(p. 79) aravīsamu ara-vīsamu. [Tel.] n. The half of half an anna: the thirty-second part of unity. వీసములో సగము, ఒకటిలో ముప్పదిరెండో భాగము.

(p. 96) avasaramu avasaramu. [Skt.] n. Occasion, opportunity, వేళ, సమయము, కార్యోచిత సమయము. ఇది మూడో అవసరము this is the third time. 'చేరవచ్చు నయ్యవసరంబున,' T. iii. 39. అవసరము also means food offered as a meal to a god, or a kind of mantram said on the occasion. శ్రీరంగములో అరువై అవసరములు అరగింపు చేయుదురు they make an offering of sixty meals. Also necessity, urgency, hurry, flurry. అగత్యము, ఆతురము. అవసరమైనప్పుడు నిన్ని పిలిపించుకొంటాను I will send for you when necessary. అవసరము చేస్తే పని వెడిపోవును if you hurry the business will be spoiled. అది నాకు అవసరము లేదు. I have no occasion for this. అవసరము adj. Necessary, urgent, hurried, hasty. అగత్యమైన, అతురమైన, అవసరమైన పని urgent business. అవసరపడు avasara-paḍu. v. n. To hurry, to haste. అవసరముగా adv. Urgently, in haste. అగత్యముగా, ఆతురముగా, అవసరించు ava-sarinṭsu. [Skt.] v. a. To hurry, make haste. త్వరచేయు.

(p. 104) asthiramu a-sthiramu. [Skt.] adj. Transient, perishable, unstable. అశాశ్వతము. అస్థిరత a-sthirata. n. Unsteadiness, instability. చాంచల్యము, నిలుకడలేమి.

(p. 177) ūrmi ūrmi. [Skt.] n. A wave. అల; the fold of a cloth వస్త్రపు ముడుత. Pain నొప్పి. షడూర్ములు the six kinds of pain, viz., hunger, thirst, grief, passion, old age and death. క్షుత్, తృష్ణా. శోక, మోహ, జరా, మరణములు. ఊర్మిక ūrmika. n. A wave, a plait or fold, a finger ring.

(p. 216) ō ō. [Tel.] Added to cardinal numbers it forms ordinals మూడు three; మూడో third; this is contracted for మూడవ.

(p. 223) kaṅkuḍu kankuḍu. [Tel.] n. One who pretends to be a Brahmin. కపటబ్రాహ్మణుడు. A savage who lives on eagles రాపులుగులను చంపి తిను బోయవాడు. Yama, the regent of death. యముడు Yudhisthira యుధిష్ఠిరుడు.

(p. 256) kalabhamu kalabhamu. [Skt.] n. An elephant thirty years old.

(p. 283) kiri kiri. [Tel.] adj. Small, little. కిరిపొగ thin smoke. కిరిపిల్లాండ్లు kiri-pillānḍlu Small rings worn on the third toe.

(p. 291) kuccela kuchchela. [Tel.] n. (plu. కుచ్చెలలు or కుచ్చెళ్లు.) A rick of corn. A heap of cut corn. జొన్నలలోనగువానికుప్ప. a land measure which in Guntur district is twenty nine acres or (33 3/16) thirty three gunṭas (see గుంట) and three sixteenths. One కుచ్చెల is nearly the same as a కత్తి of land, and is equal to eight గొర్రులు or 400 కుంటలు. The land that produces one stack of corn; it varies in various districts, and the above stated quantity is that fixed in the government rates. కుచ్చెళ్లువేయు to lay corn in ricks. కుచ్చెళ్లు See కుచ్చె. కుచ్చెలగంత or కుచ్చెల బొంత a bag of corn.

(p. 304) kūru kūru. [Tel.] v. n. To come on, as sleep, or thirst. కలుగు. To collect, as sand in a drain. చేకూరు to accrue or be gained, to happen (as fear) ప్రాప్తమగు, సంభవించు. v. a. To fill, to stuff. To load (a gun), to fill or collect. కూరువ or కూర్వ kūruva. n. The ribs of a ship or boat. Also in carpentry, a bent piece of wood. ఓడకూర్పునకువేసే వంకర కొయ్య.

(p. 340) kṣuttu kshuttu. [Skt.] n. Hunger, appetite. ఆకలి. క్షుత్పిపాసలు hunger and thirst.

(p. 416) cinnamu chinnamu. [Tel.] n. A weight, equal to one thirtieth of a Tola (తులము); one eighth part of the coin termed a pagoda. చిన్నమెత్తెక్కుడు సిరులు (L. xi 41.) a trifling increase of wealth.

(p. 452) coṭacoṭa or చొడచొడ ṭsoṭa-ṭsoṭa. [Tel. anuk.] adv. Noisily, hissingly. Greedily, thirstily.

To congratulate, to hail. జయజయ అని దీవించు. జయరంజి the name of a kind of silk. BD. iii. 98. జయవారము jaya-vāramu. n. Tuesday. మంగళవారము. జయశబ్దము congratulations: shouts of victory. జయస్తంభము a pillar erected before a temple: or in the centre of a stone pond or basin. ధ్వనిజస్తంభము. జయించు jayintsu. v. n. & t. To conquer, or win; to be successful. గెలుచు, జయుడు jayuḍu. n. The name of Yudhishthira, the eldest of the Pāndavas. జయోత్కంఠుడు jayōtkanṭhaḍu. adj.
