(p. 181) ekku ekku. [Tel.] v. a. & n. To rise, increase, swell. To appear (by its effects as wine, water, poison, or medicine.) To affect the mind. To prevail as a report; to come to notice వాని తలకు మదము ఎక్కినది he is beside himself with pride or lust. వానికి మత్తెక్కినది he is intoxicated. వడ్డియెక్కినది interest has accrued. ఎక్కినవడ్డి the interest that accrued. వాని దుష్టగుణములు నీకు ఎక్కినవి you have caught his bad habits, or, followed his example. వార్తకెక్కు to become the theme or topic of discourse. వన్నెకెక్కినాడు he became celebrated, rose to distinction. వాసికెక్కిన celebrated, honoured. ఎన్నికకెక్కినాడు one who has risen to reputation. పది గంటలపొద్దు ఎక్కిన వేళ when it was ten o'clock, lit. when the sun has mounted (to) ten hours. ఆ పనికి ఎవరును ఎక్కలేదు no one came forward, or volunteered for the business. అతని మాట యెక్కదు his word will not do, or avail. తలకు నీళ్లెక్కి ౛లుబుగానున్నది the water has got into the head and I have a cold. To mount on, get upon. మంచమెక్కు to take to one's bed. ఎక్కుకొను ekku-konu. v. a. To mount on ఆరోహించు.

(p. 235) kaḍamuṭṭu kaḍa-muṭṭu. [Tel.] v. i. To be finished, reach the end. సమాప్తమగు, తుదముట్టు, ముగియు. To accrue to, to come to సిద్ధించు, కలుగు. కడముట్టించు kaḍa-muṭṭinṭsu. v. a. To finish.

(p. 303) kūḍu kūḍu. [Tel.] v. n. To be fit. తగు. To unite చేరు. To be possible. To accrue, be amassed, gained, acquired, come to hand. To agree, be united. v. a. To meet. To add or sum up. ఇందులో కూడినపని a matter connected herewith. దొమ్మికూడివచ్చిరి they came in a a mob. ఇదియును కూడక పోయిన and if this be out of the question. ఇది కూడకుంటే if this is impracticable. ఇక్కడికి రాకూడక as I could not go there. వారు నోరెత్తగూడలేదు they could not say a word. కూడని kūḍani. adj. Unsuitable, improper. కూడనిమాట an unappropriate word. కూడబడు kūḍa-baḍu. v. n. To meet, unite చేరు. కూడబెట్టు kūḍa-beṭṭu. v. a. To collect. చేర్చు. To save as money. కూడమి kūḍami. n. Impossibility. కూడముట్టు kūḍa-muṭṭu. v. t. To run after తరుముకొనిపోవు, to overtake or come up with కలిసికొను. కూడలి kūḍali. n. Joining, meeting. కూడలిపట్టు a place of meeting. కూడలిదారి kūḍali-dāri. n. The place where various roads meet. కూడలిరాయి kūḍali-rāyi. n. A corner stone. కూడలివాయి kūḍali-vāyi. n. The gable end of a house. రెండుపంచలుచేరిన మూలనున్న నీటిదారి. కూడిక kūḍika. n. Junction, చేరిక. Collocation, juxtaposition. Saving, frugality. Partnership. కూడికవాండ్లు partners in merchandise పాలికాపులు (Vizag.) కూడుకొను kūḍu-konu. v. a. To associate with, to unite. కూడుదల kūḍudala. n. Gain, profit. లాభము.

(p. 304) kūru kūru. [Tel.] v. n. To come on, as sleep, or thirst. కలుగు. To collect, as sand in a drain. చేకూరు to accrue or be gained, to happen (as fear) ప్రాప్తమగు, సంభవించు. v. a. To fill, to stuff. To load (a gun), to fill or collect. కూరువ or కూర్వ kūruva. n. The ribs of a ship or boat. Also in carpentry, a bent piece of wood. ఓడకూర్పునకువేసే వంకర కొయ్య.

(p. 426) cendu chendu. [Tel.] v. n. To happen, befall, to belong to, to accrue to, to devolve on. To be got, felt, experienced. కలుగు. v. a. To obtain, attain to, enjoy. పొందు. నిదురచెందిరి they enjoyed sleep. చెందిన భయము the terror he suffered. దైనగతి చెందిరి they died: lit. they suffered the will of God. నిన్ను దోషముచెందదె will not the sin be thine? చెందించు chendinṭsu. v. a. To cause to get, attain, obtain or enjoy. చెందింపజేయు to assign or apportion.

(p. 433) cēkuru , చేకూరు, చేకూడు chēkuru. [Tel.] v. n. To come to hand. To accrue, be gained or be found. లభించు, సిద్ధించు, హస్తగతమగు.

(p. 434) cētavulu chē-tavulu. [Tel.] v. n. To accrue to, లభించు. To incur a loss నష్టివచ్చు.

(p. 453) coppaḍu ṭsop-paḍu. [Tel. చొప్పు+పడు.] v. n. To be convenient. సరిపడు, అమరిఉండు. To proceed, follow a course. To accrue to, కలుగు, దొరకు. మాటలచొప్పడిన is she fell into conversation. కళలంజొప్పడు శశి the moon who is liable to diminution of light. సైల్యమును పొందుచంద్రుడు. 'వైద్యుడు నెప్పుడు నెడతెగకపారు నేరును ద్విజుడున్ చొప్పడినయూరనుండుము చొప్పడకున్నట్టి యూరు చొరకుము సుమతీ.' చొప్పరుచు or చొప్పరించు ṭsopparaṭsu. v. t. To cause to be convenient చొప్పడజేయు. See చొప్పు.

(p. 588) dāpu dāpu. [Tel.] n. Nearness. సమీపము. Fear, భయము. 'దాపులేని రణంబు నేటికి దానవోత్తమచూడగాన్.' మై. i. ఆ యిల్లు నాకు దాపు నీకు దూరము that house is near to me and far from you. adj. Neighbouring, next, bordering on. v. a. To hide, దాచు. దాపించు dāpinṭsu. v. n. To approach. సమీపించు. v. a. To cause to be hidden. To have hidden, to cause to hide. దాపుడు dāpuḍu. n. Hiding. దాచుట. దాపుడచీర dāpuḍu-chīra. n. Clothes that are laid by, i.e., holiday clothes, as distinguished from కట్టుకోక. దాపున dāpu-na. (abl. of దాపు.) adv. Near, by. దాపుమూపులు dāpu-mūpulu. (anuk) n. Hiding and concealing. దాపురము, దాపరికము or దాపరము dāpuramu. n. Concealment. మరుగుపుచ్చుట. A hoard, దాచినసొమ్ము. To succeed or take effect, to accrue to, to be got, to be accomplished, to happen, occur. చేకూరు, లభించు, సిద్ధించు సంభవించు, కలుగు, ప్రాప్తమగు.' సైన్యముచేసమరజయముసమకూరదు.' M. XII. iii. 179. సమకూరుచు or సమకూర్చు sama-kūrutsu. v. a. To cause, effect, bring about. చేకూరజేయు.

(p. 1299) samakonu sama-konu. [Skt.+Tel.] v. n. To be got, to be obtained; happen, occur. లభించు, ప్రాప్తమగు, సిద్ధించు, కలుగు v. a. To attempt, to aim at. యత్నించు. 'సశరీరస్వర్గ సుఖముసమకొనియుండన్' Swa. ii. 63. సమకొని వీరికిద్దరకు సఖ్యముజేయక యున్నసాగదే.' P. i. 215. సమకొలుపు or సమకొల్పు sama-kolupu. v. a. To cause to happen. లభింపజేయు, సిద్ధింపజేయు. To make ready, సిద్ధపరుచు. To have, bear, endure, కలిగియుండు, సహించు. To induce, incite, persuade. పురికొలుపు, ప్రేరేపించు. 'ననుకృతార్థుని జేయ నాగురుస్తుతికి సమకొల్పితివినన్ను సద్గురుపుత్ర.'
