(p. 17) aṃśamu amṣamu. [Skt] n. A share, part, portion, a fraction; the denominator of one; a degree of latitude or longitude (Geog.); a subject భాగము, విషయము, దేవుని యంశమున పుట్టినవాడు he who is born from a portion of the deity, he who is of divine origin; అంశపురుషుడు a fortunate man, a man of talent or parts. వర్ణనాంశము a descriptive part or passage in a poem. ఈ అంశము నాకు తెలుసును I am acquainted with this subject. ఈ అంశములో in this respect. వాడు అన్ని అంశములు తెలిసినవాడు he knows every thing. అంశచక్రము a table consulted by astrologers in casting nativities, an astrological diagram for ascertaining the degree of the sun in any sign. దశాంసము the tenth part; అంశసవరణ = reduction of fractions; అంశనీయము or అంశ్యము = that which is divisible.

(p. 225) kandāyamu kandāyamu. [K.] n. Tribute, tax. కందాయము [Skt.] n. An astrological period of four months.

(p. 462) jāmāta jāmāta. [Skt.] n. A son-in-law. A proverb says జామాతాదశమోగ్రహః a son-in-law is a Tenth Planet. The nine Planets are astrologically powerful to do evil, each in his hour, and a son-in-law is as pestilent a fellow as a Tenth Planet.

Left, quitted, deserted. విడువబడిన. త్యాగము tyāgamu. n. A giving up, or renunciation. Abdication. విడుపు. A gift, donation. ఈవి. ప్రాణత్యాగము suicide. త్యాగి tyāgi. n. A giver, donor, bestower. ఈవికాడు. కర్మత్యాగి a freethinker or philosopher. త్యాజ్యము tyājyamu. adj. Fit to be left. విడువదగిన. An unlucky hour, an hour astrologically unpropitious. వర్జ్యము, దోషయుక్తమైనందున విడువదగినకాలము.

(p. 1052) yantramu yantramu. [Skt.] n. A contrivance, machine, implement, instrument, apparatus. A diagram or figure of a mystical nature, an astrological character: a talisman, or amulet. A pump. సాధనము, యుక్తియుక్తమైనకరణము. 'జిలుగుకెంపుల యంత్రములమేతలంటక చాలసోలుచుతూలు శారికలను.' Ila. iv. 58. ఇక్షుయంత్రము a sugarcane mill. A. ii. 94. 'కలయంత్రధారలకప్పికప్పి.' Zaccaya. v. 47. యంత్రకారుడు yantra-kāruḍu. n. A maker of engines, an engineer, an artillery man, a gunner. యుక్తియుక్తమైన సాధనకారుడు. 'కందళితాహర్ముఖయంత్రకారుడు.' A. v. 89. టీ యంత్రకారుడు, పిరంగులుకాల్చేవాడు. యంత్రధారకుడు yantra-dhārakuḍu. n. An engineer, one who manages an engine. యంత్రమును తిప్పేవాడు. L. xv. 126. యంత్రపాతితము yantra-pātitamu. n. A kind of cake. జంతికలు. యంత్రించు yantrinṭsu. v. a. To contrive: to plan: to make a diagram or figure of a mystical nature, to put under a spell, యంత్రమువేయు. 'యంత్రించి మంత్రించి యంత్రించుడంచు.' Pal. 98. యంత్రితము yantritamu. adj. Spell bound, కట్టబడిన.

(p. 1096) lagnamu lagnamu. [Skt.] n. The rising of a Sign or Constellation. That portion of the equator, which rises in succession with each Sign in an oblique sphere. A period astrologically selected for any auspicious ceremony, such as a marriage, &c. రాశియొక్క ఉదయము. adj. Attached to, adhering to, in contact with, joined to, connected with, intent on, తగులుకొన్న. లగ్నకుడు lagnakuḍu. n. A security, or surety. పుటకాపు. పూటపడినవాడు. ప్రతిభువు. లగ్నపత్రిక lagna-patrika. n. A wedding notice.

(p. 1232) vyatīpātamu vy-atī-pātamu. [Skt.] n. The seventeenth of the astrological Yogas, ఒకగ్రహయోగము, పంచాంగయోగభేదము. A portent, a prodigy indicating calamity, as a comet, earthquake, &c. అత్యుత్పాతము, ఉపద్రవము. Applied figuratively to a naughty, troublesome, mischievous child. Contempt, అనాదరము. Fleeing from a battle, యుద్ధమున వెనుదీయుట. ఒరేపోరా వ్యతీపాత go along, you fool! 'అలుకహిమరశ్మినిజకిరణాళినించి యామహాతాపమణగింప నప్పుడుష్ణశీత సంయోగమునన వ్యతీపాతసమజ్ఞ బొడమెనొక్కడు ముజ్ఝగంబులువడంక.'
