To raise or levy (an army.) అతడు జన్మమెత్తెను he assumed a mortal body, he was born. ఎత్తివ్రాయు to copy out or extract from a book. గొంతెత్తిచదువు to read aloud. భిక్షమెత్తు to take or receive alms. తళుకులెత్తు to assume lustre or become bright. నోరెత్తు to open the mouth, to speak నేను నోరెత్తలేదు I did not open my lips. గుత్తయెత్తినాడు he undertook the contract. దండెత్తు he raised troops. తూము ఎత్తించు to open a sluice. అలుగెత్తు to open an అలుగు (q. v.) లంగరు ఎత్తు to weigh anchor. పరుగెత్తు to take a run, to run. ఎత్తుకొనివచ్చు to fetch, to bring away. పిల్లను ఎత్తుకొను to take up a child. ఎత్తుకొనిపోవు to carry away or remove, to steal. తిరిపెమెత్తు to take alms, to beg. విరులెత్తు to sprout, to send forth shoots.

(p. 524) tārasiñcu or తారసిల్లు tārasinṭsu. [Tel.] v. n. To approach, draw near. To clash or collide సమీపించు. పుర్వపశ్చిమసముద్రముల వలె తారసిల్లినన్ it was like the eastern and western seas encountering one another. To spread వ్యాపించు. తారసము tārasamu. n. Nearness, contact, touch. సమీపము. Opposition తలపాటు. A. iii. 36. తారసానకు, అనగా తటస్థపడుటకు. తారసపడు tārasa-paḍu. v. a. To draw near, to front, engage in battle, to face. తారసపెట్ట tārasa-peṭṭu. v. a. To introduce, insinuate, procure, as a bawd. To adduce.

(p. 547) teccu teṭsṭsu. [Tel. √ తె to bring to give.] v. a. To get, to bring. తీసుకొనివచ్చు. To produce. To adduce as an instance. To understand or imply (a word not expressed in a sentence.) To bring about or cause. చిత్తానకుతెచ్చు to observe or heed, to lay to heart. హరింపులోకితెచ్చు, i.e., హరించు to embezzle. అనుభవములోకి తెచ్చు, i.e., అనుభవించు t enjoy. ప్రసంగమునకుతెచ్చు to introduce or bring up a subject. వన్నెతెచ్చు to give (or produce) a colour. ముస్తెచ్చు to bring forward. పనికితెచ్చు to use or put (a thing) to use. దోవకుతెచ్చు to bring one into the way, to reform one. తెమ్ము (imperative) bring. తెచ్చుకొను teṭsṭsu-konu. v. n. To obtain or procure. To earn. కిన్కతెచ్చుకొను to feign or put on anger, to put oneself into passion. బుద్ధితెచ్చుకొను to recover one's senses: to form a good resolution. మనసుకు తెచ్చుకొను to bring to mind, to lay to heart, to understand, to recollect. తెప్పించు teppinṭsu. v. a. To procure. To senf for. To get, obtain, provide.

(p. 855) phaṇitamu phaṇitamu. [Skt.] adj. Told, said, cited, adduced, praised. ఫణితి phaṇiti. n. Speech, a word, వాక్కు. Mode, way, course of conversation. ఫక్కిక, సరణి. 'పరమాత్ముడైన విష్నునిచరితములన్నియును నీప్రసాదంబున విస్తరఫణితి వినగగలిగెను.' Vishṇu. viii. 328.

(p. 1095) lakṣyamu lakshyamu. [Skt.] adj. Observable, perceptible. చూడదగిన, విచారింపదగిన. n. A mark, or butt, an aim. Care, regard, respect, esteem. గురి; ఉద్దేశము, గౌరవము. నాయందు వానికి లక్ష్యములేదు. he does not care for me, or mind me. An instance or example adduced in proof. దృష్టాంతము. ఇందుకు లక్ష్యము for instance. అది లక్ష్యము కాదు that is no great matter. లక్ష్యపెట్టు or లక్ష్యముచేయు lakshya-peṭṭu. v. a. To aim. To esteem, take notice of, regard, value, care for, respect. గురిపెట్టు. గౌరవముచేయు.

(p. 1304) sammatamu sam-matamu. [Skt.] adj. Assented to, agreed to, concurred in, approved of, liked, agreeable, సమ్మతియైన, అంగీకృతము. శాస్త్రసమ్మతమైనపని a legal act. అతనికి సమ్మతము కానిది that which is not agreeable to him. సమ్మతముగా sam-matamu-gā. adv. Willingly, agreeably, according to. మనః పూర్వకముగా, ప్రకారముగా, శాస్త్రసమ్మతముగా according to rule. తమతీర్పు దైవసమ్మతముగా నుండవలసినది you should give such a decision as may be right in the sight of God. సమ్మతి sam-mati. n. Consent approbation, assent. అంగీకారము, ఇచ్ఛ, ఇష్టము, అనుజ్ఞ. సమ్మతివచనము a text adduced in proof. శేషయ్య సమ్మతిని కొమారుడు రంగయ్య వ్రాలు signed by me, Rangaya, on behalf of my father Seshaya. సమ్మతించు, సమ్మతిలు or సమ్మతిల్లు sam-mat-inṭsu. v. n. To consent or agree. ఒప్పు, అంగీకరించు, సమ్మతుడు sam-matuḍu. n. One who assented to or agreed to; one who is approved of, అంగీకృతుడు, ఒప్పుకోబడ్డవాడు. సర్వజనసమ్మతుడు he whom all approve.
