(p. 194) ēkamu ēkamu. [Skt.] pron. One. adj. Sole, single, only, general, universal, uniform, combined, matchless, unequalled, chief. Joined, combined. ఏకదీక్షగా unintermittingly, incessantly. ఏకముగా all at once, unitedly. ఏకతిరగడము ceaseless roaming. అతడు ఏకరీతిని ఉండే మనిషి he is a regular or steady person. రాత్రి యేకముగా మెరిసినది it lightened incessantly all night. ఏకము చేయు ēkamu-chēyu. v. a. To make one, unite, gather together. ఏకకాలంబున at one time, simultaneously. ఏకకాలీనుడు ēka-kālīnuḍu. n. A contemporary. వారున్ను వీరున్ను ఏకకాలీనులైనందున as these men were contemporaries: ఏకకుండలుడు ēka-kuṇḍaluḍu. [lit. Having one earring] n. An epithet of Kubera. ఏకగర్భజనితులు ēka-garbha-janitulu. adj. Uterine, of the full blood. అతడున్ను నేనున్ను ఏకగర్భజనితులము గనుక as he and I are sons of the same parents or uterine brothers. ఏకగ్రీవము ēka-grīvamu. adj. Unanimous, joint. ఏకగ్రీవముగా unanimously, jointly. ఏకచక్రాధిపతి, or ఏకఛత్రాధిపతి ēka-chakrādhipati. n. A sole ruler, an absolute monarch. ఏకచింత one sole or engrossing thought or pursuit. ఏకనిష్ఠగా ēka-nishṭha-gā. adv. With a single eye or intent, resolutely, faithfully, thoroughly, downright. ఏకపత్నీవ్రతుడు ēka-patnī-vratuḍu. n. A monogamist, a man with one wife. ఏకబోగ్రామము ēka-bhōga-grāmamu. n. A village held by one owner, or tenant. ఏకమనస్కులై ēka-manaṣkulai. adv. With fixed attention, with a single heart. అందరు ఏకమైన నా మీద పడ్డారు they fell upon me in a body. ఏకవర్ణముగానున్నది it is all of one sort or colour. భువనేకసుందరి an unrivalled beauty. ఏకశిలానగరము ēka-ṣilā-nagaramu. n. (lit. One stone-town.) A town built near a single rock or hill. The Skt. translation of ఒరంగల్లు Warungul a town in the Nizam's Territories. ఏకాధిష్ఠతము ēkā-dishṭhitamu. adj. In one hand: in one person's sole power. M. I. ii. 200.

(p. 360) garbhamu garbhamu. [Skt.] n. The belly, the stomach, the womb. కడుపు. The inside of any thing, the interior; the middle. A fœtus కడుపులోని పిండము. నదీగర్భము the middle of a river. గర్భగృహము the nave, sanctuary, or shrine of a temple. గర్భముతోనున్న pregnant. గర్భముధరించు to conceive or become pregnant. ఆమె గర్భము కరిగిపోయింది she miscarried. ఆమెకు గర్భము నిలిచినది she has not miscarried. గర్భకలమము a swelling ear of corn. వరి పొట్టకరుకు. Vasu. ii. 101. గర్భాగారము a closet or recess. An inner chamber. లోపలిగది. ఏకగర్భజనితులయిన of full blood children of the same womb. గర్భవాసిగా నుండే yet in the womb, unborn. గర్భశత్రువు a secret enemy. గర్భాధానము the nuptial ceremony. గర్భాశయము the womb, the uterus. గర్భాష్టకము the eighth month of uterine gestation. The eighth year reckoning from conception. గర్భిణి garbhiṇi. n. A pregnant woman: చూలాలు.

(p. 605) dūyu or దుయ్యు dūyu. [Tel.] v. a. To penetrate, go through. గుచ్చుకొను. To pull off the scabbard, as a sword. To take palm leaves out of a volume. ఊడదీయు to strip off leaves or boughs. To pluck, take, as a handful of grass. వరదూసి pulling off the scalbard. దెబ్బ దూసిపోయినది the blow glanced off. పేగులు దిస్సిరాపొడిచి stabbed him so that the bowels came out. Pal. 424. దూయుతీగె Same as దుశ్శిరము. (q. v.) దూయించు dūyinṭsu. (causal of దూయు.) v. a. To draw across, to pass over. కాలినగడ్డపారచేత దూయించెను he passed a hot iron over the hand. (This is a ceremony of ordeal in oaths, quite distinct from cauterizing.) దూసిపోవు to go through or penetrate. To glance off, as a dart.

(p. 1078) riṅgu ringu. [Tel.] n. The flutering of wings. పక్షిపక్షాదిధ్వని, రెక్కలగాలి చప్పుడు. రింగులు ringulu. n. plu. The ends of a garment. చెంగులు, వస్త్రపుకుచ్చెళ్లు. 'బలువైనవిలువచే జలు వైనసన్నంపు వలువ రింగులుగా గవారగట్టి.' Raja Sēkhara. i. 24. 'పులితోలు విడిపించి జిలుగుదువ్వలువ రింగులు వల్లెవాటుమై కొలుపవచ్చు.' R. ii. 109.

(p. 1150) vāta vāta. [Tel. from వాచు.] n. A burning, a brand, a cautery, the mark which it produces. కాలినలోహముతో రోగమువచ్చిన పశ్వాదులను కాల్చడము. Also, the 3rd case of వాయి. By or in the mouth, నోటితో లేక, నోటియందు. వాతవేయు vāta-vēyu. v. a. To burn with an iron or apply as the actual cautery. To cauterize, to brand. కాలినలోహముతో రోగముగలపశ్వాదులను కాల్చు. To put in the mouth. నా యింటిని వాడు వాతవేసుకొన్నాడు he devoured my house, i.e., be seized my property. See under వాయి.

(p. 1319) sākṣāt , సాక్షాత్తు or సాక్షాత్తుగా s-ākshāt. [Skt.] adv. In sight, in view, in presence of, before. Manifestly, openly, publicly. Very, real, own. సమ్ముఖమందు, ఎదుట, ప్రత్యక్షముగా. సాక్షాత్ వాడే or సాక్షాత్తువాడే that very man, the identical person. వాడు సాక్షాత్తుగా వచ్చినాడు he came in person. సాక్షాద్విష్నువు Vishnu himself. సాక్షాత్తుతమ్ముడు an uterine brother, an own brother, సాక్షాత్కరించు s-ākshātkarinṭsu. v. n. To manifest oneself, to become manifest or present. ప్రత్యక్షమగు, ఎదుటికివచ్చు. సాక్షాత్కారము s-ākshātkāramu. n. A manifestation of oneself, an appearing in a visible form, ప్రత్యక్షమగుట. సాక్రాత్కృతము s-ākshātkṛitamu. adj. Made manifest. ప్రత్యక్షమైన. సాక్షాత్కృతి s-ākshāt-kṛiti. n. Personal presence; appearance in person, an interview. ప్రత్యక్షముకావడము. సాక్షాత్కృతుడు s-ākshāt-kṛituḍu. n. One who manifested himself. సాక్షాత్కరించినవాడు.
