(p. 198) ēdu or ఏదువంది ēdu. [Tel.] n. A procupine. ముండ్లపంది. One species is called కోడియేదు but in the south it is called ఒంటరికాడు. HD. i. 512. ఏదుపెరికినట్లు or ఏదుపంది ముండ్లు తీసినట్లు like pulling out the porcupines quills. ఏదువాసన a disgusting smell like that of a porcupine. cf. 'It stinks like a badger.' ఏదుకర్రలవంకెలు (H. iv. 159.) a sort of grain. ఏదుగడ్డి ēdu-gaḍḍi. n. Andropagon contortus, or the Spear grass. (Watts.) ఏదువేట ēdu-vēṭa. n. Any small, round and flat thing, a disc or tablet, పలుచగానుండి గుండ్రగానుండే వస్తువు. బంట్రోతుబిళ్ల a peon's badge. అత్తరుబిళ్ల a cake of rose paste. వెండిబిళ్ల a plate of silver. ఒరుగుబిళ్ల a round cushion. రాగిడిబిళ్ల a gold tire. ఆతపెలకు బిళ్లవేసినాడు he put a patch on the metal vessel. మొలబిళ్ల a bit or piece of metal tied on a string around the loins of a female infant. బిళ్లపెంకు or ఓడుబిళ్ల a tile. ఓడుబిళ్లపరువు a tiled roof. బిళ్లబొట్టు a round mark on the forehead. బిళ్లకట్టు biḷḷa-kaṭṭu. v. n. The word must be translated to suit the verb with which it is used. Inner, internal, inside. Inferior, or subordinate. లోగది an inner room. లోకావు a sub-renter or under farmer. లోచెయ్యి the inner hand, i.e., the palm of the hand. లోగొను to take inside, to receive, to contain within itself, లోపల నడచుకొను. లోమనుష్యుడు a reserved or self-contained man. లోగా lō-gā. adv. Within, inside, meanwhile, in the course of, లోపల. పదిదినములకులోగా within ten days. ఈలోగా meantime. ఇది వానికి చేరే లోగా before this reaches him. యాభైయేండ్లకులోగా before he was fifty years old.

(p. 1347) sūtramu sūtramu. [Skt.] n. A thread, cord, line, yarn, twine. తంతి, నూలు, నూలిపోగు, దారము. A brief or precept in grammar, &c., an aphorism. అనేకార్థబోధకసంక్షిస్తవాక్యము. An expedient, contrivance; an artificial piece of work; a machine, ఉపాయము, యంత్రము. కపట a delusive contrivance. నాటకసూత్రధారి. 'the unseen mover of the world's machine,' an epithet of God. జతసూత్రము a water work, a hydraulic engine. వ్యాకరణసూత్రము a concise rule of grammar. ఆపస్తంబసూత్రము the institutes of Apastamba. మీ గోత్రసూత్రములేమి what is your family name? and what is your creed? మంగళసూత్రము the thread with which the marriage badge is tied on the bride's neck. యజ్ఞసూత్రము the sacred thread worn by the three principal classes of the Hindus.
