు పోట్లు పొడుస్తున్నది the boil is throbbing. పోటాపోటీ pōṭā-pōṭī. n. Rivalry, emulation, competition, నీకంటే నాకనిపయిబడడము. వానికి నిన్న దర్భపోటుతగిలినది he was invited to the ceremony held on the anniversary of a man's father's death. పోటుపాటు ఎరిగినవాడు one who knows both sides of the question పోటాడు or పోటొగ్గు to get ready for battle. రణోద్యోగము చేయు. పోటుకంబము pōṭu-kambamu. n. A post or pillar which is set up as a prop, ఊతగానిలిపినస్తంభము. పోటుకలుపు pōṭu-kalupu. n. A second weeding, రెండవమారు తీయు కలుపు. పోటుకాడు, పోటుబంటు, పోటుమగడు or పోటుమానిసి pōṭu-kāḍu. n. A hero, a courageous man, శూరుడు. పోటుకోల pōṭu-kōla. n. A sharp pointed stick used as a prop. 'వలలును దెరలు ప్రోగులు చుట్టగాలేదు, పోటుకోలొకటియు బుచ్చలేదు, తెగిన మెకంబుల తేలేదు.' Dhurjati. iii. 96. పోటుగంప pōṭu-gampa. n. A large basket. పోటుపాటు pōṭu-pāṭu. n. The ebb and flow of a tide. Paidim. i. 86. 'నీపోటుపాటున నిపుడిట్లు మమ్ము బోరించితివి.' HD. ii. 1196. నీపోటుపాటున, నీవెచ్చి తగ్గుటచేతను. పోటెక్కించినవాడు pōt-ekkinchina-vāḍu. n. An assailant, one who attacks. ఎదిరించి పైకి వచ్చేవాడు.' పోటెక్కించినవారిమీద ప్రయోగించినవాని సమరపతి వధియించుననియును బెద్దలవలన వినియుందుము.' M. VII. iii. 96. పోటొడ్డు pōt-oḍḍu. v. n. To face in battle, to oppose. యుద్ధానిముఖుడగు. 'పొడిసింగరాజు పోటొడ్డినాడు.' Pal. 410. పోట్లాట pōḷl-āṭa. (పోటులు+ఆట.) n. Fighting; a struggle, dispute, యుద్ధము, కొట్టాట. పోట్లాడు or పోటులాడు pōṭl-āḍu. v. n. To fight, to battle, to struggle, to come to blows. యుద్ధముచేయు. పోట్లావు pōṭl-āvu. n. A cow that butts, పొడిచే స్వభావముగల ఆవు పోటరి or పోటరికాడు pōṭari. (పోటు+అరి.) n. A hero, a brave man. శూరుడు. 'పోటరులైనభర్త లేవురు గలరంటి.' M. IV. ii. 264. పోటరితనము pōṭari-tanamu. n. (p. 1197) visphurat vi-sphurat. [Skt.] adj. Shining. ప్రకాశించే. 'పుత్రకునివాక్యనిస్ఫుర ద్బోధమునకు.' H. i. 208. విస్ఫురణము vi-sphuraṇamu. n. Trembling, quivering of the lips, throbbing of the eyes, &c. Expansion of mind, Splendour, manifestation. కంపనము, మనోవికాసము, ప్రకాశము. విస్ఫురించు vi-sphurintsu. v. n. To shine, ప్రకాశించు. To swell, enlarge, విస్తరింపజేయు. విస్పురితము vi-sphuritamu. adj. Shaken, tremulous; Swollen, enlarged. Shining. కంపితమైన, విస్తరింపబడిన. ప్రకాశించే. విస్ఫూర్జితము vi-sphūrjitamu. adj. Very bright, మిక్కిలి ప్రకాశము నొందిన. విస్ఫూర్తి vi-sphūrti. n. Throbbing, palpitating, shaking; shining.

A darting or throbbing pain, a racking pain, a twitch, నొప్పి, పోటు. పక్కశూల a stitch in the side. కడుపుశూల the colic. హృదయశూల pain or distress of mind. గ్రహణశూల inauspiciousness. శూలము ṣūlamu. n. A sharp pointed weapon, a lance, pike, or dart; an iron pin or spit; a stake for impaling. A trident. సలాక, కొర్రు, త్రిశూలము. 'శూలపృథవణిజ్ వ్యాయము.' A. iv. 285. 'శూలాంగద్దపైసొరిది గూర్చుండి.'
