The moon when less than full: the half moon or crescent. ఖండా khanḍā. n. A cross handled dagger. జంజాతికత్తి, పెద్దకత్తి. The half moon or crescent. ఖండశశి. ఖండేందు భూషణుడు he who wears a crescent as his crest, i.e, Siva.

(p. 842) prahāramu or ప్రహరము pra-hāramu. [Skt.] n. Striking, destroying. A blow, దెబ్బ. మానమద ప్రహహారము annihilation of pride and passion. M. I. 1. 218.

(p. 1098) layamu layamu. [Skt.] n. Loss, destruction, extinction, annihilation, నాశము. The grass called cuss-cuss, వట్టివేరు. ఇంతలో ఆ ప్రభుత్వమునకు లయకాలము వచ్చినది these were the declining days of the dynasty. లయించు layinṭsu. v. n. To be destroyed. క్షయించు. To be attached to, be connected with, లగ్నమగు, సక్తమగు. వాని మనసంతా దానియందే లయించియుండగా while his every thought was engrossed by her.

(p. 1177) vināśamu vi-nāṣamu. [Skt. వి+నాశము.] n. Great ruin. total loss, destruction, annihilation. మిక్కిలినాశము. నీకు వినాశమువచ్చినదా are you rushing on destruction? వినాశమునొందు to perish.

(p. 1188) vilayamu vi-layamu. [Skt.] n. Dissolution, destruction, ruin, annihilation. కల్పాంతము, ప్రళయము, వినాశము. 'విలయసమయసమీర.' Sar. D. 408. 'ప్రియపుత్రుహితులకొప్పించి దేహంబువిడిచిన యారెండు విలయముల్ గాంచి.' B. X. 86. 12.

(p. 1286) saṃhariñcu sam-harinṭsu. [Skt.] v. a. To kill, destroy. చంపు. సంహారము or సంహరణము sam-hāramu. n. Destruction, annihilation, killing. నాశముచేయడము, చంపడము. సంహారకుడు or సంహర్త sam-hārakuḍu. n. One who kills. చంపువాడు. సంహృతము sam-hṛitamu. adj. Destroyed, killed. హతముచేయబడ్డ. 'అఖిలజనములు సంహృతమయ్యెనిచట.' M. XVI. i. 75. సంహృతి sam-hṛiti. n. Destruction, loss. సంహారము.

(p. 1293) sadamadamu or సదసద sada-madamu. [Tel.] n. Destruction, annihilation, death. నాశనము, చావు. 'జంద్యాలరాజులసదమదముగాను.' Pal. 130. సదమదముచేయు to kill, murder, assassinate, destroy, చంపు. సదమదమగు sada-madam-agu. v. n. To be bruised. నలుగు.
