(p. 375) guṇamu guṇamu. [Skt.] n. A quality, property, virtue, disposition, temper, character, or attribute. Tendency, effect, purpose, use. A symptom as of disease. వానికి గుణమువచ్చినది he is now come to his senses. నీలగుణము blackness. మంచి గుణము goodness, good temper. మోహగుణము the passion of lust. వానికి గుణముగానున్నది he is better, he has recovered. పది రూపాయలుయిస్తే గుణమే if he gives ten rupees so much the better. అందువల్ల యేమిగుణము what is the use of it? వానితో మాట్లాడితే గుణము లేదు there is no good in speaking to him. పది గుణములుగల or గడియకు ఒక గుణముగల freakish, changeable, whimsical వాంతిభ్రాంతిగుణము an attack or symptoms of cholera. The three Gunas are Rajah (passion) Tamah foulness: and Satvam (Truth). Added to a numeral, thus ద్విగుణము twice as much or two-fold. త్రిగుణము thrice as much, or three-fold. గుణము n. A cord, a string. త్రాడు. A bow string. అల్లెత్రాడు. గుణధ్వని the sound of the bowstring. గుణపడు guṇa-paḍu. v. n. To recover, improve, ameliorate. గుణమగు guṇa-m-agu. v. n. To recover. వారికి గుణమైనది they have improved. గుణమిచ్చు guṇa-m-iṭsṭsu. v. n. To affect favourably, as medicine, to improve the health. గుణము చేయు guṇamu-chēyu n. The cure. గుణవంతుడు or గుణయుతుడు guṇa-vantuḍu. n. A worthy or good man. గుణవతి guṇa-vati. n. A good woman. గుణి or గుణుడు guṇi. adj. Endowed or gifted with good qualities. 'గుణగుణంబులరీతి కూడిమాడి' (Paidimarri. iv. 214.) united as closely as goodness and the good, as the virtuous and virtue. అధికగుణుడు highly distinguished. గుణించు or గుణియించు guṇinṭsu. v. a. To multiply, calculate. To spell. గుణితము guṇitamu. n. Multiplication, spelling. గుణ్యత guṇyata. n. Excellence, goodness, worth. 'గుణ్యత యేమైననుసరి ప్రాణ్యవనము చేయవలయు.' T. iii. 96.

(p. 875) bāgu bāgu. [Tel.] n. Good, well being, a good state, or condition; health. క్షేమము, సుఖము. Beauty, charm, attraction. అందము Benefit, use, advantage. Manner, విధము. adj. Good, safe, sound, correct. క్షేమముగల. Beautiful, అందముగల. అట్లాచేస్తే యేమిబాగు what is the use of doing so? మహాబాగు very well, yes. బాగరి bāgari. (బాగు+అరి.) n. A beautiful or handsome woman or man. అందగాడు, అందగత్తె. 'తెల్లనితమ్మియందునెలదేటివలెన్ దగునొక్కబాగరిన్ నల్లనివాని.' R. iii. 44. బాగా or బాగుగా bāgā. adv. Well, properly, duly, satisfactorily, in good health. బాగానే ఉన్నది it is all right or safe. ఈ బట్ట బాగా ఉండలేదు this cloth is not good. వానికి బాగా ఉన్నది he is well. వానితలిదండ్రు లు బాగానే ఉన్నారు his parents are alive and well. వెన్నెల బాగా ఉండెను the moonshine was bright. చిన్నది బాగా ఉన్నది the girl is pretty. బాగుచేయు bāgu-chēyu. v. a. To do good to, to ameliorate. To mend, trim, repair. To cure. To clean. To set right, rectify, make fit, చక్కబరచు. బాగుదార bāgu-dāra. n. A small knife, చిన్నకత్తి. బాగుపడు bagu-padu. v. n. To be benefited, to thrive, to prosper. To recover health. To be reformed. బాగులోకివచ్చు to prosper or thrive. బాగులోకి తెచ్చు to benefit, ameliorate, rectify. బాగులాడి bāgu-lāḍi. n. A beau, అందగత్తె. బాగులు bagulu. n. Gestures, acts. వెర్రిబాగులు foolish gestures. వెర్రిబాగులవాడు or వెర్రిబాగులమారి one who acts as a mad man. 'బాలెవుం బాగులుమాయగన్గొనగపట్టుక వచ్చితిమయ్య.' Satya. iv. 9. బాగాలు (బాగు+ఆలు) the lovely wife. 'గురుని బాగాలు తమతోటగోడ దాటి.' T. iv. 145.

(p. 1161) vāsi vāsi. [Tel.] n. Difference. తారతమ్యము, భేదము. Greatness, ఆధిక్యము, గొప్పతనము. Profit, లాభము. Fame, renown, ప్రసిద్ధి. Amelioration, improvement in health or quality. స్వస్థము, గుణము. Comparative merits, superiority amongst competitors. Influence. Splendour, glory, celebrity. eminence, honor, lustre. ప్రసిద్ధి. శ్రేయస్సు. 'రఘుశేఖర బల్విలుకాడవౌగు, నీవాసియువన్నె నేడుగనవచ్చె.' R. v. 316. 'వదినెలు తెలిసినవాసి జెడును.' H. i. 138. 'వాపిచెడనతసుకాంతితో UR. iv. 297. వానిఒళ్లు వాసిచేసిరి they cured him. ముఖవాసి fascination, personal influence. వానికి చెయివాసికద్దు he has a lucky hand, he is fortunate in his practice. మాటవాసికిచెప్పినాను I said it without any particular reason. Extent, limit పరిమితి. This is affixed to words denoting fractions thus, అరవాసి one half. కాలువాసి one quarter. Advantage gained in measurement, &c., surplus. ధారణవాసి advantage gained by price. 'ధారణవాసికైరొదల్ బెట్టుచు.' A. vi. 93. టీ వాసి, మార్పుయెక్కువ తక్కువలకొరకు. 'మాయక్కకన్న రాధికయేయెక్కువయైన చానయెరిగింపుమదే యీమమనాయమనెన్నగ ప్రాయమ్మున రాజుబంటువాసిదలంపన్.' Ila. iii. 179. టీ రాజు బంటువాసి, అనగా దొరుకును సేవకునకును ఉండే తారతమ్యము వాసి vāsi. adj. Greater,గొప్ప. Better, either in health or in quality. స్వస్థము, బాగు. అది యిప్పుడు నిండావాసి it is much better now. రోగము వాసియైనది the disease is cured. వారికంటెవీరు వాసి these are better than the other men. వాసికెక్కు vāsi-ekku. v. n. To rise to celebrity, become great, obtain eminence, attain superiority, ప్రసిద్ధినిపొందు 'లోకమువారు మెచ్చగా వన్నెకువాసికెక్కి.' T. ii. 38. 'నీ యుపకారము ముజ్జగంబులన్ వాసికి నెక్కి.' Anirudh. iii. 59. వాసీగా vāsi-gā. adv. Well, properly, fully. చక్కగా. 'కాశీమహిమము మీచేవాసిగవిని సంశయముల నాసితిమిక నీదాసులము.' P. iv. 262. వాసిచేయు vāsi-chēyu. v. a. To ameliorate, cure, make better. స్వస్థముచేయు. వాసితనము vāsi-tanamu. n. Propriety, fitness, యుక్తము. 'సత్యభామా విధేయువలన మరలగొనుటపో వాసితనము.' Parij. iv. 16.

(p. 1376) svasthamu svasthamu. [Skt.] adj. Easy, well, at ease, in good health, sound. నెమ్మదిగానున్న, ఆరోగ్యమైన. స్వస్థచిత్తము a mind at ease. స్వస్థత or స్వస్థము svasthata. n. Health, soundness, convalescence. ఆరోగ్యము. ఆ రోగము స్వస్థమైనది the disease is cured. స్వస్థపరుచు or స్వస్థముచేయు svastha-paruṭsu. v. a. To cure, ameliorate, make better. వాసిచేయు, కుదుర్చు. స్వస్థమగు svastham-agu. v. n. To recover from illness, to become whole. కుదురు. స్వస్థముగా నుండు to be at ease, to be well, to be in good health. నెమ్మదిగానుండు, ఆరోగ్యముగానుండు.
