(p. 143) īcu īṭsu. [Tel.] v. n. To shrivel, wither, dry up. ఈచ īṭsa. adj. Lank, withered, misshapen. ఈచపడు or ఈచపోవు īṭsa-paḍu. To fall away, become lean. ఈచుక పోయిన lean, withered, flabby. శుష్కించిపోయిన.

(p. 173) ūca ūṭsa. [Tel.] n. The soft core of the plantain or similar tree. బొందె. A thorn bush. ముండ్ల దుబ్బ. ఉచకోతగా గొంతుకోసి వేసినాడు he cut the throat without any trouble. ఊచ ūṭsa. adj. Withered. ఊదకాలు a withered leg. ఊచచెయ్యి a withered hand. ఊచపట్టు to grow big enough for the core in a plant to form. ఊచపోవు to become lean. కృశించు. ఊచబియ్యము ūṭsa-biyyamu. n. Grain not quite ripe. బాగుగా ముదరని జొన్నలు మొదలైనవి, ఊచముట్టు ūṭsa-muṭṭu. adv. To the core entirely, wholly. 'ఉల్లమంత గడంచి యూచముట్టుగను కల్లలాడించిన గలదెపన్నిదము.' H. D. i. 252.

(p. 173) ūcu ūṭsu. [Tel.] v. n. To wither. వెంట్రుకలు ఊచిపోవుచున్నవి his hair is falling off. ఊచు causative of ఊగు. (q. v.)

(p. 179) eṇḍa enḍa. [Tel.] n. Heat, sunshine, glare, radiance, ఎండయెక్కినది the sun is high. చిరుఎండ the soft heat of the morning or evening; రేయెండ moonshine. వాడు వచ్చినప్పుడు నిండా యెండయెక్కినది it was late in the day when he arrived. ఎండకాచునప్పుడు when it is hot. నీకు ఎండ తగిలినది, or, నీ ముఖమునకు ఎండతగిలినది you look hot or fatigued, ఎండకన్నెరుగనివాడు one whose 'eye knows not the sunbeam,' i.e., who lives in the shade. ఎండకాలము eṇḍa-kālamu. n. The hot weather. ఎండగట్టు eṇḍa-gaṭṭu. v. t. To tie up (as a cloth) in the sun to dry. ఎండిపోవు. ఎండదెబ్బ eṇḍa-gāli. n. A burning wind. ఎండగోట్టు eṇḍa-goṭṭu. v. i. To dry up or wither ఎండిసోవు. ఎండదెబ్బ eṇḍa-debba. n. A stroke of the sun. ఎండదొర or ఎండరేడు eṇḍa-dora. n. The sun. ఎండపొద్దు eṇḍa-poddu. n. Noon. ఎండమావి eṇḍa-māvi. n. The mirage మృగతృష్ణ. ఎండబెట్టు eṇḍa-beṭṭu. v. t. To put out to dry. ఎదురెండ the sun against the face.

(p. 179) eṇḍu eṇḍu. [Tel.] v. n. To dry up, to become dry, to become lean or withered. తడి ఆరు, నీళ్లు ఇంకు, తపించు, శుష్కించు, ఎండిపోయిన dried up. ఎండు eṇḍu. adj. Dry, dried, shrivelling. ఎండుతెవులు a wasting disease.

(p. 274) kārāku kār-āku. [Tel.] n. A withered leaf. పండుటాకు 'గాలిచేకూలిన కారాకులట్ల.' DRAran, 176.

(p. 275) kāru kāru. [Tel.] adj. Black or jet black. కారుమొగులు a black cloud. కారుకమ్ములు black wires కారునువ్వులు the seeds of the black sesamum. (p. 290) kukaruḍu ku-karuḍu. [Skt.] n. One who has a withered hand. ఈచబోయినచెయ్యిగలవాడు.

(p. 326) kōḍu kōḍu. [Tel.] n. A rivulet, the branch of a river: an artificial canal. A bed of bulrushes: a marsh. నీటిపల్లము. A line రేఖ. A leg of a bed, table, or chair. కాలు. కోడుతారు to become overripe and wither. పండినపయిరు మిక్కిలియెండు. వరిపైరు కోడుతారినది the crop ir overripe. Ila. ii. 164. v. a. To brandish (the tongue as a snake.) To whisk (rice so as to separate the whole from the broken grains or stones.)

(p. 555) toṇṭa tonṭa. [Tel.] n. The bark of a tree, చెట్టుపట్ట. గడ్డితొంట or తొంటజొన్న a wisp a torch made of straw. తొంటచెయ్యి tonṭa-cheyyi. n. A withered hand ఈచబోయినచెయ్యి. తొంటచేతివాడు a man with a withered hand. కుకరుడు.

(p. 637) nalugu , నలగు or నలియు nalugu. [Tel.] v. n. To break. To be broken, bruised, crushed, crumpled or reduced to powder. నలియగు. To rub with a fragrant paste నలుగుపెట్టు. To become easy, smooth, or familiar by acquaintance. To wither, be weakened or debilitated. ఆ పాఠము అతనికి నలిగినది the lesson has become familiar to him. దోవ యింకా నలగలేదు the road is not yet trodden smooth. వారు జగడమాడగా నేను నలిగిపోతిని they were the disputants but I was the sufferer, I was crushed between them. వారు నలిగిపోయినాడు they are in reduced circumstances. ఒళ్లు నలిగియున్నది the limbs are quite tired. నలుగు nalugu. n. Rubbing, scrubbing the limbs with fragrant paste made usually of పెసలు. నలుగుపెట్టు to rub the limbs with paste. నలుగు or నలుగుపిండి n. A sort of fragrant paste used as soap. నలుగుడు or నలగుడు naluguḍu. n. Difficulty, trouble, pain, suffering. పిడనము, సంకటము, తొందర, ఇబ్బంది 'అతండు నలుగుడుబడరాదో మగువ.' Suca. iii. 333. That which is thrashed or bruised. నలిగినది. నలుగుడుపెట్టు to oppress, to harass. నలగగొట్టు nalaga-goṭṭu. v. a. To pound, to bruise. వాణ్ని నలగకొట్టినారు they thrashed him severely. నలత or నల్త nalata. n. Debility: a weak state: the remains or constitutional effects of a disease. పురాణించిన రోగము. Convalescence, a bad state of health, lingering indisposition, a low fever. నలతగొట్టు nalata-goṭṭu. n. A make-bate, a thorn in one's side. నలుకువ or నలకువ nalukuva. n. To twist. మెలిపెట్టు, చిక్కుపెట్టు. నులిగడ or నులితడ nuligaḍa. n. A medicinal plant, having a capsule consisting of fine fibres twisted in the form of a screw, Helicteres idora.
